This is absolutely great!!!! I was really worried about ordering it since it is much cheaper than the other higher name brand ones. i was sure something would be wrong, it would be too small, etc. When I got it, it was PERFECT!!! I wish the case was better and more sturdy though but my personal preference. I also had to order a new mouthpiece and ligature because the ligature that came with this saxophone was bent so that was unfortunate. Of course I recommend buying stronger reeds, that is what I did but it does come with 10! so that is really nice. I would also recommend buying a new neck strap because the one that comes with it is just the strap itself - there is no padding what so ever. I expected this so I already ordered a nice strap with my order of the saxophone. It came VERY quickly which I was super excited about because I wanted to play right away!! Overall I am super happy about my purchase, especially because it was MUCH cheaper than other saxophones but it is just as beautiful, just as perfect, and just as professional as the other ones I have played (Yamaha, king, etc)! DEFINITELY recommend if you want to save some $$ ... show more

My daughter, a sophomore this year decided she wanted to march Alto Sax this year instead of with her flute. We thought this would be a good choice for marching, knowing that during concert season she would go back to her flute. We are 3 weeks into marching season and I've already had to work on it many times and take it to the shop twice. At the shop the repair guy, who is a friend of mine form college, said these are cheap horns that are mass produced and he can't even get replacement parts. The pads are thin and don't seal good, the pad protector fell apart about the 6th time she pulled it out, The gloves are just stupid, why do you need them? The reeds are cheap and can hardly be played on. The neck strap?....Just go get a good neoprene one. Just don't waste your money on this sax. Spend a couple more hundred dollars and get a good used Yamaha or Selmer. You will save so much in time and aggravation. ... show more

    • Good little Sax but the Mouth piece needs upgraded.

Very inexpensive but great for the cost. My 11th grader was skeptical but after replacing the mouthpiece with a more expensive yamaha ... IT SOUNDS GREAT. And even with the additional cost its a better deal for HS band. Note... the cheaper reeds do not do this horn any favors... use the money you saved to get the Vandoren reeds... I guess what i am trying to say is IF you are not willing to upgrade the 30 bucks for a better mouth piece and always buy the better reeds... you will NOT be happy with this Sax. Upon opening the sax, it appeared to have been previously used. The neck piece had spots inside that look like it had been played and put away without being played. The mouthpiece came with a reed already attached, which was just gross. Please do not ever use a Reed you didn't personally remove from a sealed package. Aside from that, it did come with everything mentioned in the ad. It plays well and the nickel finish is beautiful with engraved bell. I assume that the nickel will eventually tarnish like it does on flutes if not kept clean with a polishing cloth. Overall, it's exactly what is advertised, a great inexpensive saxophone for a beginning student. ... show more

It's the perfect saxophone for beginners to intermediate, I am a junior in highschool band and I play many instruments. This saxophone has a great sound quality, especially in the lower register. As for the reeds the are 2½, and there are 11 total, 1 comes already put in the mouth piece, and the other 10 are sealed in a box. I would say you might have to adjust your mouthpiece a little further down then normal but that not an issue really. The only thing I could honestly think of as a critique is a better neck strap, it has no padding but it is bearable. It came with everything the package says. ... show more

The product came in good packing, shipping was on time. It was a gift for my son, who just started SAX classes. He mentioned, that the equipment looked used, because of a few scratches and a few tiny spots of paint disappeared. The music sounded good. There was a neck strap missing for the sax. Bought this for my son. Of course by the time I bought it, the price had jumped up an extra $20 but I didn't mind because it seems like such a great deal. Well, like a lot of others mentioned, mine did not come with cork grease. It also didn't come with the cleaning rod/brush thing. I feel cheated.
