I have ordered a number of "trench" and "mac" rain coats and they are not rain coats but thinly lined jackets. One was the same fabrication as this (cotton/poly %) and I was worried this was going to be shiny but it's not. I read it was lined and really wanted an insulated rain coat or one with a zip out lining for warmth in the winter. This is heavier than the others I tried and has a bit of insulation, enough to keep warm without layers of clothing underneath so this is "PERFECT". London Fog came through, classy, smart and well made. Nice deep pockets, a hood, buttons to the top with a button on the interior to seal yourself up to the neck when it's windy and wet. VERY, VERY happy and for the price, it was less than the others I ordered at Macy's and elsewhere. The belt does not have a buckle but ties, which is what I wanted. The buttons have a bit of a shine to them, a modern touch. Comfortable with room for a cardigan layer if I wanted it. My husband has a London Fog Signature Car Coat and it has a removable liner, he has had it for years. I have a Burberry Mac Coat with a removable wool liner I have had over 20 years that I love but it does not fit me right now. The only improvement I would recommend is having London Fog offer a woman's version with a removable wool or fleece liner, even if just an option and an additional cost. However, this will keep me warm without multiple layers but at times I'd prefer a t shirt to a light weight sweater and it would be nice to have a coat that gave an option of a removable liner. But that is a wish for the future, I'd certainly buy one even if this one is perfect for the cold, wet PNW winters and hoping it lasts as long as our other nice rain "coats".

Mid-weight and waterproof. My hand AND my cell phone sit down deeply into the side pockets. I have a size small, and I am 5’5”/130lb and it’s a little roomy. The shoulders fit perfectly for me, but there’s extra space from armpit down to the hem. I love that the back has a gusset versus a split hem. I do wish that it had an interior zipper pocket, but other than that it is just about perfect in every way. The weight of the material and the lining make it a great layering piece without adding a whole lot of weight to my suitcase when I’m not wearing it. I wore it in Paris and felt like I blended in with the locals easily. (Always a goal.) The sheer number of varying colored trench coats in Paris were amazing. I kind of wish I had purchased one and navy blue or gray. But I suspect that a fog coat is a once in a lifetime purchase as they last forever. My mother has one from the early 80s and it is still beautiful, always a cool classic!

I just bought this in a 'L' and I'm so happy I did! This is the London Fog 3/4 length trench in British Khaki. I am 5'10" and temporarily 200 lbs (boo meds weight). I got this for a trip for the fall when I should be back to my usual 173 lbs self. It fits now when buttoned (slightly tight when sitting while buttoned), and no room for a sweater. I'm keeping the L because I want to be able to layer it with a sweater and I cannot give up anymore room in the shoulder width. A 'M' would not work with my broad shoulders. I love the way this drapes and that it can be tied in the back while worn open (see pic). I like this so much I will buy it in black as well for the winter and a dressier look! This is the Burberry Kensington dupe I was hoping for!

This trench is one of my all time favorite Amazon purchases. The value for price cannot be beat. I shopped everywhere for a trench coat for my trip to Italy and could not find one to satisfy me. I was willing to pay up to $200 but nothing in that price range made me happy, either the fit was wrong or the style or color was off. I ordered this, highly skeptical about sizing. XL had been too small for my hips/butt in some brands. I am a curvy size 14/16. But the large in this fit like a dream. The finishes on this make it look so high end and I’m so happy with the classic London Fog quality. This coat is perfection.

Very nice trenchcoat. Well made and good for even heavy rain (took a soaking just a couple of weeks ago without any water leak through). It is warm. It is not lightweight for those looking for a lighter coat. Sleeves are a bit too long for me but not too terribly so as other coats have been, needing to be shortened. They would be hard to shorten as the cuff belts are close to the bottom of the sleeves, unless you have them removed entirely. Took one star off because it is not thigh length, which is how the picture looks (which is what I was looking for), it is more knee length. Will keep though and keep searching for a thigh length trench coat. Would recommend if someone is looking for something longer.

If you purchase this jacket, inspect it closely! I ordered both a medium and two smalls.Entirely different material between medium and small. I ordered one medium, which came in a London fog plastic bag. It felt a little large, so I ordered a small. The small arrived and had obviously been tried on, but not worn. However, the material was completely different than the medium. I exchanged for a different small. This second small also arrived in a repackaged bag, meaning it had been tried on by someone else. The material on this second small was the same material as the first small. There was such an evident color and material difference that I splashed water on both the medium and the small. The medium jacket immediately absorbed all the water. This medium is absolutely not even remotely water resistant let alone waterproof. Definitely not as advertised or what someone is looking for in a rain jacket! The water splashed on the small immediately beaded off. I tried multiple spots on the two jackets and arrived at the same conclusions each time. Make sure you test this jacket before you commit to keeping it as there seem to be either knock offs or a significant manufacturing problem. The picture I am including is the medium jacket, which is absolutely not water resistant.
