Very hard to find a player that has a repeat play feature, this one does. You start the movie, press repeat, and walk away, it will play over and over if that is something you need. You must wait for the movie to start, if you do it while it is playing previews, or menu or whatever-it will just repeat that over and over and not play the movie. It's small too so doesn't take a lot of space or look overwhelmingly ugly. ... show more

    • Works Great But Sometimes will make loud Disc Noise
Had this for a few months and it works great om Blu Ray's and DVDs. Very nice picture. Lots of features, easy to set up and use. I don't have a smart TV or any of the extra equipment or internet/streaming stuff this device can connect to, so I can't comment on those functions. But I got it to have these options in the future. The only thing negative I can say about it is it occasionally makes a loud noise from the disc tray while it's playing that can last a long time. If you turn up the volume loud enough it masks the noise and you eventually forget it's there. Not sure why it makes the noise sometimes and sometimes doesnt. ... show more

I went for a higher end model instead of the cheapest, because I was frustrated with the top-tier brand (which was much cheaper). This one has a faster CPU, but suffers other issues which are worse than the ones I left behind. When I drop a C-note on a Blu-Ray player, I want it to play Blu-Ray discs smoothly ands withnout interruption. Is that so much to ask? Evidently it is. It keeps dropping the WiFi. The access point is literally 11 feet from the access point, direct line of sight with no obstructions, and it is a good quality AP. No issues with any other devices staying connected. If I go into the network settings to reconnect it, I have to input the security key again which is onerous on a remote. If I just press the "Title/Popup" button on the remote to make the message go away, it will sometimes reconnect and stay working for a long time, and sometimes it will require doing this several times. I don't need internet to play a Blu-Ray disc, and leaving the Wi-Fi unconfigureds still pops up annoying prompts randomly. I would be perfectly happy if it had no networking AT ALL. I have another, superior device for streaming services. But there is no option to disable the networking in this unit. It's very picky about which MKV videos it will play, and there are no firmware updates to add more formats to its capability. Too late to return, or I totally would.     • Good player with some really bad UI issues

I got this player along with a small 720p TV to play primarily TV shows on a portable hard drive in our bedroom (replacing an old TV/VCR combo). This function works quite well. However, heaven forbid there should be any glitch in your network, or an undismissable dialog box pops up over the playing video telling you to check your network connection. If I respond to this prompt and reenter my settings, it then puts the Home menu on top of the video and requires me to select a new track to play even though one is already playing below it. This is really irritating. Add on to that that it's impossible to remove the network settings without doing a full initialize (which makes you setup everything again. This BD player also does not have any way to set "night mode" - every time it flips between files, the player flashes a pure white screen, where it would be nice to have it be black between files. The player itself works well and delivers a good picture overall, and it meets our needs. The SIMPLINK feature shared between the BD player and the TV is also very nice - it's convenient to control both devices with one remote, though having a Sleep timer on the BD remote would make it even more useful. ... show more
