  • Ulanzi Is Killing It!
The media could not be loaded. I'm in love with this tripod. There are so many pro level features that I'm sure I'll forget some. The legs are amazing and can be extended to the last stop with a twist of the foot and a pull on the leg. I'm not tossing my flip-lever (and heavy) Manfrotto but it's annoying using that type of leg locking system when you know the Ulanzi system exists. They're really easy to adjust and you can get super low angles. Of course the tripod uses Ulanzi's Falcam F38 quick release system so it's super easy and fast to switch rigs or to pack up in a hurry if the weather turns on you. It's also Arca-Swiss compatible. I wish the plates would fit the PD capture clip but I understand why they don't. Ulanzi does make a highbred plate that fits both that you can buy separately (I bought one). The bowl head is very easy to lock, unlock, pan and manipulate. There are lot's of knobs and levers but once you play with it for a few minutes they all make sense and are easy to use. Most of time my Sony a7 IV is mounted on the tripod and it handles its weight no problem. I just bought a Sony f4 70-200 G ii for my a7 IV. I'm going to try that setup on the tripod this weekend. I'll update if there are any issues but I have no doubt there won't be. The hidden phone mount is nifty. Not sure how much I'll use it but it's nice to know it's there if I need it. When hidden there's a small hook for a bag or small backpack to help keep your rig on the ground in windy weather. One of the things I like best about Ulanzi is how they pay attention to little things. There's a small Allen wrench nestled in the head just under the plate that of course works in the 1/4 screw of the plate. That's not the cool part though. The wrench, once you start to insert it into the hole in the head of the tripod zips the rest of the way in by itself and is held in place by a magnet. Awesome! Hopefully no more lost Allen wrenches at the worst time for me. The only thing that concerns me is the clicky mechanism in the legs. You can't see them of course but I'm just not sure how they'll stand up to continual use. They're great so far and I have nothing to base my concern on other than this is the first tripod that I've bought that uses this mechanism. Time will tell but I'm sure that Ulanzi tested the heck out of this system so I'm not too concerned. I'm really impressed with this tripod. It's light, has some amazing features and works great so far. The build quality is superb! Well worth the $250 I spent on it. Would highly recommend if you're in the market for a lightweight tripod. I plan to use it for both videography and photography (probably more photography). ... show more

  • This might be the best travel tripod
I have only used it for a few days, so I can't comment on the longevity of the tripod. But it is a very lightweight and highly usable tripod. I fell in love with this right after I took it out of the box. My other tripod is the Peak design CF which cost me something insane (like $600) a few years back. This one will potentially replace that. At this cost - this is a really good tripod. Also, the F38 system rocks. ... show more

  • Still 4 stars, but... Why Ulanzi? Just why? :(
Don't get me wrong, this tripod is probably the easiest and fastest to setup in comparison tp every single competitor options, it is also lightweight and low profile that it makes it such a good option for travel or quick shoots. Although the carry capacity before the legs start sinking is not out of this world, it serves it's purpose. However, I have a gripe that is so dumb yet infuriating, the Quick Release Plate... Why??? Although it mentions to be a 38mm Arca Swiss (which is the standard), it has an issue that the plate is not compatible with other Arca Swiss Base's since the horizontal borders are way too low and won't get locked in, but even worse the other way around, the Arca Swiss Base on top of the tripod, doesn't fit any other plate that is not an F38 from... You guessed it, Ulanzi themselves. It's such a small gripe and I wished the solution didn't imply spending more money to be compatible with other Arca Swiss Plates in case you have based your setup around them, since this was the only equipment that had a different plate, I had to get a PGYTECH Quick Release Plate+adapter kit to place on top of the quick release plate of the tripod to make sure I could have compatibility. I guess Ulanzi weren't expecting that, but instead wishing for everyone to buy their Plates that are incompatible with everything else. ... show more

  • Quick release plate is missing
The legs seem fragile but it’s actually sturdy enough when extended and mounted on a flat surface. Mine came without a quick release plate so I’m returning it and getting a new one. I think someone returned it without including the plate and the seller didn’t even check it. One problem I found is that the ball head platform isn’t leveled correctly when the up&down locking knob is unlocked. ... show more

  • Very very useful & affordable
The BEST tripod I've ever used. The tripod is tiny, light, and has a quick release system, allowing the user to easily attach and detach the camera. It also comes with a small phone holder that can be attached to the quick release system. it has fluid head for video work which allows for smoother panning and tilting, in addition you can use the fluid head for photography or you can remove it and use any ball head. Also it has many features including the adjustable tension knob, the roll control, and the detachable center column. Finally, This tripod is the best value for the money. ... show more

  • Unstable, Weak Legs
The weight limit is not 10 kilograms (22lbs), it is about 3.6 kilograms (8lbs). Very low weight limit, very weak legs. The plate has no tension lock, very unsecured. Perfect for a travel camera and a mic, but not much more than that. Seller should update the item description to reflect the true weight capacity. Anything more than 8lbs and the legs slowly retract down. The twist locks sound very unpleasant and sound like they are breaking when tightening and loosening. ... show more
