So over the years I have had many types of cameras, both wired, wireless, using an old iPhone and turning it into an indoor security camera. This will be my first 100% battery powered WIFI security cam. An overnight charge lasted me about 2 weeks, completely depending on how many motion alerts I received and how many times I logged into it. You can run a USB C cord to it to keep it charged all the time if you want. You get 30 day free of all the bells and whistles if you want but the camera will monitor motion without the $47.49 a year subscription. Note. That is more than I pay for my ring doorbell subscription. The resolution is pretty clear during the day and night. It has a light and a siren you can activate anytime remotely. You are able to share the camera feed with other people as well, the just need to download the app, create their own account and then send them the link. I’m not a fan of retrieving the camera or running a USB C cord to charge the cam every two weeks though. That why I believe this camera could be used as a temporary solution to monitor something. I have had many strong rain storms pass by and there has been no issues with it out in the weather. Again, I bet his camera should be used as temp solution, I could not imagine having to recharge multiple cams through the house every two weeks.

I was unsure about this camera initially, because I never with this security camera before. The camera is has all the features (motion, alarm, night vision,...). I am happy that this camera installs easily and has great playback and notification options for free.

My favorite thing about this camera is how easy it was to set up. It's really just a few minutes, and the app simply works. Having a long-lasting internal battery makes this a very low maintenance camera, perfect for a shed or garage or area you need to occasionally keep an eye on. Many security camera apps don't work or feel convoluted, but this one is neat and easy to operate. You can see well during the day or nighttime, and speak as needed. There is a short delay, but you can clearly hear yourself on the camera speaker. There is no pan or tilt functionality, but as long as you get a good angle, this camera provides an excellent view. It hasn't had any issues, and starts up fast whenever you need to check. Many camera apps having annoying ads that you need to watch to get to the stream, but this one seems clean. And there's no hassles to enter your credit card info, just advertisements to subscribe to a plan, that you can easily dismiss. After using it for a week, battery life still seems almost full, so I think with my occasional checking this will last 1 or 2 months as described. If you install solar panels, it should work forever. But even with a charging every other month, it's still very little hassle. For a low maintenance, easy to set up camera, this is ideal. The small size makes this not too noticeable and easy to hang up in any corner you need.

I was impressed with the look and feel of the camera as I unboxed everything. It comes with a nice set of mounting hardware, charge cable, and an easy to follow instruction manual. It connected to my router without any issues and during testing I was happy with notifications and quality. It even asks you how you're going to use it, either always plugged in, solar panels, or battery-only. Since I was going to use solar panels I selected that and it had an option to enable because of this which turned the camera back on if the battery dies and the solar charges it back up. There are tiers of subscription and I was happy with how that works. There's a free edition that still has access to cloud storage, it's just much fewer days stored. Also some of the advanced features are only available to paid subscriptions such as being able to select only part of the covered area to use motion detection on. The app was easy to use to set things up and sends push notifications to my phone when it detects movement. Tapping on the notification brings you to the live feed so you can see what's going on. The disappointing part The description doesn't say anywhere what USB port it uses to charge. When I looked online it gave the impression that it used micro-USB, so I ordered a solar panel with that cable end. I wish I had known beforehand as there are nicer panels that use USB-C now. The 2-way audio was neat, but I had to force close the app to turn it off. The part of the app to use it has a "press here to talk" area which turns it on but there's nowhere to turn it off. I assumed it was tapping that area again but it didn't work. They have to fix that. Now the bad parts If you want to use this outdoors in any mode other than battery-only, you're going to need a hood. The rubber cover that protects the power button, USB port, and microSD slot has to be opened to plug it in, which exposes critical electrical components to the elements. The software needs a lot more changes. If you want to record in full color, the spotlight needs to be on; even during the daytime. There's no day-night option to only run the light at night, or to record in color during the day and black and white at night. Seems like a basic thing which is missing. Same with the alarms. The alarms are the camera-end response to detected movement, and it doesn't care if it's night or day it will activate whichever alarms you have set. The 2 alarms are either a very bright strobe of the spotlight or a loud alarm sound. Most people wouldn't want the mailman or invited guests to have a heart attack during the day with the alarm going off. While you can manually change these options it's slightly clunky to navigate the app to do so. Most people will just set it to black and white and no alarms and leave it for this reason. Verdict If the software were a little more mature I could recommend this to others, but in its current state I'd say no. The features are there, but they're not all implemented well within the app. Also, since it's more risky to run the camera in always-powered or solar mode, it's only an outdoor camera if you only run it on battery or you buy extra accessories to protect the ports.
