The ball head appears very well made. Ball moves well, single friction knob delivers very good control and locks well. Works well with D850 and 28mm- 300mm lens. However, the panoramic motion is very sticky due to the lubricant used. Usable but not smooth. Replacing the sticky lubricant solved the problem. This is a very good ball head for the price. Recommended.

This is a very solid little ball head. I haven't put it through any rigorous torture tests yet but I did use it for several days while out shooting landscapes. The big selling point on this for me was the fact that the tightening knobs will absolutely not unscrew by themselves and become lost. I am pretty rough on my ball heads using them primarily outdoors and while hiking. A big problem for me in the past has been losing tightening knobs in the field. This can be huge pain and has happened with the last two tripod heads I have owned. One of them was a cheaper no name brand and the other a Manfrotto. With the Manfrotto I lost the screw for the rotation lock while shooting in Ireland. I was less than thrilled to have to spend time searching out a hardware store to figure out a temporary fix. I don't foresee this being a problem with this model. The only slight negative I've noticed so far is that with my particular L bracket I can't click it into place from the top when the clamp is fully untightened. It has to be fed through the side of the clamp. This is really just a minor inconvenience though.

Super impressed with this LB52 Ball Head Mount! All metal construction, feels very sturdy and well made. Dials are smooth and easy to use and overall it just feels extremely high quality. Coming from a basic Manfrotto ball head, the Artcise feels much more professional and substantial. Includes a nice carry case and an extra plate mount, which at this price point seems extremely generous! Highly recommended!

I was tempted to go with a larger ARTCISE ball head but the LB44 holds my camera and lenses just fine. The only time the ball head slips a little is when the camera & long lens is heeled over in the vertical position and making slight elevation adjustments. Generally most any tripod head may feel more awkward when the camera is leaned over that way so ideally a pro photographer will use a camera L-mount so that camera is always mounted directly over the center of the tripod head. Also most pro level telephoto lenses have a rotating tripod collar so the camera and lens remains centered over the tripod head in any position.
