    • Flimsy, fake-leather straps
These were comfortable shoes that I really loved. Unfortunately, the combination of the thin straps and synthetic material makes them very weak. I was surprised when, after having the shoes for a year and a half of moderate wear, one of the straps broke while I was out. A look at the other straps showed that they were tearing as well. I have had other vegan birkinstocks that haven't had this problem. Birkinstock needs to rethink the material for this design as it was sad to toss them when the sole was barely worn. ... show more

    • Too long and too narrow.
Size is too big (40). When purchasing this shoe, the sizes were listed as American sizes and said true to size so I ordered a 9. If they would have been listed in EU sizes, I would have purchased a 39 since I have had several pairs of Birkenstocks in my life and know my size. Both should be listed to avoid my current situation of having to return something to Germany. Ugg! ... show more

The description on this product clearly states the straps are 100% leather, but they are not! Even the tag on the straps say they are non-leather and it is painfully obvious that they are not when you look at them. If they hadn’t been $100 I might not complain about that. It’s very misleading. If you don’t mind that they are not leather, no worries. Just know that the non-leather straps don’t mold to your feet as well. ... show more
