Top Amazon Reviews

  • Best you can get. Hands down.
This review is going to be pretty much my setup in conjunction with the dash kit. I hope this review can help you since I spent a lot of time fine tuning my setup. Things you will need: Maestro idatalink with the dash kit for AC functions along with a headunit of choice. You can actually tap into 2 wires on the DLC (or plug in connector) to get some (not AC) info from the ECM like tire pressure on all fours, AFR, IAT, etc. You need to flash the idatalink to allow functions to work properly (steering wheel controls, climate controls, etc.). The kit comes with various switch covers which you are allowed to change 2 (or 3?) buttons (climate button and rear defroster cannot be changed). I highly recommend using a shallow depth headunit due to wire and module fitment behind the headunit (I have a Kenwood DMX7706S although there are newer and better options). I set up anderson connectors on my main power wires along with a quick disconnect for the signal wire on my subwoofer box to make it easily removable (I didn't have much luck with hydraulic crimpers due to the "winging" they sometimes cause). I set up the power wire to the fuse box power feed and routed it through the fender well (there is a nipple on the rubber boot on the right side fender well that you can cut off) (GROUND IT IN THE TRUNK AREA!!!). As far as subwoofer vibrations, which you will likely encounter when you chase the bass, sound deadening helps a lot. The real source of my vibration was the first water deflection strip just below the rear window, not the main weather seal the encompasses the whole circumference (foam tape on the trunk lid is deh whey). If you install sound deadening, be sure to trim excess material and don't allow it to sit on top of the weather strip or you will get water in your trunk when it rains (I used grease and shut the trunk to find my cutting points). I had a bad experience with an infinity amp I bought and had white noise, so I got a kicker class D amp and have been really pleased. Please upgrade your door speakers, the factory ones are garbo and you can get really good sound from just aftermarket door speakers. They also sell pigtails to retain factory speaker wiring w/o splicing OEM harness (FYI). When you remove your radio shroud, KEEP THOSE PLASTIC RETAINER CLIPS!!!!!! They can get lost into the void when you remove the shroud sometimes. Summary: I had an extremely good experience with this dash kit. It matches the factory color of my trim pieces and I love the "auxiliary" switches that you don't get from some of these touch button ones. I hope this review helped you in any aspect. If you're on the fence about it, it is 120% worth every single penny. :) happy installs :) ... show more

  • Read everything first befor you buy this
After reading the entire add on Amazon and reading the reviews I decided that this was my choice. The only other choice if u want an aftermarket radio in your mustang is the Scoche one. What was not stated is that after you pay $250+ for the faceplate and harness you also need to purchase the module to program it or it's pointless because the climate controls are disabled. It also doesn't state that it comes with the harness. Would have been nice to know since I purchased it. Additional info that would be good to know are the comparable systems that it will work with. So just know if you purchase this item you will need to fork out an addition $140-$150 to buy the module so it will work. Waiting on the mail for mine... ... show more

  • Looking to replace your radio? Read this.
For those of you who are looking to replace your Radio please give yourself a minute to read this. What you will need to buy after you buy this for the complete system: iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR (Retains vehicle functions) Metra 40-CR10 (Antenna Adapter) Idatalink Compatible Radio SiriusXM SXV300 (To retain SiriusXM) Idatalink SAT1 (to retain factory Antenna for SiriusXM) Female to two male USB (to use both USB ports...Optional as there are covers for the one you dont use) DO NOT BUY THE HARNESS (ADS-HRN) it has one in the kit. This ADS MUS1 Kit is probably by far the best dash kit you could buy. This dash kit has great OEM quality fit and finish, the three top buttons in between climate and rear defrost are the ones you choose. Note that you will want to choose wisely as mentioned in the other reviews as the only way to change them again will require you to pull out the ADS-MRR out of the vehicle. I personally chose the one on the left to be vehicle information, the middle as gauges, and the right one to be front defrost but you will have a lot more buttons to choose from. As soon as you pick your three you will be using the ADS-MRR to program them in. Overall it looks great, places the radio at a good height, provides extra space, responds well, and gives a great OEM finish. Best to have someone who is knowledged in radio installs to do this or take it to a shop for everything. The install took me several hours to ensure that it was all hooked up correctly and the finished product was amazing. ... show more

  • updated install
This face plate is a replacement for another brand. Unit was modified to hold the heat/AC controls and bring the aftermarket radio higher on the dash. Over all the unit is great. Color matching is perfect. I am very pleased with the results
