The tool is a must have. It makes the job so easy. If you put the new ball joint in the freezer and lightly heat the area around where it goes in you can just push it in place.

Removal with the supplied tool is a breeze! Also note, that the easy way of installing the new ball joints to to put them in the freezer for 20 minutes, and they will push right into the sockets. If you feel a lot of resistance, just keep pushing so the air can escape from the socket. I should have made a video, because all the videos I saw was people removing the entire shock tower to work on the bench, and some guy putting a torch to it for removal! I did this by only removing the wheel and unbolting the ball joint. Then just do as instructed above :-) ... show more
