Absolutely love the color! Fire opal is the orangey yellow I have been searching for so long! Tried so many variations with Arctic fox brand and all. This dye does bleed bit. Overall so far it holds well. I attached a before and after picture of my hair. And ignore the two tones to orange, I had to bleach my roots and didn't attempt to color match with a drop of purple dye mixed in for roots 😅 will fix and update at a later time! I didn't want to bleach my hair. I'm going through medical stuff that's making my hair really fragile. Lunar tides gave my dark blonde hair a gorgeous tinted look without use of bleach or harsh smelling chemicals. The actual product smells vaguely fruity. Like a gel air freshner. But it's not overpowering. It's pleasant. The color is highly pigminted and I barely needed to use any product to get a vibrant color. On my son's light blonde hair the color is VERY bright and saturated. After rinsing the color out, my hair was left so silky soft and hydrated and healthy feeling. I've NEVER colored my hair before and had it come out feeling so healthy afterwards. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a gentler hair color. I have been dying my hair funky colors for over 20 years. I lived special effects until the formual changed, manic panic is good for those with commitment issues (fades fast lol), and punky color was my staple up until now. I have used countless of others: artic fox, strawberry leopard, keracolor, and pretty much everything sold at Sally's and Ulta. This is a new favorite because not only is the bottle a larger size than most, but this has been the ONLY brand that didn't drastically fade from my roots after the first wash. Usually (I guess because of my DNA or hair PH) a dye always fades from my freshly bleached roots after the first wash but always tales to the older hair. This one did not! The dye also was true to color at the point t of application. The photos in my review are of the wet dye applied to freshly bleached roots, and the other photo is after the first was. I've had my hair professionally lightened several times and usually my stylist does my color too, but I've taken to experimenting with color on my own. I normally use Arctic Fox, but their orange is too muddy for me and their pinks all fade out within a week. I saw an ad for Lunar Tides and decided to test out Fire Opal and Fuschia Pink. Scent: the fire opal wasn't bad. Light. It came in a small jar. The scent of the fuschia pink was very strong, almost like an overwhelming faux rose scent. It came in a bottle. The consistency of both was a bit odd, it need to be whipped in bowl for a good minute. Warning: the pink did bleed a LOT during washing, but it also has lasted a LONG time compared to other pink dyes I have used. This photo was after 4wks. ... show more

Alright so, I am a quick shopper even online, I’ll check reviews and pictures and maybe check out a YouTube video to see a better view of the color. I however didn’t notice it was vegan, I tend to avoid vegan products because simply I have not found any that meet my expectations for what I need or expect. I understand if it’s a lifestyle/ethical choice, more power to you, live your truth: but me personally, this brand now added to the list along with arctic fox are thumbs down for me. Arctic fox bleeds non stop everywhere, seems to permanently dye anything but your hair, and washes out in about 3 washes. Now with this product Pros: -it did not stain my skin, that was cool -it’s pretty thick so I did not make any kind of mess apply it, again cool -if you want like a fun little change for about a week, this is perfect because it washes out quick. -it didn’t bleed onto my clothes or bedding, or skin when washing my hair But that’s where the pros end Cons: - I couldn’t grip the seal so I used a safety pin to help me get an end up, some of the product came out on the safety pin and I saw even though it was thick, for hair color it’s fairly translucent. Red flag if you are experienced in regularly dying your hair 😩 if you want a lighter version or very temporary color it would be ideal, but for vibrance and hang time NOPE. -just when I rinsed it out, COLD WATER, and used no shampoo I could tell it was going to wash out quick, and I was right, it lasted about 3 washes total, pretty much gone after the 2nd wash honestly. My hair is not over processed or anything that would contribute to loss of color at that rate. I even use baby shampoo since it’s no harsh chemicals and honestly has helped preserve my colors better than any “color saving” products on the market. Another thing I didn’t favor was it didn’t stick to my freshly bleached roots. Again experienced hair artists know that usually will be the brightest spot, as well as bleaching helping seal color in if you do it correctly in a time period. So PRETTY MUCH if you want something temporary, or you’re wanting to test drive a color but not ready to commit; this is perfect. However if you’re looking for something that is long lasting, this is not it. May be a basic bih but I’ve been doing this for 17 years and have tried dozens of dye products and ion color brilliance I personally don’t feel can be beat. Extremely vibrant color, very minimal bleeding/transfer after coloring and even that just depends on the color, you may not get any bleeding or transfer at all. It also lasts a long time, as well as fades evenly so you won’t have splotchy hair as it fades, you’ll just go through lighter shades of Itself. ... show more

Listen, I've tried a list of hair dye brands.. but nothing compares to Lunar Tides. I used to use lime crime for my hair, but this brand makes them look Soo bad lol. Never have I got a color so vibrant and crisp.. The product is THICK! Like pudding. I have long hair, I used only a bottle and a half.. and my hair usually needs 3 with other brands. Bang for your buck, and it conditions your hair so good. If y'all want to be wyld like me, take the leap and go with neon guava. (This pic was after I washed my hair. I swear it's not just greasy.) ... show more
