Description

Your mattress is a significant investment. The Lucid® Zippered Mattress Encasement is the most complete way to protect it. Unlike a fitted-sheet-style protector that covers only the top, this waterproof mattress encasement wraps all six sides of your mattress in a StratoSmart™ waterproof barrier and seals it with a watertight zipper. Top, bottom, and all four sides—every angle is covered. A polyurethane backing repels fluids while the breathable construction allows air to pass through, so it stays quiet and comfortable without changing the feel of your mattress. The elasticized fit accommodates mattresses from 6 to 18 inches deep, working across standard, memory foam, pillow-top, and hybrid profiles without bunching or gapping. The zippered mattress protector also makes it a practical choice for moving. The full encasement shields from moisture, debris, and handling during transport. One important detail: most mattress warranties are voided the moment a stain appears. This bed protector keeps your mattress clean and stain-free, which means your mattress warranty stays valid alongside your mattress. It's not just bedding—it's protecting the value of what's underneath it. Machine washable and dryer safe. Backed by a 15-year limited warranty. Available in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King.

  • Love the product AND the price!
Size: King Style: Mattress Encasement
My boyfriend and I went to visit his family and they failed to tell us they had bed bugs. We ended up taking the annoying pests home and found our bedroom infested and us scratching like crazy. We keep a clean home and never dealt with bed bugs before. We were unsure of what to do, so we turned to the internet for guidance. We ended up buying some bed bug spray and dousing everything in our room which helped, but there were still bugs. We read that getting the box spring protector and mattress protector can work wonders, but we didn't want to spend a ton of money when we just shelled out over $100 on sprays. We found this one and ordered it since it was such a good price and had good reviews. Upon receiving the item, I was very satisfied with the material. It is very comfortable to sleep on and soft to the touch. This material doesn't make weird noises when you lay on it either. The zipper goes around 3 sides of the protector making it easier to put on the mattress. This fit perfectly on my king size mattress that is 15". I did have to put it on by myself which was a task, but it can be done. I sprayed everything down again before putting this protector on and since that day I've seen no more bed bugs and I haven't scratched once! We took many steps to ensure we got rid of the bugs, but I definitely feel this was one of the most vital! I love the product and recommend it to anyone looking for a great product at a great price! UPDATE: Still love the mattress protector... Even more now! Our puppy had an accident on the bed and we unzipped the protector to make sure it didn't get on the mattress and it didn't! Also, we were able to wipe down the protector with a cloth, soap, and water and the stain came out easily and immediately! It was like wiping off a tablecloth or something! Really great product!! ... show more

  • Original Review, Plus Update After Almost A Year Of Use...
Size: Queen Style: Mattress Encasement
Very simple, functional item! I love that it fully encloses the mattress. Having children that are always getting on and off my bed it's really convenient to not have to constantly re-adjust it under the sheets as I did my old one. Excellent quality! I personally have not had any issues at all with it feeling or sounding like a trash bag as others have said. It does have a plastic coating completely covering the underside of the material but it's soft, almost like rubber but without being sticky. I would definitely recommend washing it before use, any kind of bedding or clothing should be washed first. Just make sure you pay attention to the label, cool/cold water, no bleach or heat (ironing, dryers etc). I usually just hang it over my treadmill to dry flipping it over after a while for both sides. It doesn't hold water so it dries quickly. I would recommend this additional purchase for peace of mind if you are getting a new Lucid bed, or even if you just need a new protector for your current one. I do not know how it does with a regular type of mattress as I got it to go with my new Lucid bed I was getting. *UPDATE: DEC 2019* I have had it for 10-11 months now, almost a year and it is still great! We have managed to spill a few things on my bed one way or another yet surprisingly it still looks good after I wash it. I do use Shout as needed for stains (grape juice, coffee and a couple of others things have been spilt on the bed this past year) but it has cleaned up well each time and my bed still looks brand new under it. It is still completely liquid proof, and dust/dirt/skin cell/pet proof. Nothing gets through it. I never had any idea just how much stuff like that actually gets through sheets, blankets and regular mattress protectors until I invested in one of these. The only negative thing I can say is that it is a bit of a pain to remove and put back on regularly but mostly just because the mattress itself is so dense and heavy making it awkward as the whole mattress has to be stood up, but its well worth the hassle for me as I only wash it every other month or so as needed. ... show more

  • Best Encasement I have purchased
Size: Queen Style: Mattress Encasement
I bought this for an older pillow top mattress that I have been using when staying at my parents. In the past, I have had problems finding encasements for very thick mattresses and "sized up". I didn't want to do that this time as I wanted it to be easy and neat for my parents. This fits perfectly and has room to spare, but the elastic pulls it tight enough it looks like it was made for the mattress. It also feels wonderful to the touch - soft and not stiff like some covers. Although it doesn't seem as air tight as some of the encasements I have gotten in the past, I noticed an immediate improvement in my allergies when I woke up the next morning. The only issue I had was figuring out what direction the cover went on. I felt kind of stupid looking for directions, but with the elastic all the way around it is hard to tell which side is the longer side. I actually put in on upside down thinking the elastic would go on top and pull over the sides like a fitted sheet. Once it was on, it was easy to tell that I was wrong and the elastic goes on the bottom to pull it tight. But even with that snafu, I was able to get it on by myself without any physical difficulty. I just slid the end of the mattress off of the box spring and then slipped on the bottom. Then wiggled it up to the top and zipped it up. It slid on very well and unlike some of my other covers I didn't feel like it was going to tear with every tiny tug. All in all it seems to be a great cover. After one week of use I haven’t woken up congested and miserable once. I really wish there were some indication of top/bottom and sides just to make it easier, but the elastic made the fit so much better than my other encasements that I can’t knock any stars off for that. Also the durability and softness of the material seems to be steps above what I have gotten in the past. As long as it remains as air tight as it seems to be I will be very happy. ... show more

  • Zipper is tight, Good mattress Encasement Zipper is tight, Good mattress Encasement
Size: Twin Style: Mattress Encasement
Update 5/30/2016: Several months later: No more bites. Paranoid, I ended up putting a swatch of duct tape over the zipper pull. Did not use Tea Tree Oil on dogs or daughter, with no plans to. It took me 8 hours to thoroughly clean her room. I also had her room and surrounding rooms' floors steam cleaned. I sprinkled DE under the dog's bedding area for fleas and in all the cracks neat the doors. Daughter has not complained about the mattress cover once. I bought one of these after my daughter had a linear string of bites one morning, shortly after coming back from a weekend church camp retreat where they slept on mattresses but brought their own sheets and pillow. She had 45 bites total on her arms, neck and waist. I had heard that bed bugs are terrifically difficult to eradicate, and since the facts hinted at bed bugs, I went into action and did hours of research. These are part of my arsenal, but I was very concerned that the zipper would be a weak spot. Turns out the zipper is tight and has a zipper cover at the top where the zipper stops. The teeth are tight. I included an image of the zipper. The label was on the outside of the bed cover, and to me, offers a place for bed bugs to hide. I ended up cutting it off. Even if we don't have bed bugs, I know that these will at least cut down on allergens. The fabric is not noisier than say, parachute pants. It reminds me of parachute material. It doesn't look plastic or seem like it would be hot. Looks like breathable fabric with a tight weave. I'll share my research: I have put the pillows, stuffed animals and boxes of tiny toys/pieces in the freezer at 0F (I have a fridge thermometer) for 4 days. I put the oven at 120F and put stuff in there for 2 hours. It's too cool outside to put stuff in the car in the sun and bake them out there. Larger furniture and bean bag chair have gone in the attic in plastic bags for a year, although the heat this summer will likely kill any bugs. I bought Diamitaceous Earth to sprinkle in the cracks of the room after vacuuming thoroughly. Tea tree oil smells like flea shampoo for dogs, so I will use that directly on her skin or the dogs this summer if they or anything continues to bite her. All blankets are getting washed and dried on super high heat. Dryers should be on high for at least 90 minutes. Pull the bed away from the wall. Inspect the bed with a flashlight, looking in all cracks and edging. I did not find any, but I was looking for a small apple seed that was either hiding or crawling. I bagged everything in plastic bags and made the garbage bags airtight with Ikea 700.832.52 Bevara Sealing clip, assorted colors, assorted sizes, 30-pack and then brought them down to be washed, dried, baked or frozen. Vacuumed everything and threw away the bag. From now on, we will freeze, wash & dry, or bake anything that comes back from a camp with a dormitory. ... show more

  • It's a Wonderful Thing!!!
I think I got the best night's sleep last night that I've had in about 8 months! I'm thoroughly impressed with this cover. I first ordered it, thinking I was getting a new mattress, to keep the bugs out. I paid real close to $30.00 in shipping to get it here extremely quick and it did get here extremely quick, only to find out I wasn't getting the new mattress :-( However, I had my old mattress, which isn't a bad mattress, it just has bed bugs in it, so now we're using the cover to keep the nasty things in. Neither my guy, or I woke up with any bites.....woo-hoooo! We had covered the mattress and box spring in the plastic that the mattress stores use and it worked for a short while but it was starting to get some holes in it. I taped the ones I found but when we finally took it out to put the new covers on, I was amazed at all the small holes. Anyway, the plastic was horrible to sleep on. I had put a jersey sheet over it then a fitted sheet style bed bug protector that has the terry material on the top then the regular fitted sheet and we still stuck to the bed because of the plastic. If not for the holes I could've lived with it for the 18 months or until I could've afforded a new mattress but not him. When we woke up this morning he said this cover was a tiny, tiny, tiny bit sticky but nothing at all like the plastic! This cover went on so easy, we were doing it outside since we had the plastic on and I thought it was going to be a nightmare but not at all, slipped right over, stretched right under and zipped right up! It was a wonderful thing! Thank you LinenSpa for a wonderful nights sleep! :-) ... show more

  • Loving them so far.
Size: Queen Style: Mattress Encasement
I do tend to keep a very clean house. Recently, my brother was helping us with some new construction on our house, and each day he would go take a nap in whatever bed he was closest to. Well, he had bed bugs in his own apartment, and I guess he didn't realize what he was doing. We have 3 queen size beds, one full size and we just bought a new king size this past weekend. I found about 5 bugs in one bed, 3 in one, and only one on one, but that is too many, and who knows how many I didn't find. I purchased enough of these encasement's to cover all of the beds, and just reordered for the brand new bed to keep it from being contaminated. I only ordered 2 pillow cases, for the expensive pillows that are made of memory foam because they can not go in the dryer. All of the rest of the pillows can be put on high heat and should be fine. I read hundreds of reviews before deciding on this brand. Now, I can not speak yet on how well they will last long term, but I can say that they arrived in fantastic shape, no rips or problems with stitching or anything bad that I could see, other than one pillow case is messed up on the final enclosure of the zipper. I should return it, but that is too much of a hassle. I found them to be super simple to install. The zipper has to be zipped the rest of the way, then unzip it fully. Slide it over one end of the mattress with the bunched side to the back, smooth side to the front. Having help lifting the mattress is nice, but it can be done alone if you are creative. I did the king size mattress and each half of the box springs completely by myself and found it to be easier than the beds my son helped me with. Slide it and position it and start zipping. The bunchy part to the back pulls the front nice and smooth. I did use extra padding when enclosing the box springs to prevent sharp edges. There can't be any openings if you want bed bug protection. So far, there have been no more bites. I truly pray this takes care of the problem without it getting any worse. I did spray the bed frames down with rubbing alcohol and I have some more cleaning and inspecting to do. I have also been rewashing and/or running all bedding through the dryer for at least 30 minutes each, and trying to move treated items to a separate area to prevent re-contamination. Bed bugs are just such a gross thought, but they can happen no matter how clean you are. As far as comfort, I would compare the feel of these closely to parachute pants. There is a tiny bit of sound, but not bothersome at all. It does allow sheet corners to slide off more easily, if you have a husband like mine, that can't sit on the bed without popping off the sheets. The only thing I find weird is when I get out of bed, I can see and hear air going back into the encasement. I guess my body weight squishes the air out, and when I get up, it re-inflates itself. I haven't noticed any extra heat, but it is winter time right now. I think once the bug scare is over-with, I will put my thick mattress protector covers back on top of these, for the extra cushioning and then I doubt I will notice these are even there. ... show more

  • Very Protective. Fits tighter than most. Not the Softest
Size: Queen Style: Mattress Encasement
I use this encasement with the lucid mattress protector on top. I use to use protect-a-bed and it was crinkly and didn't seem to work that good. I bought both encasement and protecter for the price of the protect-a-bed. I chose this encasement since it has the spandex thay stretches or tighten to the mattress size. (I have an adjustable bed frame and didn't want that stuff saggy or showing.) it works great! I might get have it upside down? It works better with the spandex on the bottom on the bed seems to stay tighter! There is no wrong way to put it on all sides offer the same protector. Can be a pain to put on and take off. That's why I bought a protector to put over the encasement. I have had puppy urine. Ice cream stains, & the best 6-8 oz of red wine that sat on the bed for over 6 hours and nothing penetrated to the mattress. This encasement is not the softest. It's not as crinkley as the older ones have been, but it's not Terry cloth soft. I bought this to protect from spills. I didn't inspect the zipper quality but I doubt they could get through. I worked at a hotel and they had some shady old covers and never had bed bugs even though I've seen some embedded in sheets before they were tossed. ... show more

  • Two Years and Mattress Hasn't Been Touched by ANY Spill or Stain!!
Size: Queen Style: Mattress Encasement
Update January 2019: I purchased this product in early 2017 and with over a year of usage, I wanted to give a more thorough review. I purchased this to protect my new 14 inch Memory Foam bed. With four kids, I am sure you can imagine the never-ending messes and spills, especially when it comes to "accidents" and diaper leakages. I needed a 100% reliable mattress encasement protector so I took a chance on this one. I was skeptical at first but .. WOW, my skeptical mind was proven wrong!! I am in total awe with it's perfect performance!! I kept this encasement on my bed at all times for over a year now, except for when it needed washed. After all the numerous spills and messes, my mattress was NEVER touched! Not a spec of dirt ... Not a micro stain ... NOTHING!! When I take the encasement off ... my bed (which has a white stretch-knit cover), looks and smells just as it did the first day I set it up!! I am not exaggerating in the least bit. This encasement is absolutely waterproof!! Nothing ever seeps through the other side. I have washed this several times according to the instructions and it comes out clean and suffered no damage. This fits perfectly over my 14 inch mattress; it has a snug fit but it is also incredibly stretchable if you have a thicker mattress. If you want reliability and durability ... Lucid is the brand to go with!! This is a must have for any new mattress purchase. I purcased this encasement for a new 14 inch gel memory foam mattress (Classic Brands). The encasement is supposed to fit a mattress up to 22 inches thick; however, the encasement seemed to have almost met its limit at 14 inches as it seemed to be just right for my mattress, any thicker may be a bit constricting on the mattress. The zipper portion runs along the front of the mattress only; it does not zipper around the entire mattress, which I honestly prefer. The fabric is nice and silky soft and the zipper portion is of durable quality. I tested out the waterproofing by spilling an 8 ounce glass of water onto it and it definitely works, no water reached the inside of the encasement. Unlike those cheap vinyl encasements, this one will not rip nor does it make any kind of crunchy sound, it is just like encasing your mattress in a durable sheet. It slipped right onto my mattress with no problems. I am now as ease knowing my new mattress is completely protected on all sides from liquids, allergens, dust, dirt, bugs and other ruins. And with the very affordable price, you cannot go wrong! ... show more
