Hopper gate design seems superior, time will tell, that's why I bought this one. I added hardware store washers, spacers and lube to "just barely adequate" furnished and with good care think I will get many seasons service. Assembly instructions are weak. Packaging for shipment was comically inadequate but amazingly no parts missing. I've fertilized my one acre one time and am optimistic about this unit.
