  • Ulanzi Is Killing It!
The media could not be loaded. I'm in love with this tripod. There are so many pro level features that I'm sure I'll forget some. The legs are amazing and can be extended to the last stop with a twist of the foot and a pull on the leg. I'm not tossing my flip-lever (and heavy) Manfrotto but it's annoying using that type of leg locking system when you know the Ulanzi system exists. They're really easy to adjust and you can get super low angles. Of course the tripod uses Ulanzi's Falcam F38 quick release system so it's super easy and fast to switch rigs or to pack up in a hurry if the weather turns on you. It's also Arca-Swiss compatible. I wish the plates would fit the PD capture clip but I understand why they don't. Ulanzi does make a highbred plate that fits both that you can buy separately (I bought one). The bowl head is very easy to lock, unlock, pan and manipulate. There are lot's of knobs and levers but once you play with it for a few minutes they all make sense and are easy to use. Most of time my Sony a7 IV is mounted on the tripod and it handles its weight no problem. I just bought a Sony f4 70-200 G ii for my a7 IV. I'm going to try that setup on the tripod this weekend. I'll update if there are any issues but I have no doubt there won't be. The hidden phone mount is nifty. Not sure how much I'll use it but it's nice to know it's there if I need it. When hidden there's a small hook for a bag or small backpack to help keep your rig on the ground in windy weather. One of the things I like best about Ulanzi is how they pay attention to little things. There's a small Allen wrench nestled in the head just under the plate that of course works in the 1/4 screw of the plate. That's not the cool part though. The wrench, once you start to insert it into the hole in the head of the tripod zips the rest of the way in by itself and is held in place by a magnet. Awesome! Hopefully no more lost Allen wrenches at the worst time for me. The only thing that concerns me is the clicky mechanism in the legs. You can't see them of course but I'm just not sure how they'll stand up to continual use. They're great so far and I have nothing to base my concern on other than this is the first tripod that I've bought that uses this mechanism. Time will tell but I'm sure that Ulanzi tested the heck out of this system so I'm not too concerned. I'm really impressed with this tripod. It's light, has some amazing features and works great so far. The build quality is superb! Well worth the $250 I spent on it. Would highly recommend if you're in the market for a lightweight tripod. I plan to use it for both videography and photography (probably more photography). ... show more

  • A little too expensive for what it is
I received this tripod yesterday, right away I started playing with it. What I like; a) light, center column can be divided in two parts for low shots. b) it brings an attachment for cellular phone for zoom meetings or blogs. c) I would say stability is good, I have not try in the field but was able to hold the Nikon Z8 with the 160-600 lens. Once I make sure legs were secured. Now; a) the design is good, but the gadgets to work with the fluid head are too small and does not seem to secure the movements in a confident way. b) I found it a bit expensive for what it is and do. Only time will tell if the leg system is sturdy enough to continue in service. For sure I can use it, but I was hoping to upgrade from my aluminum tripods with confidence. I gave 4 stars, should be 3.8. ... show more

  • Perfect travel tripod
Absolutely love this tripod for travel. It's extremely lightweight, and telescopes down to a super small and manageable size. At it's full length, it gets plenty high. The fluid head is also fantastic, while still maintaining a small size. Oh and the F38 quick release design is a game changer. Legit. This tripod brought me on board to the F38 craze, and now all of my other equipment has F38 plates attached to them. Yes, it gets expensive, but the ease of use is extremely worth it. I purchased this tripod last year, and unfortunately one of the legs broke. However, ULANZI customer service was able to get me a replacement via their email contact. Love that they stand behind their products! ... show more

  • Very very useful & affordable
The BEST tripod I've ever used. The tripod is tiny, light, and has a quick release system, allowing the user to easily attach and detach the camera. It also comes with a small phone holder that can be attached to the quick release system. it has fluid head for video work which allows for smoother panning and tilting, in addition you can use the fluid head for photography or you can remove it and use any ball head. Also it has many features including the adjustable tension knob, the roll control, and the detachable center column. Finally, This tripod is the best value for the money. ... show more

  • Lightweight and stable, but failed after 8 months or so
I loved using this tripod for travel, it's stable and lightweight and easy to setup, but one day the screw for the main shaft just locked and I could never adjust the height of the main shaft again. I used to recommend this tripod to everyone I could but I might think twice now after this issue.

  • Unstable, Weak Legs
The weight limit is not 10 kilograms (22lbs), it is about 3.6 kilograms (8lbs). Very low weight limit, very weak legs. The plate has no tension lock, very unsecured. Perfect for a travel camera and a mic, but not much more than that. Seller should update the item description to reflect the true weight capacity. Anything more than 8lbs and the legs slowly retract down. The twist locks sound very unpleasant and sound like they are breaking when tightening and loosening. ... show more
