  • Been trying to find this color everywhere!
Color: Jello
Lime Crime Unicorn Hair is literally my favorite hair dye brand and I've been trying to find this shade at stores forever and they never carry it. So happy to find this in stock online! The smell is amazing and the quality of this brand is so much better than any store brand. The vibrancy, color, and absorbency (don't know what other word to use because manic panic and artic fox would NOT penetrate my hair like this) is incredible. Only downside is it's rare to find and I keep seeing the same 5 shades in stores that I've already tried. Lime Crime PLEASE restock in Ulta and Sallys. ... show more

  • RAD.
Color: Jello
This was the first time I ever used Lime Crime hair color, and I’m super stoked on it so far. I had a hair stylist quote me around $425 to do an all over bleach and color 🤣 Sooo I ended up spending about $40 and did it myself just fine! Smells really nice, covered even at a light-dark blonde stage (I used “Jello”, and wanted a more swampy/olive green, so putting it on an orangey base was actually what I wanted to do). I have no idea what the longevity is like yet since I’ve only had it for about four days, but I’ve gotten it wet and conditioned every day with no color bleeding. Oh! It also didn’t make a god awful mess when I rinsed it out like a lot of semi permanent colors do! That was rad! It sucked up into my hair and the water ran clear almost instantly. Really hoping I’ll be able to keep it up with relatively low maintenance. So overall: Price is right. Smells great. Did not further damage my hair. Covered well. Great consistency. Easy rinse. ... show more

  • Fun and looks good!
Color: Genie
I started with Pony and was terrified of rinsing it out…too many times with dye it looks like a murder scene in your shower, but with this, nothing! Smells great, looks great. Excited to try out Genie now Update: Genie did cause some staining in the shower but still much less than other brands. Darker shade than pony so I anticipated there would be some. My hands were purple from rinsing but I washed them with conditioner and they went right back. This might be my new brand! ... show more

  • I love it!
Color: Jello
Pros: great smell, lime green depending on original hair shade, doesn't stain skin- I used alcohol wipes, haven't had any pillow case/towel/shower stains Cons: small-ish container, supposedly a temp color I love the sweet smell, it's easy to use, nicely packaged. Oh and the color? AMAZING! I had platinum/dirty blonde kinda mix before, thick hair and the green came out so even and vibrant. The picture included does zero justice haha. I've heard Unicorn hair is definitely more temporary, I do have quite a bit green still coming out but color hasn't faded yet, it's also been less than a week lol (tho I shower daily). I wouldn't say my hair feels super duper soft, I mean I bleached it 3 days in a row almost a month ago (btw please don't do that) so it's going to feel dead regardless the conditioner! ... show more

  • The Only Brand We Will Use
Color: Jello
The first time we tried this product I wasn’t impressed. The smell was off putting, the coverage wasn’t so great and neither was the longevity. I am unsure if maybe it was a bad batch, maybe the color choice, maybe they changed the formula since then but LC is the only brand we will use now. The colors are good and bright (especially blue, lasts forever), applies easy, nice smell, and your hair is so soft after rinsing. The only downfall is the customer service. The only way to contact them is through email or chat. ( I suggest using the chat option) it would be nice if you could actually call and speak to a person. Needless to say, I will be back for more! ... show more

  • Holy Fuchsia, Batman!
This is my first time ever dying my own hair. My "before" picture was taken about a year ago when I had my hair professionally highlighted for the first time, and most accurately depicts my hair color(s) as the sun has helped me maintain my lighter streaks. When looking for a good hair dye, I knew I wanted something only semi-permanent (in case I botched it and needed to scrub it out) and, preferably, a dark burgundy or maroon color, as I LOVE the effect of dark semi-natural looking hair that looks red or purple in the light. I knew getting an especially dark color would be difficult as a natural blonde, but the pictures from my fellow black/brown-haired reviewers inspired me to purchase this color (plus hey, it's called chocolate cherry, sounds like a perfect description of dark brown + red to me!) Unlike most other dyes I looked into, this one did NOT come with the other tools you need, such as gloves, a coloring bowl or, most notably, an applicator brush. My "thrifty" (clueless) self decided just dunking an unused toothbrush in the jar would be good enough. I started following a YouTube balayage tutorial but got carried away and before I knew it, my entire head (and eyebrows, not to mention gloves, ears, and neck) were saturated. Even after covering my whole head, I still have more than half the jar left! The directions say to wait at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours for the most vibrant and long-lasting results, so I waited one hour prior to taking a cold shower to rinse the dye out. As this was my first time, I didn't think too much while I flipped my hair all around with my head and fingers to get all the dye out. This may have been my biggest mistake, as the pink-ness splashed EVERYWHERE, and I am still finding new areas of my shower tiles to bleach and scrub down several days later. However, the dye truly made my hair feel SO GOOD, like better than after using a high-end conditioner, so getting to run my fingers all through that softness was worth it! As you can see from my photos (face contorted for some false sense of privacy), the results were SO VIVID! I was expecting a color result similar to the "medium blonde" depicted in the product photos, as that is what the majority of my hair color is. Instead it is a brilliant fuchsia color... that exact shade where you call it hot pink but any man will argue it's somehow purple. I am blown away by how well it blended with the varying shades of my highlights and natural hair color, however, creating a deeper burgundy near the roots and a highlighter pink in streaks. Despite the crazy color (my friends have now dubbed me "Skittles"), this variation left it feeling a little more natural-- not just like some bad LazyTown cosplay. I also took an old, mostly empty brown mascara and added perhaps half a teaspoon of the dye and have been applying that to my eyebrows to complete the look... that may be a terrible idea but it works for me so I thought I'd share. Last night I went for a run; I sweat a LOT and had seen reviews of some dyes warning that sweaty workouts may double as a tie-dying sesh for your clothes, but not at all for me with this dye! Afterwards in the shower I shampooed very thoroughly, mostly testing to see just how much might come out in one intensive shower, and noticed moderate fading near the roots but no change at all in vibrancy throughout the rest of my hair. I have since ordered shades of red, blue, and purple from Manic Panic to experiment with adding in a little different color to tone down the level of pink I was not expecting. TL;DR -- Pros: Easy to use despite not coming with tools, made my hair smell and feel great. A little goes a long way and I only needed half a jar. Color is vibrant, resilient, and truly unique. Cons: I'm still scrubbing the hot pink tint out of brushes, bathroom tiles, and my skin/fingernails. The color also leans more red/hot pink, while the photos show it as more purple; it's a brilliant color but lacking any more blue undertones. ... show more

Cannot praise this company enough. Used their color on long thick hair multiple times. I've used a lot of hair dye before.. for 22 years. Color doesn't last long, but that color never does. A month after use, my hair and vibrant and so neon I bet you could see it under UV. I felt so beautiful and it smelled like high end shampoo. Recommended it to everyone and anyone. Love this company. ... show more
