We can easily see our shared calendar, reminders, weather, and timers at a glance while everyone is getting ready in the morning or moving through the kitchen during the day. We mainly keep it in the kitchen, and it gets used constantly. It’s great for music while cooking, pulling up recipes, quick questions for Alexa, and checking our cameras. The display is clear and the sound quality is better than expected for a smart display. Apart from the usual Alexa features, I wanted test whether this unit can work on the Ethernet, instead of WiFi. With the right kind of adapter, it holds good on Ethernet, with occasional disconnections. So far I have two disconnections - first time when I restarted the device; and second time a random disconnection overnight. In both cases, I had to disconnect the power to the Ethernet adapter and then power it again. Here is the set up that I was able to get it connected to Ethernet: Peripherals needed: Amazon Ethernet Adapter for Amazon Fire TV ( https://a.co/d/5ko9pFm ) A power adapter for this (something similar to https://a.co/d/gjkdEkL but I reused my old fire phone power adapter and cable) Power up the Ethernet adapter with power from USB and connect it to the USB Micro port that Echo Show has, next to its power socket. That's it, its now connected to internet and unlike the old Echo Shows, the new ones will explicitly show a message that it is connected to wired network.

This has been a great addition to the household. It has been a great tool used by almost everybody. There have been a handful of glitches occurring. Primarily when swiping on the Home Screen, it will freeze and refresh back to the main screen. Other than that, it has been a great device to have.

Really enjoying the larger size of the Echo Show 21 relative to the smaller version that we’ve had on our kitchen wall for the past three years. The larger size allows for more widgets to be added per Home Screen, although not all widgets can assume multiple sizes. It’s much easier to watch TV on this size screen and the sound is excellent. Note that the screen is not anti-glare, so reflections are inevitable. I looked for some easy way to allow the screen to be tilted from side to side for better viewing, but the available monitor mounting brackets make it stick out too far from the wall. Since this wasn’t acceptable for my kitchen location, I just used the Amazon mounting brackets that is included with the Echo Show 21. This mounting bracket is excellent , but fixes the device against the wall with no adjustability. Bottom line, this is excellent value for the money given its high level of usefulness and entertainment value. I purchased as a Black Friday deal, with made it more cost-effective. Highly recommended!!

What an absolute hunk of junk. Alexa is useless, the Home Screen has one widget that I can’t edit or remove. Calendar syncing is archaic at best. It’s a crappy device at best but with a slick screen. EDIT: I got a phone call from Amazon about an hour after I left the original review. They had me run updates and the caller was nice enough, but it didn’t do anything to fix the heart of the problem. It did seem to lessen the lockups though. If you want a device that looks amazing, can do a lot of things but none of them well, then this is the device for you!
