Fantastic Tool / Gadget. Got this at a good price. I'm glad I did. The Resolution is great, the function of this equals thousand dollar commercial grade Thermal Cameras. It works automatically, changing temperature ranges depending on what you are pointing it toward, you can also adjust the emissivity and color pallet to your needs. It has a Great Range of detection, and for what I can tell , it seems very accurate. Whether you are checking for Heat, or Cool air leaks in your house, detecting hot parts on a Car or Engine, even what appliances or electrical things are drawing power in your home, the heat shows up on this. Lots of other applications I haven't explored yet, but will soon. The camera feels quality made, and works well, with my Android Phone. I just plug it in after the initial setup, and the app starts, and I can go right to work. I don't have to worry if the Battery is charged up, because it works right off my phone battery and doesn't seem to use much power at all. Sure hope this lasts, I am finding it very Helpful !

quite happy with it. does well. good quality, and having it use the phone makes access to images and video, as well as various modes nice. I got it for 150, that was Avery good price. otherwise I'd think twice, or more.

Works exactly as I hoped, at a very fair price. I thought of getting one of the "all-in-one" thermal cameras (with handle and screen), and I'm glad I didn't--because it focuses on being a thermal camera alone, it seems to give more "bang for the buck." This one attaches easily to my Galaxy S23 phone (with a case), and the resulting image on the phone's screen is very good, and contains all the relevant information. One thing I found useful: Attach the thermal camera with its lens facing the opposite direction from the phone's screen. That way, it is easier to hold and use, and without a concern of fingers getting into the thermal camera's site.... (Most--but not all--of the accompanying pictures show the thermal camera attached this way.)

The media could not be loaded. This thermal camera works well but the software has no documentation so I wasn't able to use all the features. I downloaded the Android app from the Play Store by searching for ThermCam. The software is from TOPDON, not AMPBANK, and it has zero reviews, but it seems to work fine. Using the software is fairly simple but I couldn't figure out how to do some of the more sophisticated things shown in the listing, like 3D edit. The camera has pretty good resolution and I only experienced minor lags when using it in real time mode. There is some inconsistent information about whether this camera is 256x192 or 512x384. There is a TISR setting in the app which is supposed to increase the resolution but enabling it didn't seem to make any difference. The camera found a couple of spots in my house where air is leaking and it also allows me to make psychedelic videos of running hot water. So very useful and fun. There is Windows software for this camera and following the link from getampbank.com I downloaded and installed TCView 2.0. The installer ran and required a restart of the computer, suggesting that some driver was installed. The TCView application runs but it doesn't connect to the camera even though I have connected the camera using the supplied usb cable. I think exported images and videos from the Android app can be analyzed on TCView but I haven't tried it yet.

This camera exceeded all expectations and outperformed the Flir camera I have. Refresh rate is quick and clarity is great. Id give it 10 stars for the price. The app is even good. Highly recommended for tradesman.

Compared to other thermal cameras like the Foxwell RT100 with very similar hardware, the M256 creates images a bit cleaner and easier to interpret. The software isn't as good or intuitive as the Foxwell, but the image quality led me to prefer the M256.
