I got new curtains for the doors in our new home. The only problem was the spacing they had on the current rods were too close together and also dingy. These worked perfectly to space the curtains exactly taught enough. The magnets are super strong. As others have said just DO NOT slide them if you need to move placement as they will scratch your door. You have to pry them off and replace them to prevent scratches. I purchased these for the rods themselves and not the magnetic holders. Unfortunately, the finial is part of the holder. Since I’m not using the magnetic holders, the rods do not work for me. The end of the rods have nothing to them. Also, my rods do not stay straight. I only have it extended to 24 inches and it sags a little in the middle. My curtain isn’t heavy either. I think they’d be good used on a metal surface if you keep the rod small and do not extend it. Otherwise, I would look for another one. ... show more
