The light is bright and well built. You can see the quality right away and it seems that it will hold great in the saltwater environment. The two color led and dimming function that works with one simple on off switch is awesome. Turn on the switch and the light starts dimming up. A quick off on flip of the switch and the light stays at that light output setting. Turn it off and on again and the light changes color and starts dimming up again. Had mine installed by my boat dealership. Black was a perfect match to complement and go with my black t-top. Lights were mounted one aft on t-top bracket and the other mounted on forward t-top bracket on 20 ft center console. Lights work as described blue and white with dimming capability. Use this to replace a Lumitec Maxillume II 2000 lumens LED that failed after ten years. This light, while half the bightness at 1000 lumens, is more than adequate to light up the flybridge on my boat. And, being able to switch to red is great at night.

Replaced (2) 55 watt halogen spreader lights on my T-top center console boat and two of these are about as bright as 6 of my old 55w halogens!!!! Hurts my eyes if looking directly @ them. Plus the dimming feature is clutch, oh, did I mention the Blue LEDs??? They are bright / awesome also. There are 3 white & 2 blue LEDs. The lower amp draw on the batteries is just icing on the cake. Highly recommend, solid construction and quality, just shrink wrap all of the connections and you will be set. ... show more

Wow! I put a pair of these on and immediately loved them! Great coverage, brilliant light, and the dimming feature and colors are terrific! Two was probably overkill, but the pair practically eliminates shadows and I can clearly see to tie a knot no matter where I am.     • dead after exactly 3 years

Purchased two of these 3 years and 1 month ago to replace the original halogen spreader lights. Chose these as they had good reviews and thought that for the high price they should have good durability and reliability. I used them 2-3 hours total each month over the 3 years. This weekend turned the switch on and one was very dim and the second one was flashing. When the switch was quick cycled, to change the color, one light turned off, the second remained on dim white light. Cut the wires near the lights and applied 12V DC directly to the lights and they behaved the same, no color change, and one is dim and one is flashing. So, I am not happy with their life span at the high price, especially that they stopped working exactly at the end of their warranty period. The lights do not show any signs of corrosion on the exterior. ... show more
