I LOVE this oven! So far, I've baked perfect cornbread, a nicely browned Thanksgiving turkey, and a casserole in a 9" x13" baking dish. (I measured the oven space, with broiler pan in, before purchasing the turkey, to be sure it would fit.). The oven is simple to use; since I preheat, I have been turning the top and bottom element knobs to the desired temp, then the bottom, timer knob to the left for continuous heat, then put the food in to cook when it is up to heat. I just set an timer with Alexa. Alternatively, one could set the timer on the oven longer to allow for preheat time (it heats up quickly!). I detest cleaning ovens but this gem is easily wiped out - even after the turkey! I used a simple kitchen sponge with a little detergent, then rinsed it well. Even though there is no internal light, tbe oven is so roomy, and sitting at counter height, easy to reach inside to wipe out. I'd noticed comments by others saying no crumb tray was included and tbought the same until I checked very carefully - it's there and covers the base very well, just unobtrusive! There are two wire racks; one of them easily held my old, heavy, Pyrex baking dish with handles tonight (I tried it in tbe oven before filling to make sure it fit). The included, enameled baking pan worked perfectly for the turkey - I sprayed it first as usual and used a small rack under tbe bird. Like the oven, the pan was very,very easy to clean with just a kitchen sponge,nylon scrubber and dish soap. I saw some negative comments about the doors and heat loss, but the doors on my unit meet perfectly and I don't believe there is undue heat loss (this is heavy glass, similar to tbe glass in a regular oven door). The right hand door on mine does want to close a bit when I open it wide so I just place a kitchen towel on the counter there a moment to hold it open if necessary. There is a wire handle to use in pulling out the baking pan or racks; it works well but one needs to do that slowly, carefully, as at the midpoint, if heavy, it could tip forward and out. I was prepared with an oven mitt and potholder, though, so no problem. I'm extremely pleased with this oven, its practicality, simplicity and ease of use!

UPDATE May 26, 2024. My last Luby, bought in July 2022 is still working but never wanting to buy any other toaster oven I hopped on Amazon to put one in my cart. Unfortunately it is now sold out. This review update is intended to add back another star AND most importantly appeal to Luby to bring this oven back (please). All a toaster oven really needs to do is bake just like a stove's oven. The Luby does that as well as any stove oven. I even baked a turkey one Thanksgiving in it. In fact, even if one does not want or need to use it year round then it is a great holiday item. While the turkey baked the kitchen oven was being used for all the baked sides. Also when it is boiling hot outside one can heat up the Luby and of course feel heat around it but it sure saves the entire kitchen from heating up. As previously mentioned the outside of the oven heats up but duh why the handle on the kitchen oven? One needs to open it WITHOUT burning themselves, so even Steven! I cannot speak to the rack issue as I doubled mine up and they held the turkey just fine. I admit the Luby was not heat calibrated but I used an oven thermometer to set the temp as I also do with the kitchen oven and had been doing long before I owned a Luby oven. When baking, especially breads, tempts matter. I could add a few more paragraphs but since the Luby is now out of stock I do not know if Amazon will publish this but hopefully they will. Please bring back this oven!!! UPDATE July 24, 2022. After two years and 3 months my Luby toaster oven died. Within that same time period I had previously gone through two other toaster ovens mostly due to the use of internal plastic holders for the on/off knob. After a period of heat exposure, the ovens simply would not stay off, flipping back on faster than I could turn them off. Except for the fact the temperature apparently hadn't been calibrated (I use a oven thermometer so that worked for me) I loved the Luby oven and used it more than once a day. I even roasted a turkey in it. Some reviewers recently complained about the rack not holding dishes being baked so they fell. Even for the first Luby I inserted both racks into the same slot since I'd probably never need to use them separately and I never had that problem, not even with the heavy turkey. BTW they now pack the crumb tray for the bottom along with the roasting pan and racks since apparently some reviewers missed the place in front to lift the bottom up for cleaning in the first Luby's shipped out. Anyway, when the Luby died, I didn't hesitate to order another one. I always open such large unwieldy items over the bed and guess what? The entire bottom seam was smashed in along the bottom and the back. The deepest spot of the indent was 3" deep. The seam had completely pulled apart in that spot and was sharp. I took photos which I am sending in to Amazon tonight because this oven had to be packed with that extensive damage. A whollop creating that much damage would have wrecked the box into smithereens which was pristine so yes it had to be packed with that damage. The bottom and back are also metal so that brand new Luby oven took quite an impact to sustain damage that extensive. Amazon as usual with their excellent customer service replaced the oven which I've now used successfully for over a week but I've kept the box just in case. Here's the thing though. I read a lot of reviews and more and more often reviewers are complaining about receiving damaged and/or dirty or deceptive items. I've shopped at Amazon since the mid 90's--back when everyone snickered that a book store would never work on-line. I watched fascinated as Jeff Bezos built an empire that is depended on world wide. I along with so many others happily shop here all the time. I mention this history and the reviews because it is time that manufacturers of products and retailers like Amazon that sell those products demand that damaged items like that oven are no longer shipped into the country. Putting a brand new oven of this size into a land fill should never, ever happen. There is no excuse whatsoever for packing an item with the extensive damage that Luby oven had going on. It is wasteful of materials, time, money and creates a great deal of mistrust especially of imported items. That damaged oven broke my heart for a while. Seriously. The new Luby is shiny with new knobs but otherwise works and looks the same. The temps are more accurate than on the previous oven. Hopefully this new oven will give me the good service that the dead one did and if it does, then I'd order another Luby in a nano second. Just please everyone stop packing and shipping into the country damaged items. I took off stars for the damage but the oven itself is a 5-star item. I really love it and enjoy using it! PREVIOUS REVIEW: Since I only use toaster ovens for baking and am of the opinion that most toaster ovens try to do too many things, I was happy to find this Luby. Not only is it especially built to bake, it is huge, easily holding a small turkey. What an asset this oven would be to families cooking over the holidays or wanting to bake a dish in their regular oven and a cake or dish in the Luby. Or, as in my case, to do all their baking in it since toaster ovens are a thousand times cooler to use than a stove oven especially in the summer. They heat up quicker and cool down faster as well. This oven looks nice too and actually looks more expensive than it is. The two doors open independently of each other and mine stay open regardless of position but certainly stay open when pulled totally to the side. Having them open to the side is preferable to having the door drop down which takes up counter space. I found the instruction booklet to be too skimpy since this oven is different from most. It has a knob for both the top burner and the lower burner. So, then, to bake a cake should one place the rack in the center of the oven like one would do in a stove oven and turn on both burners? Not clear in the manual so I set out to experiment. On the Luby using both burners at the same temperature means the oven is 50 degrees hotter than that chosen on both knobs. That is according to the oven temp gauge I've used for years. There is no way to know if it runs hot due to both burners being on or if the oven temp is off. Regardless, continuing my experiment, I've learned where to set the temp knobs to get the desired cooking temp. The temp gauges are marked off every 50 degrees. When I want 425, a popular baking temp, I found that spot and marked it off with a permanent marker. If that wears off, I'll use some acrylic paint! (Yes, this oven is worth the additional effort!) To all those complaining about not getting a crumb tray, indeed there is a tray included. It fits so well that it looks like the bottom of the oven but there is a small lever in the front to lift it up and out of the oven. The roasting pan and the two racks that come with the oven are good quality especially for a toaster oven. At present, rather than storing one rack, I'm using both of them, one on top of the other, in the middle slot. They hold a lot of weight without feeling flimsy. The roasting tray is stored for future use. It is heavy anough to hold that small turkey and is nicely enameled. As to the top and sides getting hot, IMO this oven gets no hotter than any other toaster oven I've owned. In fact, the door to my stove oven gets too hot to touch as well so over the years I've attempted to only touch handles regardless of which oven I'm using (notice I said attempted LOL). I do have it sitting on glass and have glass on top for safety reasons as I have for all my toaster ovens. This oven does not have a light but few I've owned have had lights. Usually toaster ovens are placed on counters where there is sufficient light in the room to look into the oven so personally I do not consider the lack of a light a negative as some might. One probably could toast in this oven while it's preheating but I can't speak to that as I gave up years ago on trying to toast in these ovens as I was spending so much time trying to get toast "just right" that I broke down and bought an old-timey regular toaster! So far I've baked two pizzas, a cake, biscuits twice, a tray of cookies and cornbread in the Luby and all cooked perfecting by checking the temp with my temp gauge before placing the items in the oven. I've baked frozen fries and warmed up left-overs in it, also with great success. I've saved the best for last! There is no stay-on sticker on the oven so most of us assumed we had to use the timer when baking. That was driving me crazy and I was actually considering sending this oven back when I made a remarkable discovery! When turning the timer off one night the knob moved slightly to the left after the ding sounded. Okay. So then why did that happen? I turned the timer knob to the left so that it was pointing at the little stamp that says "timer" and guess what!! The oven stayed on. And on. For over an hour. So folks, we indeed do have a stay-on function on this oven. Thank goodness because I really liked it otherwise. Now I love it I have no idea why the manufacturer removed the stay-on sticker from the oven (some posters say they saw pics of such a sticker) and instead put a timer sticker there because having the oven stay stay on is a real asset. Using the stay-on function means I can set a personal timer and carry it to whichever room I choose to be in while the oven bakes. Otherwise, having to keep re-setting the timer every 60 minutes when baking a chicken, roast or whatever is frustrating. Hopefully, the stay-on sticker will be placed back on the oven where the timer sticker is now. Final thought, this oven is relatively light weight considering its size so that for those wanting an oven to use for special occasions then packing it up would be very doable until the next special occasion. I've owned far too many toaster ovens in recent years as I suspect not enough metal parts and too much plastic is being used in them now which wears down after a year or so due to the extreme heat inside the oven. So here's hoping this oven will hold up because it fits my needs perfectly. It looks good and bakes as it should once I set up the temp. I struggled with how many stars to give it because so many qualities about it deserves a 5 but since this oven is not the traditional do-everything kind of toaster oven, I expected more from the manual. After using it for a while longer, perhaps I'll come back and add the final star (or any additional thoughts I may have). For now though, I'm totally happy with this oven!

(Update: Sept. 2022...Now at 2 years and 10 months of daily use!!) Original post: March 2020. We have used this daily for the past 10 months while RVing during a house remodel. It arrived slightly dented in the back due to being dropped when it was shipped, but the small depression hasn't affected its operation. If you prefer to a toaster oven for most things versus cranking up the big oven (or sticking your head in a very low, small propane oven to light a pilot light), you can adapt to this one well. Like most small ovens, the temperature dial is more of a "guideline" until you get to know your oven. And you can control the bottom and top heat separately. It is big. Really big. It is a small oven--not a "toaster"--which is what we wanted. The double doors make it easy to see when your pie crust and cookies are done. A pair of 9" round layer cake pans need to be placed diagonally versus side-by-side. 13x9" pyrex or 10" round pie pans are no problem. The printed numbers on the timer/temp dials do rub off after time. (It was $75. I can deal.) The black indicator on the black dial is difficult to see. Two lines with a silver Sharpie can fix that. (It was $75. I can deal.) We have a 50 amp service wired like a house. We have used it repeatedly at 450 degrees with no problems as long as we don't try to run anything else on the same circuit at the same time. The exterior of the oven gets very hot to the touch, just like "toaster" ovens. Put a ceramic coffee cup spacer (or glass cutting boards) between the oven and any walls. We haven't set ourselves on fire yet, but we don't dare leave any heated appliance unattended in an rv. (It was a steal at $75. We would buy it again.)

Really great oven for smaller dishes or heating up leftovers. The size of the oven is large enough to fit an entire frozen pizza, and includes two racks so you can prepare two trays of baked goods at once. So far we’ve made pizza, cookies, pie and more and they’ve all come out perfectly. In fact, I’m finding that I’m using this toaster oven even more than my actual oven, especially since this heats up much quicker than our main oven. You’ll notice that the oven has 3 knobs. The first knob knob controls the temperature for the top burner, the second knob for the bottom one, and the very bottom one controls the cook time. One of the negative reviews complains that there isn’t a “stay on” cooking option, but I’d argue that the timer system that this oven uses almost guarantees that you’ll never overcook your food. I think my favorite part of the toaster oven is the way that the doors open. They open outward and from the sides which makes them less likely to get in the way of things. One quick thing to note is that you’ll need to “burn off” factory residue from this oven, just like you would with any other appliance. To do this, I turned the top and bottom burner all the way up, and let the oven run for about an hour. You’ll notice some smoke and an electrical smell, but it’s completely normal.

A solid little oven though the racks are too light weight for their size. Only OK as toaster, unless you do 14 slices at once as claimed, for 2 or 3 it's slow and dries as much as toasts. But as an oven, it shines. Controls are basic analogue, well tried, easily repaired and accurate; heats quickly to the indicated temperature, separate top and bottom controls are very handy to get that bottom crust good and crisp w/o scorching the top. I'd add a third element at the top with it's own control and make a broiler of it too. It's a bit spendy for such a basic device but on the other hand, it's hard to find well made basic devices these days; if it lasts, as I suspect it will, it'll be $$ well spent. This is a piece of cake to clean, especially compared with the "Smart" Breville which preceded it; many good points but a huge pain to clean if used to roast, which it did well. Crud from cooking would load the convection fan which would wobble and wipe out it's bearings, gone convection and soon, the crud deposits become disgusting; but this is about the Luby. Easy clean, wide open access for loading, don't know if it'll hold a twenty pound turkey as claimed but it is roomy; twenty pounds of anything would stress those wimpy racks. The "door Gap" some have complained about seems mainly aesthetic, there is no stream of scalding air escaping, the exterior gets hot but no more than any other toaster oven I've encountered. All in all, if you do a lot of baking and roasting, great little oven. You engineer people, listen up, add that third top element with separate control, stiffen up those racks and you're 5 Star all the way. Jan. 23 Must amend the previous. Those wimpy, puny racks are a deal breaker. As someone noted, they can be doubled up which eliminates half the capacity but works. As singles, they fold up and drop contents, splat. Send us substantial racks and get your five stars, Jim. Jan.28. I've had it with those racks. Even doubled they'll fold up and leave you juggling your smoking roast pan. A similar oven with the addition of a rotisserie, having that third element at top will be next. Will review it when it gets here and proves itself.

This oven is great I got this oven Saturday an it came in good condition . As soon as I got it all setup I tried to bake a roll of Biscuits in it i set the top element 25 degrees less than the bottom which the instructions said was 350 degrees an I set the timer for 10 mins. to preheat the oven. Then when it was preheated I put them in an set the timer for what the tube said but I added another 5mins. My biscuits came out nice an light brown on top an bottom. Since then I have done alot of baking an everything has come out just right. The trouble I think people have been having is they don't realize how to set the top element. If you set it for 10 to 25 degrees less than the bottom element everything should come out fine. i would definitely recommend this to everyone it gives you so much flexibility on how you bake so you don't have to worry about any more burnt food. i just set it an walk away an when it dings everything is baked just right. Update: Well it has been almost a year since I bought this oven an it is still working great. I have baked a Turkey in it that was 20lbs. an it came out looking nice an golden an juicy the only thing I had to do was make sure that the rack was center on the grooves that hold it up so I think that is why people were having trouble baking large an heavy things in it is because you have to make sure the rack is centered on the shelves. I use this oven on a daily basis an have had no problems with it what so ever I love it I will be buying another one as soon as I can to store back for when this one quits on me.

Got this because we are living in a camper, that doesn't have an oven, while building a house. We have a small trailer like the kind used as office space on a construction site too that we put this in. LOVE the fact that I can fit a 9x13 cake pan in it or two 8 inch pie pans. And I love how big the sheet pan is that comes with it. Lots of space for lots of cookies. Unfortunately, my mini muffin pan was a bit too wide to fit due to the shape of the handles and I had to get another pan. If your pans are 16 & 1/4 inch wide or more, they won't fit due to the metal parts that stick out from the wall for it's own pan & racks to slide into slots. And it does run a little hotter than it says. To compensate, I lower the temp of the bottom section a bit. And recommend you get an oven thermometer to check the temp. The doors do get VERY hot and don't always stay open as well. They slowly swing shut sometimes while trying to get stuff out, so watch your wrists and don't let kids near it. And it does put off quite a bit of heat on the top & sides, so make sure you don't stack anything on it or around it. Will still be nice to have once house is built as an extra oven during holidays. Would probably do well on a small island or cart, just not under any cabinets due to the heat it puts off.
