  • T.H.E. Chair
Size: Space Gray 45cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
Be sure to read to the END. Environment. A few months back, I had a 22x38 inch fixed desktop with a pull-out tray for keyboard, etc. and a big name leather chair that did not have enough stuffing, that looked and felt underwhelming. Lumbar support was only up and down. No arms, and a big price. I work often, and sometimes long hours without breaks. Back, shoulder and neck pain were problematic. Discovery. Shopping online for a variable-height desk with a keyboard tray was an on-again/off-again activity. I finally outgrew my small desktop and got serious about buying a variable-height desk. One day, after watching a series of videos, one came up about computer desk chairs, and the gal mentioned the LiberNovo chair as the chair of the year and touched on high points about it. I wrote down the name to investigate it later. The promotional videos about the chair were very impressive. I watched the videos about the chair’s features, operation, etc. with real people in them. It deals with my back and shoulder pain the same way I do. For a person with back pain and shoulder pain, it sounded wonderful. It was unlike any dentist chair in recline; this chair supported your head perfectly through the entire movement. And the armrests move with you going down and up. The lumbar support that goes in-and-out. I was sold. I wanted one. Compared to big-name office chairs making similar claims about their products, whose prices are quite a bit higher, the LiberNovo chair price point is worthy of serious consideration. Evaluation. This chair is made of plastic components just like the big-name office chairs I’ve bought that lasted for years. It has fabric to support the lumbar stretching it provides. The videos showed how the chair can be adjusted to support your spine from your head to your butt. They showed the back of the chair flex to its occupant’s movements from side-to-side. I bookmarked videos about assembly of the chair. They showed two ways of measuring your body to determine the size of chair needed. Does anybody else offer you a chair size to measure? It’s a dramatic new approach. This was a chair like no other. It is truly a break-through in deign and comfort. It is the chair that others would like you to think they provide, but don’t deliver. In other words, the big-name chair makers can talk-the-talk, but do not show you real people in their chairs (walk-the-walk) to back up their claims. To me, that is where the rubber meets the road. Ordering. Unfortunately, the inventory of the size chair I needed was non-existent at the time. I kept looking. Finally, I saw the chair I wanted was available, and I took advantage of the opportunity. I decided to purchase through Amazon for the advantages it provides. I was provided a delivery date, and tracking information. The chair arrived earlier than stated, the footrest a few days later, and the rechargeable battery arrived on the date promised. Because you can purchase any combination of components, they each have their own packaging, and are shipped separately. It’s not the first product I ordered that had separate containers that could arrive on different dates. LiberNovo goes the extra mile to ensure you are not surprised about the delivery process. Delivery. The chair weighs 53 pounds. The box has no grip holes, so I borrowed a handcart to bring it in the house. After opening the carton, the first thing you see is a cardboard explaining how to assemble the chair. There is also some literature to explain other information. I unpacked the container and laid out the components, including needed tools, before commencing assembly. In removing the cushioned components from the carton, I was amazed at how thick and soft they were. For me, the instructions, at times, required some investigation and thought before execution. And, thus there was no difficulty in assembly. The footrest package also had a cardboard at the top showing how to assemble it. Again, the process was straightforward and easy to complete. The experience. After assembly, when I first sat in the chair, I couldn’t believe how great the lumbar, and head-neck-shoulder support were. Amazing! And then I worked on fine-tuning the adjustments as noted in the literature to make it even better. Previously, I had one tall desk chair, but none with a headrest because, from their appearance, I perceived them to be more cosmetic than therapeutic. This one is adjustable up/down, forward/back, PLUS tilt. Not to mention how nice the cushions feel. The armrests have more adjustments than any other chair I have ever experienced. I never had a chair like this before. It has support in contact with my body where it aches in all of its four positions. Yes, when your back is fully-supported by the chair back, it will bend and twist with your torso. I have used the lumbar stretching feature with the footrest. It’s a nice extra when you have been sitting a number of hours without a break. Then, because of the LiberNovo posture video with the person sitting properly against the chair back that I was not doing that. I was still sitting with my elbows on the desktop to get closer to the screen to read my documents/spreadsheets. My body had been telling me that too. So I spent time adjusting the magnification of the panels I use so I could emulate the correct posture and enjoy the benefits of this chair. My body is thanking me. Also, as a result of the change, I am less intense while working and more relaxed. Reflection. Now, I sit in my new chair at my desk with a keyboard tray, and everything is dynamically adjustable. And recall where I started. What a difference! My workspace has been completely transformed. In summary, if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got. And, that’s my two cents. ... show more

  • Tis good…however
Size: Midnight Black 48cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
Chair is good, however I wish the seat was a little deeper and more cushioned. I’m 6’ and have almost 3” of unsupported leg (sounds weird) that my previous chair covered. With that my legs feel tired at the end of a long day due to lack of support. The cushion is nice and squishy, however it compresses fully when sitting (I’m 190 lbs) and feels rather hard after compressed. The arm on my previous chair broken so I got this one to replace it. It is good for now, but I think I’m going to try and fix the chair I’ve had for 20 years. ... show more

  • Great for Relaxing / Not for Work
Size: Midnight Black 48cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
Since it's darn near impossible to get honest reviews through the swath of marketing on this new product, maybe I can help. I want to focus on elements that don't seem to be addressed in any other reviews online. FIRST: Libernovo will NOT post any critical reviews of their product on their website. That should be your first warning. SECOND: If you typically have issues with your tailbone, be warned: The seat feels like a gel cushion on a fence post when upright for work. The back cushion feels good, as does the head rest, but any reviews calling this an S-tier chair should be called into question THIRD: The fabric, while stretchy, will collect every single hair and piece of lint in your house before you even sit on it. If you have pets, think twice. FOURTH: Although build-quality is addressed in many videos, to me they feel 3D printed, which might explain the sharpness of the individual components. It doesn't seem to affect sturdiness, but it will be difficult to know how it is long-term. FIFTH: Several parts seem to connect with no way to disconnect them later once they are locked in place. SIXTH: Okay, this one is good. Some reviewers have indicated that the electronic stretch is a bit gimmicky, but I actually found it quite good for what it was. In a reclined position, it definitely added to the experience. OVERALL: Take any low to mid-quality chair and add a gel pad, and you have an equivalent product. It's absolutely impossible to sit upright in and type without feeling like you are sitting on a pole. Reclined, it's relaxing and passable, but that's not what I'm paying a premium for. ... show more

  • it's good. Cheaper than the gaming embody and way more comfortable than my Leap V2.
Size: Midnight Black 48cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
It is a good chair. It is a big chair. The plastic feels cheap but once you use it you realize that is not the case. The arm rest are sensitive and move around but I find that is good because they move with my arm to the spots where my arms need support. I bought the bundle that includes the chair, the foot rest and the extra battery. The Footrest does feel a but cheap and it doesnt have the thick padding that I thought it would. When your feet or legs are on the top of the foot rest you can feel the plastic bottom below the padding. I bought some velcro straps and strapped a Mypillow Travel pillow to the top of it and now it is perfect. I would have skipped the foot rest and just went for the extra battery but only because I had another better footrest from a nursing chair. If you dont have another footrest them pick it up and if you dont feel comfortable with it then do what I did and velcro strap a pillow down on the top and you are good to go. The chair was not hard to put together and It was here 4 days after I ordered it. It is a bit expensive but is better than my Steelseries Leap v2. All the padding and head rest and arm rest are bigger. I am about 5'5 and 180 pounds. The full recline is great but I have not used it as much as I thoght I would I will probably use it more when watching movies from my desk. Not for gaming. Also I added my own wheels to the chair. The ones they sell through libernovo are way overpriced. You can get some good ones that look like rollarblade wheels for $20-30 on amazon. They are polyurathan and they make the chair much more quiet on wood floors or hard floors and they roll over carpets much better. ... show more

  • Good Chair

Love the chair for the most part. Back support great. Foot rest great. The wheels are a problem, they do not move smoothly around.

  • Not worth the price.
Size: Midnight Black 48cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
I had this chair for a few days. I switch chairs to this one because the butt padding on the other chair was not study enough or not enough padding or something as it felt there was none. I figure this one for the price might be cushioned enough just for that It is not. My other chair is more cushioned then this one. The chair in my opinion is truly not worth the price. The chair is uncomfortable to sit in. I am always adjusting how I sit in the chair. The back of the chair is very straight and stiff. You might can get a work out with doing situps in it. HAHA. Yes, there is a tension adjustment for that. The back decompression I think it is called. Well how can I explain that. Go sit in your vehicle and get same results . If you have heated seats in your vehicle even better then the chair. that is best as I can explain that part. It is what sold me on the chair to begin with. After trying it. Big mistake as like I said sit in your vehicle. I know my vehicle is more comfortable then the chair. On a good note about the chair is It rolls smoothly on the floor . It is sturdy, easy to assemble. I will be returning it. ... show more

  • It’s legit and worth the cost It’s legit and worth the cost
Size: Midnight Black 48cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
I sit in this chair 4-5 days a week 6-9 hours a day. It’s been the best upgrade I’ve made to my home office set up. The comfort is legit. The seat cushion is firm enough that it doesn’t flatten out after a few hours. I used to get that “numb” feeling in cheaper chairs. That’s not happening here. The back support and quality design helps me to sit upright without feeling forced. I’ve noticed less lower back fatigue at the end of the day. The headrest is a huge win. Especially during calls if I need to just lean back for a few minutes. It’s adjustability to lean all the way back and change the arm rests makes this easy to work with. Nothing creaks and nothing feels cheap. I’d highly recommend this chair to anyone sitting at a desk for a living. ... show more

  • Comfortable and it actually helped my back pain
Size: Midnight Black 48cm Style: Chair + Footrest + Extra Battery
This chair is much more comfortable than the chair it replaced (a Hon Ignition 2.0). It helps my back pain and I actually use the adjustments waaaay more than I thought I would. It's nice to be able to adjust the lumbar and increase/decrease support via buttons instead of trying to reach around and mess with levers. Not saying that necessarily justifies the cost, but it *is* nice. The four preset levels of tilt might be my favorite feature though. On the Hon Ignition, it was either (1) rigid upright or (2) tilt until as far as gravity wishes. This chair has four presets you adjust via a switch-like lever: Upright, Slight Recline, Significant Recline, and Almost-Flat-and-it-feels-like-the-chair-might-tip-over-on-the-way-back-the-first-few-times-you-try-it. I thought it was clever that the lever orientation corresponds to the presets (i.e., straight up, two diagonals at gradual severity, and horizontal). I guess I'm easily amused. If you do get this, I'd recommend getting the footrest. It really balances out the more reclined setting. The extra battery is handy, but you could certainly live without it. I've used the chair for a few weeks now and have adjusted it a few times every day. Still haven't had to swap out or charge the battery, so one battery/charge gives you plenty of use time. Guess I'll find out how long the battery actually lives (regarding usable lifetime). Assembly was a little tricky, but if you really pay attention to the pictures it's not too bad. It comes in a pretty big box, so you may need to unpack and move it into your intended room piece by piece. ... show more
