Best investment ever for the summer. Air conditioner is quiet, effective and although used in a larger open space than the BTU was meant for, it cools and dehumidifies great. Dual inverter technology works great although start up is a bit slow. Also heavy like a Friedrichs due to the dual inverter. Have to see how long this LG will last as I've only had it for a month. Using it every day so we'll see how cost efficient it is at the end of the month. Filter door opens out in front so very easy to take out and wash and love the look of the solid door. It intakes air through the bottom and sides of the door. I don't use the remote or WiFi features so can't comment. It's easy enough to get up and walk over to turn it on and off and adjust fan strength and temperature. ... show more

    • Quiet and Effective
In the past I have used several cheap window AC units that, at the time, I thought were pretty solid. This LG unit is vastly better. First off this unit is relatively large and heavy compared to the cheap 5,000 BTU units and looks to have a much better build quality. When in use the LG is impressively quiet, the fan makes a gentle kind of whisper like noise thats very unobtrusive. Most AC units cycle their compressors on and off roughly every few minutes, this turning on/off of the compressor makes a distinctive that is generally pretty noticeable especially if you're trying to sleep. This LG unit (and other inverter AC units) can adjust the compressor speed without turning the compressor off so theres no abrupt noise change as the unit increases/decreases output. Maybe not a huge deal but I think its nice. This LG unit effectively cools 2 rooms (600 sq. ft.), with a fan helping circulate air, when its 90 *F outside so it seems to be pretty powerful. Based on the SEER rating it should use somewhere around 30% less energy vs. cheaper units so it should save money over the long term. ... show more

The functionality of this AC has worked well for me. It is easier on a shared 15 amp circuit due to its dual inverter which most other window units do not have. You generally need an outdoor split unit to get that. So you don't get that sudden power demand, it gently ramps up in speed. Air quality is no different than other window units, which I am not a fan of, but it was needed asap, so this was quick to install. Window units can suck in outside replacement air, and I live near a busy highway. Shuts off as it should. This unit has worked well with 70 days this year over 110°. So it was put to the test! It's just used for a large bedroom. When it's 116° in a block house without wall insulation, nothing is perfect on those days, but it pumped-out cold air continuously 24/7 all summer. Don't buy a non-insulated house built like an oven in the desert... ... show more

    • Super Quiet, Super Cool, Super Efficient!
This AC is the equivalent of a hybrid car. You know when you're driving a hybrid car, or if you pull up alongside one at a stop light... you have to ask yourself... is this thing on? This AC is so quiet, I sometimes have to stand in front of it to make sure it's on... it really doesn't make much noise at all. And the sounds it emits are more like soothing white noise. The wifi capability is great. You can use your phone or tablet as an extra remote or turn the AC on or off remotely when you're not even home. And the filter monitoring feature is a real convenient thing... the AC tells you (on the unit as well as a notification through the app) when the filter needs changing. This is the best air conditioner I have ever owned... and it's much more energy efficient and therefore much cheaper to run than most other ACs. I really like this A/C. Its NOT the quietest. That goes to Midea but it does move air & the rooms get cooled quickly. Now, the issue comes.. When i installed this A/C, it put the bracket (That does not come with it) tilted so that the water could go towards the back. All three of them but one day in the morning, I turned it on for 20 minutes and when I looked at my floor, i see a leak. Water was on the floor! Water came from the front and It was about 5 feet long and 2 feet wide of water. Thankfully i was there to stop it but thats not the point. How about if i wasn't there? I turned the A/C on through the app 40 minutes before i got home? Then what? It would have ruined electronics. furniture etc. As much as I love these A/C's, They will be returned. I cannot risk my belongings like this. ... show more

My first window unit. My mini split died. This was installed yesterday here in Arkansas. 400 sq ft cabin. 99° and humid. It cooled quickly and quietly. Also attractive clean look. Easy to install even for the inexperienced. May edit later if my experience changes. For now I am quite pleased

Amazon deleted my old negative review. I have no clue why, I did not break a single guideline but I got an email saying my review broke guidelines, annoying but whatever. That being said, it's allowed me to come back and make a new review, and actually I had a slight change of heart. (Pls don't delete this review Jeff). Anyways, last time I gave this a 2 star, I was really upset because the installation is trash and NOT easy like it advertised. Blah blah blah, I'm not gonna go into detail like I did last time but basically they give you two thin L brackets to balance the unit on, it's an awful design, and not EASY. That being said, I installed it DIY style, put some brackets up, drilled some extra holes, once I got it up and turned it on, I could see why people like this thing. It runs...really well. It's not loud, it cools FAST, has great smart features, so I have it set to turn on only at night, thanks to the duel inverter it doesn't turn on suddenly, it stays on but will cool more or less to keep the temp steady, it's a nice window AC unit. If you can figure out a good way to install it, it's the best windoe ac unit I've ever owned. ... show more
