I bought mine so that I can listen to the Audio book CDs I get from the library. And I do have a few music CDs somewhere around the house which I can enjoy once more. I can also plug in my cell phone and listen to my podcasts through the CD player's much larger and more powerful speakers. Or I can connect my cell phone via the Bluetooth feature. And although I don't have music in .mp3 format on a separate hardrive, if I did I could connect that drive via the CD player's USB port and listen that way. This CD player runs on AC and DC power (4 C-cell batteries) which makes it very portable and convenient. The AC power cord is only about 4 feet long, so when not using battery power I need to keep it close to an outlet. But that's about the only negative mark in this review. UPDATE September 13, 2022 If you bought this CD player to listen to the radio, you'll be disappointed. It has very poor reception. Plus, it only has FM, and the mechanism for tuning the stations and assigning them to presets is clumsy at best. I have a much better radio at home that I can use, so I'm not too upset. ... show more

It's a great addition to my listening pleasure; convenient for indoor and outdoor listening. There is no remote control, though. My only disappointment was that I had to manually lift the lid to play the CDs, not the tap-and-go kind. But I am assuming that with time and constant use it would loosen up. I got this for my daughter. She enjoys using it. I was trying to get a CD player she could use with Bluetooth headphones. I thought this one could be used with them, but I was wrong. It's a great CD player but you can't connect it with Bluetooth headphones.
