I have 4 Ultraloq smart locks in 2 homes and have had constant connection problems with them for the past several years. I finally had enough and started searching for a replacement and landed on Lockin. I've been very pleased with not only the locks themselves but their support. Top notch in every way. After messaging support about something, they didn't receive a reply from me letting them know things were okay, so they actually called me to follow up! And the hardware has been flawless. The palm reading capability is so fast and convenient... Just amazing! And I love that the magnet is built into deadbolt/strike instead of a seperate magnet that you stick onto the doorframe so the lock knows if the door is open or closed. It's SO much cleaner looking and functions perfectly! I'm really glad I found this company. I've purchased 2 locks so far for one home. The home has bitter cold winters and is right on the ocean where the salt air corrodes everything! So I'll be eager to learn how the locks perform this coming winter and how they look next summer. Both Ultraloq locks they replaced eventually failed this year with one that constantly clicked, the fingerprint reader film cover peeled off and it wouldn't lock/unlock. The other one started to constantly beep although it did still work. The Lockin instructions need just a little work and clarification. Support was very receptive and told me they were passing my feedback on to the appropriate internal parties. One last thing, be sure you update to the latest firmware version. After updating my first installed lock, no issues whatsoever. A few weeks later, I installed the second lock but had a problem with updating it. I'm not quite why it kept getting stuck. While it operated with an old firmware version, it ate the battery! While it went through two full battery recharges, the first lock still had a ~95% charge level. You'll be very happy with this lock!

Fast, easy, reliable

This lock had everything I wanted on paper, and one of the best price-points for a smart lock, so I purchased two units. Palm unlock is remarkably reliable and is faster than using a fingerprint, code, or especially fumbling with keys. I honestly never even tried the fingerprint after setup because the palm scan is just my go-to. It's great to be able to unlock without thinking about it when juggling the kid, dog, or groceries. Fit and finish seems high quality too w/ metal and glass on the exterior portion. Battery life seems good as well, been going for 6 weeks of multiple times daily usage on ~14% battery (including setup, wifi, thread, etc). So I'm guessing ~10 months @ 10% per month before needing to do a charge overnight. Nice thing is having a physical key backup for that time. Install was just as easy as any other smart lock, and components seem robust. The keyway is Schlage SC-1, so I was easily able to swap key pins and re-key to my other door lock, which was nice. App functionality is fine, good customization, and they have improved it (extending time before auto-lock to be up to a half-hour) via firmware update. Thread compatibility is nice, so it integrates with my smart-home network (Google Home/Home Assistant) super easily. One unit out of the box had an issue with "locking up" (pun intended). It would show in the app that it unlocked or locked, but the knob wouldn't even try to turn. It would often eventually unfreeze, but that was frustrating. Fortunately support walked me through a simple troubleshooting process, then shipped us a replacement and a prepaid packing label for the return. New one (and the second unit I had purchased initially) is flawless. No stars removed since support was so good (and any product is going to have a lemon sometimes). Now my only issue is that my door is up a couple steps so I have to extend my arm up to 'heil' my door for it to unlock. It doesn't look so bad if I hold my hand sideways though, so that's easy to live with. If anything I think they should release another version w/o fingerprint & keypad so it is more compact. Not that I plan on buying one again sometime soon.

Great Lock, Great Customer Service.

Excellent lock and customer service. I purchased two locks in July 2025 when they were on sale. I planned renovations on my home and purchased them after seeing great reviews on YouTube. I live in the Caribbean, Barbados to be precise, and received the locks timely. The boy in me opened one of the locks and misplaced the bolt assembly and striker plate, which are crucial to the operation of the lock. I only realised this in June 2026 when I decided to install them. I reached out to customer support, seeking to purchase the replacement part. I received a reply within 24 hours, and after 2 emails explaining that I had misplaced the parts, they offered to send the replacement free of cost. The lock I have installed is great; it was installed in ten minutes and palm-added. It unlocks immediately. It is installed on a door which was hardly used; now it is the main entry. It passed the wife and family approval, and they can't wait to have the second one installed. The autolock feature is great, which I never activated on previous locks, but this is so easy to unlock I have it activated. I have recommended it to my brother and would recommend it to anyone who is seeking to by a smart lock. I will update when the parts arrive and post videos.

The palm recognition feature is incredible and easily outperforms any other unlocking method I’ve used. It’s extremely accurate, and both locking and unlocking are lightning fast. Like most smart locks, it uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. While 5 GHz support would be nice in the future, this isn’t really an issue—most modern routers allow you to split bands or create a dedicated IoT network, making setup simple and reliable. The design is sleek and modern, and the build quality is excellent. The lock feels solid, heavy, and very well made, giving you confidence that it’s built to last. Considering the features, performance, and build quality, the value absolutely justifies the price. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-end smart lock with advanced unlocking technology, I highly recommend this one.

I love it! Helps not to have keys all the time....especially when walking the dogs. Auto lock feature work flawlessly. Vein reader works flawlessly. Pin number input works flawlessly. The finger print reader only worked once or twice...for me. However, I exclusively use the vein reader....fast and accurate. Solid construction and heavy then most brands. This one is Grade 2 security rated. Most other auto locks are Grade 3. Grade 1 is the best. Grade 3 is the worst. App works flawlessly too. No issues.

Finally, a wifi lock that works!!!

This lock was used to replace an older one that never really worked well with wifi. This Veno unit installed with little fanfare and connected the very first try on my 2.4G network. When I tell alexa to lock the door, the response is quite literally instantaneous! My old lock would take forever to respond if it ever did at all. Finally, the palm unlock feature is simply incredible and works every. single. time. Have your arms full of groceries, just keep part of your palm showing and it immediately unlocks. Cannot recommend this more highly.

Awesome Smart Lock! Software needs some work

UPDATED 7/2/2026: ** Lock still works well. ** Battery life is good. I LOVE having a rechargeable battery. ** NONE of my feature requests have been implemented, and the firmware hasn't been updated in a long while. Feels like the company is trying to save $$ on software engineering. —------------- I've been using the Lockin Veno (no camera model) for 2 months now. So far, it has been working great. I like it quite a bit, but its app is missing important scheduling and organization features. What I like: • Installation was relatively easy, and the app walks you through the necessary steps. • All the lock/unlock features work very well; • I LOVE the palm vein scanner! It’s fast, reliable, and very convenient. • The keypad, fingerprint scanner, and physical key features also work well; • There is a magnetic sensor in the lock that detects a physical magnet built into the (supplied) strike plate on the door jamb. This means that the lock actually ‘knows’ if the lock is engaged AND the door is closed. I’ve tried or installed four other locks that lack this feature, meaning that when their app says ‘door locked,’ it only means that the lock is engaged – you can turn the knob to the locked position with the door open, and it’ll still say ‘Door Locked.’ • Auto lock feature is great. I selected 3 seconds for mine; Now I only need to close the door when I come in or walk out. What would make it better: • There is no User’s Manual. Only a startup guide. Some information is in the app and YT channel, but not all. For example, if a palm scanner fails, the feature goes to sleep for 5 seconds. I only found out via e-mail. • Matter integration is built in, but it’s VERY rudimentary, limited only to lock on/off. An external Matter hub is needed. • The app’s scheduling features are minimal: I wanted to buy another Lockin Veno for my rental unit, but there is no way to set a time period, e.g., FROM Tue Oct 7 11 am TO Thu Oct 9, 9 am. The app for my existing Eufy lock does just that easily. I wanted to set a schedule for my housekeeper for every other Tuesday, but I can only do every Tuesday. You can set a ‘Periodic Password’ (requires a username too…), but the check-in/ check-out options are too limited. • Customer support responds to e-mail messages promptly, but my feature requests have not been implemented to date. • I could not figure out how to manage (mostly delete) stored events.
