I read a lot of reviews on a lot of portable DVD players before selecting this one and, for my needs, I'm very happy with my purchase. The price is extremely reasonable compared to others. The quality overall is better than expected. I haven't had it for too long but it's definitely been in use, and I haven't had any disc skipping issues. The picture is great. The sound doesn't get as loud as I'd want it if I was using it without headphones, however, I'm always using it with headphones so I didn't factor that in my rating. The volume with headphones is great. I've used it in the car via the headrest mount (sold separately) and it worked great and was easy to attach. I've had no problem with the battery holding a charge. I'm pleased with this product. If you know what you expect out of a portable dvd player going in, this one does what it says and is holding up. Also has a warranty.

I haven't watched an entire movie on this yet. I tried several DVD's to check the quality of play. So far so good. It played even one that was not heavily scratched but scuffed up none the less. It works as described. I rated the picture and screen quality as a 4 only because it's not HD or UHD. But for the price it is just fantastic. If you want a high quality picture like you're watching a new smart TV, then you'll have to go more expensive. All of the functions work as described and work very well. I didn't expect things like the fast forward feature to have 4 different speeds, but what a nice surprise that you can move forward without having to wait so long to go to a scene. It also allows you to select a scene if for some reason it didn't pick up where you left off. Another great feature. It also has memory to resume where you left off which is also great. Another feature I discovered was very cool, I played a DVD with 2 movies on each side, using the up and down arrows, the player actually toggled between the two movies, and when hit a 2nd time it went back to where I left off in the first movie. Very cool. For a small player, the sound is very good as well. It doesn't get extremely loud but loud enough to hear even in the car. I haven't tried the remote yet either, but everything seems quality made and durable. The screen rotates in either direction to allow folding the screen backward like a tablet. Over all, very happy with this purchase, I would recommend to anyone with grandchildren, like myself, who also like to travel and camp. I will definitely put this player to the test and update my review should any issues arise.

Received the player last week. `Have used it for several hours so far. Very impressed with it so far! They recommend charging it mto full before using it. And I did. Watched 4+ hoirs the first time and it did great. As with most small screens, you will have to set it to an angle that looks best to you, but the picture is excellent. And available settings for the screen are more than you'll probably use. The main thing I wanted to know was the sound quality & VOLUME!! Both are excellent! With the volume at about half it is quite loud enough to sit halfway back in a van parked and hear it with ease. Full volume is almost too loud! The build of the unit looks and feels very good. The last memory function is great also. The remote is quite small. So if your fingers are like mine, you'll have to get used to the little buttons, but it works flawlessly also. I highly recommend the item with my experience so far. And if you do the online registration, a 2 year warranty is quickly responded to which makes me very happy with them!

I'm not into streaming services, at all. I literally had both my Netflix and hulu subscriptions cancelled this year because I had to get a new debit card and I didn't care about renewing my memberships. Not to mention that I barely used either service (especially hulu) because Youtube has become my replacement TV for the most part, but the thing is is that I'm been on Youtube way more than usual, these days and I want to take a break from it. Two good friends of mine got me into DVDs and Blu-rays a year ago and while I mainly use my PS3 to watch them, I wanted to have a device that at least, lets me play my DVDs anywhere in a nice form factor, so I bought this. I've had this thing for a few months to see how it fares and so far, I'm pretty happy with it. Playing DVDs and Music CDs on this little guy all work pretty well, although I haven't tested any discs from other regions nor have I tested all the other features that this thing has to offer yet. But aside from that, the device itself looks and feels like a solid piece of tech (and I love the color, but that's just me. ;) Anyway, the buttons on this device feel great and are easy to understand, the speakers on this thing impressed me with how loud they can get, and while I'm not into screen resolutions whatsoever, the screen on this thing looks pretty good, too. - Final Thoughts Overall, I recommend getting this. To me, there's something special about devices like these and I'm glad that there’s companies out there that actually care enough to still make these, even years later. It's nice to use this in bed and even in my car when I'm on break at work and looking to kill some time without relying on my phone and Youtube to do so. Obviously, this thing is bigger than a smartphone and bringing physical CDs anywhere is never going to be as convenient as everything just being digital on your phone, but for me personally, I don't care. The only major benefit of digital media IS convenience, but that doesn't mean that it's always going to be there when you need it, as I experienced that myself in the past with streaming services. - Edit: 12/30/2024 I still like this thing, but in the few months that I've used it, I have experienced a few problems. There are times where the player doesn't want to play my DVDs whether it be not at all, or random cuts to the video will happen while playing, even though the discs are in pristine condition. When this happens, I have to stop the player, take the disc out, then put it back in and that usually solves the problem, but it's still weird and annoying to deal with when that problem comes up. Granted, I don't use this player 24/7 and I make sure to give this player a break (namely when watching a TV series, I'll turn it off after watching two to three episodes and I'll turn it off after watching one movie), but still.
