    • Great Light, but needs A few setup notes.

This was an easy install on vinyl siding with the use of a vinyl siding block kit. It took me an hour to run a new 14-2 romex cable to the panel and install the light with the provided hardware. Since I have this light on my garage as a security light, I wired it directly to the circuit breaker in the panel. If I want to override the security feature and have the light stay on, turn the breaker on/off/on/off then back on. The light will stay on, regardless of motion sensor settings. To revert back to motion sensing mode, turn the breaker off, then back on, just once. Once the light was installed, the instructions aren't clear on how to actually test and adjust the light for motion. Turn the power off to the light if it's not already off. Slide the timer switch to D2D, and the sensitivity switch to TEST. Turn power on to the light. The light will remain in low power until the motion sensor picks up motion. Adjust the motion sensor position on the light until you get the range that you want, and the light comes on at your required distance. The range on this light is slightly less than 60 feet, so keep that in mind. Adjust the position of the lamps to light the area you want lit. Once you have adjusted the PIR (motion sensor) to your liking, select your time on to either 1, 3, or 10 minutes. Select your sensitivity to Low, Medium, or high, based on your area being covered. Overall, the quality of the lamp is good and the unit serves its intended purpose, to shed light when someone or some vehicle trips the sensor. The unit was installed roughly at a height of 20' off the ground. The range of light is very good and the variable "timed" shut off feature provides sufficient options for the customer. Install depends on your skill set, yet I found it very simple, less the number of times I climbed the ladder to adjust the settings to our needs. I purchased this one for a friend since mine worked so well. He has an in ground pool about 20ft from his doorwall and it light up the entire pool and surrounding area enough to easily swim at night. I used the Dusk-to-Dawn setting so after 10 minutes it dims down but the whole area is still lit up well enough to see if anyone or anything is in the yard. Installed this light on my workshop building to light our dogs fenced in run, light is plenty bright enough to cover the whole area, and had enough adjustment on the light panels to aim it just in our yard area, not much light spill-over into the neighbors lot, and none onto their house.

After installing this on the garage so my wife will have light entering the driveway, this one did not detect until she was right upon it, 10 feet or less. And the motion sensor arm was extended forward at a 90 degreee and it did not pick up her vehicle. Maybe its a bad one, but I'm done with it. This light exceeded our expectations. It was easy to install and super bright. I live that the movement detection sensor can be positioned differently as well as the lights themselves. We'll be purchasing a second one for our back door.
