If you're like me and have a newer vehicle with lots of factory options that run through the head unit, going aftermarket can be a huge pain in the rear. This active LOC has crystal clear sound output without all the engine noise and muddy sound processing from a budget aftermarket setup. Works even better if your car has a factory amplifier with a low frequency output. It's also fairly easy to install whether you have very little experience, or many years of car audio under your belt. My Audi A6 2012 has a B&O amp. Using those cheap ones at walmart literally started smoking. This one can take more than that. Only issue I had is the pre amp likes to fight the other amps. Mid bass songs it will get loud.

Definitely recommend if your system is stock. This will help bring the true output your subs need. If you have an aftermarket head unit this won't be needed. I wanted to retain the oem unit at least for a while until I find an aftermarket one down the line(money). Installation wasnt too bad, found a few youtube videos that helped. Works great, and the remote bass knob hasn't had any issues. The old Skar remote bass knob took a crap so hopefully this one is better quality. These are Skar SVR series 10" in their enclosure. I'm sure a custom box would be a better upgrade, but this hits pretty hard for now. ... show more
