Not UL listed... the seller has no shame it seems. Both "EV HOOD" and "OMT ORION MOTOR TECH" appear to be registered trademarks of an "Asteroid Trading Limited" in Hong Kong, so it is presumably all one company. The product looks nice, and the configurable current is a handy feature if you want that. It does cut off the charge if the EV ever tries to draw more current than what you have configured, which is a good thing for the designers to have done, although that does mean some of the current values might not work with all vehicles (but this would be that particular model vehicle's fault). The feature to show the measured accumulative kilowatt-hours should have been a great feature, but I'm finding the count intermittently resets right at the point when the EV finishes charging. The seams on the rectangular unit's plastic enclosure have some give, and I'm not sure that I'd trust it outdoors in the rain. ... show more

I like that this is a portable charger, and it is easy to keep in the vehicle for when you need it. The screen is easy to read and being a level 2 charger, it does charge faster. I like that it comes with so many safety precautions and high waterproof rating. It uses the standard J1772 connector making versatile, but if you have a Tesla you are going to need an adapter. I am not a huge fan of the indicator lights, mostly because I have to remember what 5 different lights mean, and I don’t ever remember. Super slow charger but the charger works just fine to charge my tesla model Y, i just plug it into my house outlet and it will start charging ( super slow but it is charging just fine ). i'm gonna put this charger on my car for back-up charging cable only. I love this charger for traveling in my Plug-in Hybrid. The Level 1 & 2 portable charger I had works well in general, but it is designed to automatically draw as much current as it could get. This means that it sometimes overloaded the and blew circuit breakers. This one allows you to choose the amperage to suit your needs. If you need a fast charge and you know you’re on a reliable circuit, you can pick a high Amperage. If you have plenty of time or a delicate circuit, you can use 8 or 10 Amps. We also have different electric rates at different times of day, so you can set up the charger for a delay so that it operates during the economical times. The charger arrived very nicely packaged and protected. There is a very minimal instruction sheet, but it contains all the information you need. The round carry bag works great to easily roll and store the charger. Operation could not be simpler - you plug it into an outlet, set your Amperage and delay as needed, then plug it into the car. The selection buttons are obvious and responsive. I ran it overnight at 8 Amps on a circuit with which I’ve had a lot of overload problems in the past, and it worked perfectly. I’ve only used it at level one, 110 V so far. I’ve not tested it at 220 V Level 2, and I will rarely if ever use it like that, but I will give it a try when I get a chance. If it is anything other than great at Level 2 I’ll update my review accordingly. For now though, this thing is perfect! ... show more

As all members of our big extended family now own EVs thanks to our grandfather, I always request EV chargers whenever I see them so that everyone gets to have their own (trust me, it's for the sake of family peace). For the price, this charger is a great deal in terms of overall quality versus price. This one comes with both NEMA 6-20 and NEMA 5-15 adapters, making it compatible with a wide range of electric cars, which would be quite useful if you have a variety of EVs among your family members. (Not that useful for my family since we all have our own, lol.) The portable and plug-in design of the charger makes it convenient for outdoor use, and the 25ft copper cord provides ample length for easy access. What I like about this one is actually its color, blue, as all the other ones I've tried were either black or white (even though black is generally one of my three favorite colors, I thought blue was not boring). I know it's not an important factor, but I would love to have more color options for EV chargers to match the color of the car! So far, it has worked efficiently without any issues, and again, for the price, this is definitely a decent deal compared to mine, which cost at least twice as much. ... show more

This charger replaced the original one that came with the car. That one burned out after a little over a year (disappointing). Immediately, I noticed that it charged at a rate almost twice as fast as the previous level 1 charger. I have a level 2 charger also, but rarely have to use it because this works so well overnight. Very happy with it. Price was right also. Extra long cord extends entire length of my garage so easy to plug in no matter how I park my vehicle. 100% recommended. ... show more
