  • Worth the price
Capacity: 4TB Style: SSD
Bought 4 of these to upgrade my media server as my old 1tb hard drives were getting full and it was cheaper then buying a new NAS drive. My Nas drive only has 4 ports for a rack mount NAS and its now at 16 tb vs 4 tb. Speed test were what they claimed and size was what they claimed. No complaints all 4 worked as intended. ... show more

  • Great company!! (Was: Failed after 2 months)
Capacity: 4TB Style: SSD
UPDATE: My original review is below. If you read it, you can probably tell I was done with this product. But the manufacturer reached out to me to make this right. They never asked me to change my review, but based on their actions, I feel I owe it to other customers to update this...as well as to Leven. They voluntarily replaced the drive with a new one! The new drive is working 100% perfect after some stress testing. So my original impression was related to the unit I received...not a general assessment of their product line. Working with Leven to return the faulty drive and coordinate the new unit was super easy. This is a good company standing behind their product! -------------- Original review ---------------------- I purchased the 4TB version to use in a Proxmox virtualization server. Upon initial setup, it worked great. But after ~2 months of use (and after the return window closed), the drive began having issues. It heated up so it began to stop responding to the controller and I encountered many many errors & timeouts. I finally replaced the drive with a Samsung 2TB ... smaller, but I couldn't afford the larger 4TB. So now I have a useless $300USD flaky drive. So frustrating... ... show more

  • REVIEW FOLLOW-UP DO NOT BUY THIS DRIVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT
The warranty on this drive is illusory. Manufacturer claims there is a warranty on the drive, but does all it can to avoid honoring the warranty. Once you provide proof of purchase and photographs of the drive, support staff then repeatedly made a series of nonsensical requests to send them a video of how the drive was working before it broke down. Here is a sample of the requests, which support staff repeatedly refused to explain: In order to save time and provide a specific solution to your issues, could you also provide me with videos of your operating procedures? Please provide a video showing your operation of the computer five months before the drive broke down After you give me the videos of how you process, I will let you know what to do next, or provide you with a specific solution. Thank you. Despite these requests, the manufacturer had the following information, which any reasonable person would conclude there is a basis to believe the drive is defective and should be examined: 1. The drive worked for 5 months, and then suddenly stopped working. It was not dropped, reformatted or even moved. The computer configuration did not change. 2. The drive is not listed as a drive on the computer. Disk initialization failed. The drive makes a high pitched whine, which is most likely the sign of a bad capacitor. 3. The drive was tried in another computer, and it also was not recognized, and the same high pitched whine was heard. 4. Another manufacturer’s SSD 2 TB was installed using the same cables, the same port, and it initialized and is working properly. No changes in configuration were required. If this were not enough, with Amazon’s support, contacted the manufacturer again, and they claimed not to have received the requested materials. The materials were sent through Amazon’s message system. When requested to provide (as requested by Amazon) an email address or drop box, ignored did not respond. In sum, if you are prepared to throw away your money if a hard drive proves defective (and one could well believe the drive is cheaper because of the lack of durable components), this is the drive for you. Don’t expect Leven to stand behind their product. Amazon stepped in and provided the warranty. payment Amazon respects its customers. Lastly, examine your SSD and determine whether it was a returned drive. Check the void if removed sticker carefully, it may have been cut in the center, and sold as new. If you want a relatively cheaper SSD of identical size, consider the HP. It is only slightly more expensive. ... show more

  • Plenty of storage. Great movie drive.
Capacity: 4TB Style: SSD
Formatting took a while because of its massive size, but it did well and now I have plenty of room to store my old movies and tv shows. It's so lightweight but does not overheat, stays under 60 degrees. I prefer using SSDs over rotating drives because of the noise you hear from the spindle. With these SSD's they are completely silent and plenty fast. I haven't tested the read and write speed yet, but if you do plan on copying large files over 4Gig you may see speeds drop under 100 MB/s. Best to copy 1 file at a time to avoid drops. ... show more
