Description

This backboard combo from Lifetime Products features a 48" Shatter Proof Fusion Backboard and an orange Slam-It Rim. The backboard integrates a shatter proof playing surface with a blow-molded polyethylene frame. The graphics are screen-printed with UV-protected inks for superior color and protection against the elements. The 18" Slam-It Rim is made of 5/8" solid steel with 1/2" steel braces and double compression springs includes a heavy-duty nylon net. For the price, this is am amazing backboard! I purchased it for my 10 year old, and it is larger than most in this price point in my experience. The backboard is well made, and is constructed to allow for some dunking. It is not professional, and I suspect it would not hold up as such. But, for your kids, this a great option. My old Lifetime Pole and Backboard blew over one to many times and cracked the backboard. The pole has held up fine and I needed a replacement. This isn't as heavy duty as my old back board, that one was metal and weighed twice as much as this one. I will say though that this one has held up fine with no problems so far. I have the adjustable height bracket and this worked just fine with it. To tie this pole down and back board I bought 2 loop and hook anchors from home depot and a 500 lb ratchet tie down and strapped it to the ground. This one isn't going to blow over! ... show more

I can't review on how good a board it is because I had to turn round and order a mounting bracket for another $60. It's in the instructions how to mount the thing and conveniently says bracket not included. Why isn't the bracket included??? That's the one thing you need to hang it! Half tempted to return it and buy one that has everything needed out the box. ... show more

The instructions were not very clear and the bolt securing the backboard to the pole was2 inches to small. I had to go buy the correct size. I will not by another Lifetime product. EVER!!! My second bad experience with Lifetime.

If you had an original, it might be like this. You decide. Mine is still in the box because it is cold and windy. If you want to come put it together for me, I will write a better review. Probably not because it is still cold. And windy. Thanks for coming to my Amazon talk.
