  • Great strings for a great price!
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 10 Pack
These strings are really durable and sound great and you can't beat the price for a 10 pack. I have used these on all my guitars and I have a lot. Hard tails, 2 point trems, Floyd rose's it works on all of them and I don't break strings and I play hard rock and metal mostly. I have bought several 10 packs and they never disappoint. Just my 2 cents... ... show more

  • Perfect Strings for the Gigging Guitarist!
Size: Electric Guirar(11-52) Color: 10 Pack
As a semi-professional guitarist playing in 3 different gigging bands, I have to make sure to keep a sizable stash of strings around. I usually take 3 guitars with me to the average show, sometimes 4, and although rotating "which guitars" I take (depending on the venue/environment) plus the practice of using each guitar for only one set for a performance can help me get the most out of my strings, I prefer the security of keeping "backups" around. Even though I can get several shows' worth of usage out of each set before I start feeling the fret dents in the windings and have to replace them, I am obsessive about keeping a stock of strings handy. For my studio-only guitars, I usually use my favorite Ernie Ball Slinkys, some DR's or a couple other "big brands" with varying gauges depending on which guitar, but for my gigging instruments, "beaters" and my cigar box guitar builds, I'm not picky. A basic set of 10's or 11's will do. When they were still $2 per set, I used to rely on the Musician's Friend "house brand" strings, but they've increased in price, so I've begun trying other inexpensive options. I've used some super cheap stuff like the Orphee strings, which are fine in a pinch, but seem to have a different alloy blend and respond to pickups differently than other strings, plus they're a little shorter length and don't work great for guitars with Bigsby vibratos or other longer configurations from end to end. Not a total deal breaker, but not my first choice. I tried these strings on a whim, mainly because the price was pretty close to those MF strings, and figured "why not?" So far these have performed well. Maybe not as "springy" as a more expensive set when you open them like EB's and such (which go almost perfectly straight when you uncoil them), but definitely better than other inexpensive sets. I like the little individual labels they put on the ball ends denoting which string is which, since they package these coiled together in one bag, and I could see that coming in handy if I had to restring on the fly. Performance on these seems to be perfectly fine. Once they're stretched and broken-in, I've had no issues with them feeling weird or not staying in tune, they hold tuning fine and don't feel "cheap". I haven't tested to see if the ball end fits onto the mounting pin on a Bigsby yet (a problem I found with some other off-brand strings), and I can't recall if I've had any length issues with stringing these on a Jaguar or Jazzmaster, but on my SG's, Strat, and my other common configuration instruments, there have been no problems. So far they seem about as durable as the average strings, and I haven't experienced any premature wear yet. I think especially for the working musician these are terrific. You can buy a 10-pack for less than 5 packs of major brand strings, string-up a couple guitars, put a backup pack or two in each case, and you're covered for at least another restringing or two. I think these are a great deal, perfect for most players and easy on the wallet. I recommend giving them a shot! ... show more

  • So far, good product for the price, lets see in the longrun
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 10 Pack
Fast delivery, the six strings come in one sealed package, rolled up together, be patient to take out each string, they are labelled 1 thru 6, the metal ball in the string that goes in the bridge of the guitar is not colored, they are all the same color, so You have to be careful and check the label to install them in the right order. I read some reviews that there are problems with the strings breaking while installing them so i took the time to wind them slowly, first install all with enough tension that the string did not come loose them proceeded to tune each string to one step below the final note and, after i tuned the guitar in several low keys giving time to the strings to stretch, then i tuned the guitar in the standard E-B-G-D-A-E tuning. Did not cut much of the excess string at the tuning peg, just in case, while installing, the string could break, but it all went fine. Good sound, they feel a little rougher than the more expensive brands. After a few chords and scales, the strings hold it quite well and stayed in tune. They still have to pass the test of time to see how they behave in the longrun with issues like humidity, sweat, corrosion. But for the price, i think it is a good product, specially if You play a lot and change strings regularly or have quite a big collection of guitars, it can help mantain your instruments properly stringed at a low cost. I also need to play the guitar a little bit more to see how the string behaves with bendings and hitting the strings harder with chords and with a guitar pick. I did this string change quite late last nite so i could write the Review and have the guitar ready for more tests. If the strings behave and endure, it could mean another buy in the near future. ... show more

  • Can't convince me these aren't ernie balls.
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 5 Pack
So, they look generic when you open up the package. They don't have any color variation on the ball ends, just all same color with labels for each string. you know i thought i'd hate that when putting them on but the label rips off so easily it's not even a big deal, and also the number system actually makes it easier for me to identify. so i get them on the guitar, string them up, give em a few rounds of stretching, you know, as you always do with every set you get, aaaaaaand... they're good. great even. I've been going through a hell of a time trying to figure some other hardware things out for my telecaster, and have had to replace the bridge twice over, which led me to literally restringing it more times than i can count to make sure all is well. there was a set of super slinky's on it directly before i put a set of these on that were on there for approximately 48 hours. i did play the previous set, and these. They sound identical. tone is exactly the same if not maybe a bit better on the treble side. i was honestly impressed. yeah they come in slightly cheaper packaging, SLIGHTLY. yeah they don't have colored ends. i don't even care. will they last? will they oxidize or rust quicker than other sets? i'm not certain, but judging on the look of each set side by side they look identical. for 2 bucks and change a pop, i don't see why you don't have a drawer full of these and just change em whenever you please. i get some people are gonna be fanatics and purists about tone and loyal to whatever brand they put on their guitar the first time they ever did it themselves in their lives and all that, but if you're not one of those people, these are perfectly adequate, and will likely impress you. the reason i compared them to super slinks? you'll see a bunch of reviews here being harsh about broken high e strings. guess who else has the same reputation? ernie balls. So don't be too harsh on these, double check your string up technique, make sure you're doing it right, and these won't let you down. ... show more

  • Coated? I have my doubts.
Size: Electric Guirar(10-46) Color: 5 Pack
Not sure they are actually coated, at least they don't feel like other coated strings I've used. They sound fine but they are not slick like I expect coated strings to be. Good value for strings in general but if you prefer the feel of coated strings, like I do, these are not them.

  • Not what I was expecting, but definitely what I needed. Not what I was expecting, but definitely what I needed.
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 10 Pack
I have to say I was surprised by the quality of these strings. I have a dozen or so guitars that I don't play but I keep strung up and in show condition, and then I have guitars in which I do play regularly, and string up with Billy Gibbons Dunlop brand strings. I bought these because they were cheap but had no intention of using them on my daily players... But, as we've all done, I broke a string and found myself without any "Good strings" to replace them with. So i strung my Tele with these strings thinking i would replace them as soon as my "good strings" came in. Although I can't speak to their longevity yet, my initial thoughts on the strings are one of surprise. They have a very smooth, warm tone and a playability that is very easy under the fingers. They don't have that "new string" twang that we all hate, and have very little latent stretch which is great for tuning stability. They bend nicely to the finger tip, and are snappy on the maple board of my Tele. If they hold up I couldn't see any reason not to use these on my daily players. Well worth the price. Plus i like the number tags on each string as a bonus. No flipping over torn packages looking for color codings to match the string. I have nothing but good things to say and am very pleased that i bought them. ... show more

  • Good Stuff!
Size: Electric Guirar(10-46) Color: 10 Pack
My 2nd time purchasing these. I formally purchased super slinky's and elixir for years. These are just as good. And they'll back them up too. With a quick response.
