    • They are magnetic enough that you could wave them around and they stay in place.
The sockets we had were so old that I think my husband's father used them as a mechanic and the magnetic quality was mostly lost from use. I had to get new ones, so they didn't slip off and break his knuckles. They are great.

    • Good for what they’re designed for, but very shallow and not too useful for mechanic work.
I thought these were regular sockets just permanently attached so they’d be more solid and nicer to use with my impact working on my car and motorcycle, but that’s not what they’re for. They are extremely shallow and designed for using flanged socket head type wood fasteners and the like, not nuts and bolts on vehicles ect. It’s a nice set, and they will hold a nut or bolt, but you’ll need to use a regular socket for anything with any depth, like nuts with any bolt exposed or acorn nuts ect. This means I don’t really use them as I always need my socket set anyways, so it’s easier to just not get these out. Still nice though especially if I ever have a job that uses exclusively flange head fasteners (the fasteners with the little built in washer looking thing on the bottom of the head). ... show more

I am an elevator mechanic and I thought these would not be handy because they are not deep. I was wrong. The magnet on these are strong and I use them any chance that I get to. As long as you're driving the head side of a bolt, these are handy. The soft case keeps them organized and I always know when someone didn't bring one back.
