  • Great play dome. Kids love it. Easy to build. Great play dome. Kids love it. Easy to build.
We purchased this for our two children a 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Both kids really enjoy playing on it though my son likes it the most. They use it for climbing and swinging from. They also will ask me to put a large tarp on it with some tarp bungee keepers and they use it as a large play house- Fort - store - school or what ever else they have dreamed up for the day. The build went quickly and smoothly with the help of my wife. I am very mechanically inclined she isn't so much but she is a great helper when I need an extra set of hands. We had the whole thing built in about 1.5 hours. That was with my OCD of making sure every piece was installed the same way. Meaning every joint looked like the picture and each connection was started from the same piece and went in clockwise or counter clockwise rotation. I know its bad but I wouldn't sleep at night knowing one blue piece was installed over a different red piece than all the others. Had we not had to deal with that issue we could have probably shaved another 15 minutes off. You will need a second set of hands to make this go quickly. The whole thing weighs around 100# as best I recall from the UPS label. The outer box showed was was in the package and was destroyed. The UPS man I see a few times a week wasn't impressed with the packaging. I opened up the box with fears something would be missing or damaged. Thankfully it had an internal box also that was completely intact. All items were included no extra pieces or screws, and nothing was missing. The only thing you have to be careful of is making sure its on level ground, or it can wobble or move around some. As for moving it for mowing it can be tricky. Do Not try and drag it as it will bend and get out of round. Also having two people try and pick it up from the sides can cause it to try and bend. The best thing I found is I get inside at the very middle and I pick it up on my shoulders and move it by myself to another area when mowing. This lets it support its weight evenly and not bend any joints. Overall we are happy with the product and the kids seem to really like it. I also included a picture of the pieces. You will get a lot of bars and have to build the whole thing. ... show more

  • Super Strong, Super Value, Super Long Lasting! Super Strong, Super Value, Super Long Lasting!
Update 6/10/2019 We've had this climber for 8 years now. It has sat out in the rain, snow and grass clippings, and looks brand new. Whatever paint they use, I want on my car. The only sign of age is very slight rusting on the bolts for the hand holds, but it isn't at all noticeable. My kids are teens now, but they won't let me give it away, they like to hang out on it and talk. Highly recommended! ------------------- This is one of the best products I've ever bought. It came very well packed, seems to be made of strong, high quality steel with a smooth coat of paint in good solid colors (red and blue). It came with very clear instructions that even an IKEA-clutz like myself could follow. It is important to follow the instructions, as the parts have to be assembled in a certain order, and it is important that the bars be placed in the order shown to ensure the handholds fit well. My only quibble about the instructions is that they say a 1/2" socket wrench "may" be necessary, but it is absolutely needed to put on the handles, and is very helpful for the other fittings. On the other hand, they say you need two adults to assemble it, and I did it myself in about two hours just by leaning it against a wall when needed. With all the fittings tightened up, the unit is rock-solid. It is rated for 600 pounds, and when this big guy climbed up to test the top handle, it barely moved. I put six kids on it easily. The kids loved it instantly and spent three hours on it. I think it will get years of use. One shipping note. The relatively small package weighs 105 pounds, and your UPS driver will have to get a second UPS employee to help unload. This delayed the delivery by two days. I received apology notes from both Amazon and UPS for the inconvenience. I can't believe Amazon ships this for free with Amazon Prime. The UPS folks took it all the way to the backyard and I took good care of them! ... show more

  • Easy assembly, strong product
The assembly was easier than expected. I’d definitely recommend downloading the app for the interactive manual. Two people makes it easier. Follow instructions exactly. I estimate about two hours, but if you make a mistake a redo steps it’d be significantly longer because in most cases you’d have to nearly start the whole process over, just because of the way it fits together. Wish it came with a few extra parts for when my kid spills the hardware all over the ground 😓 Product itself seems very durable and built to last years and years. I love that the bars are textured and easy to grip. They aren’t slick at all. The handholds at the joints are great for protection and stability so that’s nice. My 2 yo and 4 yo both love it but it’s quite big so my nieces and nephews up to 12 have also been enjoying it just as much. Definitely the kind of toy that grows with a kid. Incredibly study, it didn’t move or lift at all even before adding the anchors so I have no worries about it toppling. I think the weight limit is 600lbs. TL:DR Great product, sturdy and durable, good for 2yrs to adults, easy assembly. Good customer service. Update: after lots of play and a couple bad storms, this things still looks new and is still sturdy as ever. No regrets ... show more

  • Good purchase Good purchase
Overall, this is really good for the price. It is extremely sturdy and I hung a swing in the middle as I saw another reviewer do and it does quite well. It is sturdy enough that it does not rock the structure to have a nine-year-old 57 pounds swing on it. The paint is nice quality and does not scratch off and the rock climbing holders keep those parts from scratching when you climb over them. The only negative I would point out is the assembly is very difficult and takes a long time. There's really a two person job. When you start doing it you have to assemble the shapes and then put them together in a specific order. You'll start reading the directions and then feel like you have it from there but don't do that. You need to follow the order in the directions or you will end up having to take it apart and start over. It has to be put together in the right order. As far as what this actually is it gets a lot more attention than a typical swingset. It is the climbing and imaginative play shape that kids crave. I think this is a good purchase and worth adding to any backyard if you have the space. It is of the quality that it could be at a daycare or playground. It's 10 ft diameter (not radius as described). ... show more

  • Well made, relatively easy to assemble, and fun!
This climbing dome has proven to be a great deal of fun for our kids. We have three boys: 6, 6, and 3. They are all over this thing. It is big enough to be fun, but not so tall as I worry about them falling off, and the hand holds make falling much less likely. I found assembly to be easy...as long as you have two people. We laid out all the base sections (three pieces per section) and assembled them loosely. Then it was a matter of attaching all the connecting pieces. Once the base level is loosely assemebled, it is easy to add the top sections. There is quite a bit of bolting and unbolting to add additional pieces to the intersecting joints, but as as long as you don't tighten them this is easy and allows you to build the entire structure. After we had everything loosely attached I went through and tightened each point of intersection completely and added the hand holds. Having an electric drill made this much easier. The second person gave me someone to hold all the pieces together so I could easily lace the bolts through each piece. They are all color-coded and labeled making assembly easier. One word of caution is to pay attention to the order of the pieces at each point of intersection. It does matter which are on the outside and which are sandwiched between the others. This is explained well in the instructions, but it is easy to forget as you assemble numerous sections. It took two of us less than an hour to assemble. Then we picked it up and moved to its permanent location. This dome is very sturdy with excellent materials. I am 200 lbs and it supports me with ease. I am very pleased with it...especially considering the price. I highly recommend! ... show more

  • Solid Product
Was not sure of the quality based on the $175 price when others were more. This dome exceeded my expectations. Box is HEAVY. Assembly instructions were fine for me for the most part however i am mechanical by nature.. There were two different size handgrip in the package. It was challenging to try and figure out where and how they seat flush onto the rails as i didn't find answers in directions.. I'm pretty sure I put them in the right spots. I assembled the dome by myself in a little over two hours. If I had a helper it would have been easier and faster. Read reviews on bolts missing or snapping. I tightened each bolt to be tight. I did not overtighten. Nothing was missing or broken during installation. All parts were in the package. The dome is solid. I am 250lb and I can climb all over it with my granddaughter who is 3 with no creaking sounds or feeling of wobbly bars or instability. Its a rock solid product, I am impressed. We have it on the grass. We mostly move it with two adults to cut grass, but I usually slide/drag it back to its original position myself. I was worried that the bars would get hot to the touch in the sun. So far has not been a problem or prevented use on hot sunny days. Time will tell if it will hold up over time in the weather. So far signs are looking good. I am very optimistic. Update April 2022. Through first New England winter with dome being outside all winter. No discoloration or rust showing. Very happy. ... show more

  • Very sturdy (good build quality + strong geodesic shape)
Very sturdy (good build quality + strong geodesic shape). It doesn't move at all when I climb on top of it (~200 lbs). Not too heavy to move once assembled. We put it in the shade where grass doesn't grow quickly; I wouldn't want to have to move this every time the rest of the lawn needs mowing. It is quite large so be sure you have room for it with enough clearance on all sides. Assembled by myself in about 2 hours. Instructions were okay but it feels to me like there should be an easier way to assemble this. It had me assemble starfish shapes (large and unwieldy) and then connect them together; I think assembling triangles for the bottom row, and then adding the triangles of the second row, and then completing the top, would have been quite a bit easier. Perhaps they tried that and found it to be less sturdy or something. They should sell various covers for this dome so that kids can use it as an igloo/playhouse. Canvas triangles that velcroed to the bars would be perfect. I might buy some astroturf and cut it to size to go under this as well. A rigid board to attach to the top of the dome would be nice as well, so kids could sit up there. Rigid triangles for the whole thing could be good too. It would also be nice to have an optional climbing structure to go inside the dome space, especially for kids who too short to climb the outside of the dome. ... show more

  • Excellent Climbing Dome for the Backyard, Very Durable, Comfortable, and Fun!
This climbing dome is awesome and feels like an excellent quality for the price. It’s been holding up really well outdoors, even in strong sun and heat, and the materials still feel durable and solid. The bars can warm up in direct sun, but with a little shade they stay surprisingly comfortable to the touch. It’s a really fun climber for kids, and even my 5 year old has been able to use it despite it looking a little challenging at first. The built-in hand grips are nice and make climbing feel easier and more secure, and the slightly textured finish helps with grip so it doesn’t feel slippery. Assembly takes a little time, but the instructions are thorough, just definitely pay attention to the pole order during setup. Once together, it feels extremely sturdy, even more solid than some other playground climbers I’ve seen. I was even able to get on it myself at 220 lbs without any concerns. All in all, it’s colorful, durable, safe-feeling, and a huge hit with the young one! Definitely recommended! ... show more
