Lets start at packaging and setup. The printer is very well packaged without too much excessive packaging. It is well thought out making it easy to find all the tape and pieces that need to be removed to finalize the setup. Setup Wizard - Easy to use, nice onscreen keyboard, and not overly complicated. Build Quality - This system is well thought out in MOST areas. Extension for the automatic scanner trays, for the print output etc. I'm disappointed in the feel of the paper tray and the bypass tray. It doesn't live up to the quality/thickness of the plastic across the rest of the printer. Print quality/Speed - Wow. From cold to first print is by far the fastest I've experienced on a home color laser. The quality rivals that of lasers in a higher tier. Other thoughts - Lexmark, why does this not support 5ghz Wifi?! Very disappointed this is stuck on 2.4ghz, I'm of the opinion that any device sold within the past 5 years should have/support 5ghz networks. The bypass tray is just that, bypass, it is not intended for special sizes and can't be used as a couple sheet tray 2. This is a bit disappointing, but it is not something I commonly use on past printers. With power comes noise. It is a bit noiser (fan noise) than I expected, but that's just a trade off for its small size and print quality. The printer was natively found and installed by Microsoft Windows (over Wifi), no special drivers needed or hoops to jump through. Just received this printer and I love the compactness. No print out tray to push in and out. Less likely to run into the tray. Initial setup was Loud. Printing is quiet and fast. I wish there was a manual in the box vs pdf download. Save the download for the Lexmark software cd that won't work on newer laptops with no cd drive. Looking forward to cloud faxing and printing photos and comparing quality to non-laser color all-in-one. I received a special deal on this product for providing my feedback. ... show more

I have owned very basic home printers and scanners but I work in the social services field so I am familiar with many other types of printers and scanners. Anyone that knows the social services field, knows that efficiency is everything. I really needed a printer that was able to print more than one page an hour( not literally) and I needed something high-quality. I was very impressed with this printer. First of all, I was indeed very nervous to set it up. First the packaging. I liked that the printer came in a sturdy box and thick styrofoam protecting the printer. I then became nervous to set it up but once I turned it on, I really enjoyed the fact that there are prompts telling you where to look and where to open to take off protective films and plastics. It also had instructions and a QR code that you scan and is very useful for setting up so I think even a person new to a more advanced printer can learn and set it up without an issue. In my opinion, I am very tech savvy but it's always the “setting up” part that is normally challenging but you will love this because it is fairly easy. Let's talk about the quality of the printer. I think it will outlive many others. It feels pretty sturdy. The bypass tray is the only thin area and I understand it is supposed to be but this is a part that may need some replacing if not careful with. Printing itself. I needed to do a fair amount of home assessments on clients. I work hybrid so having a great printer was important to me. It is fairly tiring to need to go to my works printer because my old one was too slow. This paperwork printed so fast and beautifully that I was done printing many packets in no time. There was no smudging or strange shadowing which I can say has happened with the more inexpensive printers. Scanning capabilities are also great but I was hoping the screen on the printer was a bit bigger to enter the scanning destination a bit easier. Copying was also just as easy and I had no concerns or issues. So far the entire printer has been great. I haven’t figured out its definite spot but though it's not the lightest, it is not a difficult task to carry. Please keep in mind that these toners will not be the most inexpensive, but I personally will have no issue purchasing toner for a printer that delivers great results. You will love it. ... show more

    • I did not find setup easy
Setting up the scanning portion of this printer was awful. I am not a computer savvy person, but I can find my way around eventually. Trying to figure this function out took me 2 hours. The online manuals/setup claim your IP address will show on the LCD screen after power up. Mine did not. Only after asking google a thousand and one questions did I land on the right video to show me the way. I think this printer is too technical for the average Joe/average home use. ... show more

    • Fast and high quality printer
Although I gave this a high rating - there are some issues with this printer - if any of the 4 ink toner cartridges are low - this printer will not print until it is replaced. That means be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars to have a back-up set of ink cartridges on hand. After installing the printer, and less than one month after use with low printer use, the Cyan toner ran out - I assume that they do not sell the printer with high capacity toner cartridges - therefore, I could not use my printer for over a week until I received new ones. The new ones claimed to be high capacity - but I need to wait to see if this is true. ... show more
