  • Not what I was expecting, but definitely what I needed.
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 10 Pack
I have to say I was surprised by the quality of these strings. I have a dozen or so guitars that I don't play but I keep strung up and in show condition, and then I have guitars in which I do play regularly, and string up with Billy Gibbons Dunlop brand strings. I bought these because they were cheap but had no intention of using them on my daily players... But, as we've all done, I broke a string and found myself without any "Good strings" to replace them with. So i strung my Tele with these strings thinking i would replace them as soon as my "good strings" came in. Although I can't speak to their longevity yet, my initial thoughts on the strings are one of surprise. They have a very smooth, warm tone and a playability that is very easy under the fingers. They don't have that "new string" twang that we all hate, and have very little latent stretch which is great for tuning stability. They bend nicely to the finger tip, and are snappy on the maple board of my Tele. If they hold up I couldn't see any reason not to use these on my daily players. Well worth the price. Plus i like the number tags on each string as a bonus. No flipping over torn packages looking for color codings to match the string. I have nothing but good things to say and am very pleased that i bought them. ... show more

  • Perfect Strings for the Gigging Guitarist!
Size: Electric Guirar(11-52) Color: 10 Pack
As a semi-professional guitarist playing in 3 different gigging bands, I have to make sure to keep a sizable stash of strings around. I usually take 3 guitars with me to the average show, sometimes 4, and although rotating "which guitars" I take (depending on the venue/environment) plus the practice of using each guitar for only one set for a performance can help me get the most out of my strings, I prefer the security of keeping "backups" around. Even though I can get several shows' worth of usage out of each set before I start feeling the fret dents in the windings and have to replace them, I am obsessive about keeping a stock of strings handy. For my studio-only guitars, I usually use my favorite Ernie Ball Slinkys, some DR's or a couple other "big brands" with varying gauges depending on which guitar, but for my gigging instruments, "beaters" and my cigar box guitar builds, I'm not picky. A basic set of 10's or 11's will do. When they were still $2 per set, I used to rely on the Musician's Friend "house brand" strings, but they've increased in price, so I've begun trying other inexpensive options. I've used some super cheap stuff like the Orphee strings, which are fine in a pinch, but seem to have a different alloy blend and respond to pickups differently than other strings, plus they're a little shorter length and don't work great for guitars with Bigsby vibratos or other longer configurations from end to end. Not a total deal breaker, but not my first choice. I tried these strings on a whim, mainly because the price was pretty close to those MF strings, and figured "why not?" So far these have performed well. Maybe not as "springy" as a more expensive set when you open them like EB's and such (which go almost perfectly straight when you uncoil them), but definitely better than other inexpensive sets. I like the little individual labels they put on the ball ends denoting which string is which, since they package these coiled together in one bag, and I could see that coming in handy if I had to restring on the fly. Performance on these seems to be perfectly fine. Once they're stretched and broken-in, I've had no issues with them feeling weird or not staying in tune, they hold tuning fine and don't feel "cheap". I haven't tested to see if the ball end fits onto the mounting pin on a Bigsby yet (a problem I found with some other off-brand strings), and I can't recall if I've had any length issues with stringing these on a Jaguar or Jazzmaster, but on my SG's, Strat, and my other common configuration instruments, there have been no problems. So far they seem about as durable as the average strings, and I haven't experienced any premature wear yet. I think especially for the working musician these are terrific. You can buy a 10-pack for less than 5 packs of major brand strings, string-up a couple guitars, put a backup pack or two in each case, and you're covered for at least another restringing or two. I think these are a great deal, perfect for most players and easy on the wallet. I recommend giving them a shot! ... show more

  • Good value
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 10 Pack
These seem to be decent strings, can’t comment to longevity but seem to hold their tune well across sessions. Subtracted one star just because they are not individually wrapped, and a slight pain to detangle initially.

  • Great tone, great price, works perfectly with Floyd Rose style bridges... no problem.
Size: Electric Guirar(09-42) Color: 10 Pack
I have had prior good experiences with Lekato products. I have their inexpensive wireless guitar kit, and... the best guitar straps I have ever owned, I call them the "spine savers"... especially when playing something heavy like a Les Paul or a bass. I was in the market for some strings, and I usually buy in bulk. I came across this 10-pack of 9's for a great price... and decided to give them a shot. At 2 bucks a set, my expectations were not high. But I cut off the ball ends... made a couple of adjustments to my Floyd Rose bridge, and strung up my daily player. I was very surprised at how easy they played, and how they felt very smooth while playing. The brightness and pinch harmonics tones out of these strings is truly amazing. Haven't had them strung up long enough to get an accurate assessment of durability, but I have had several aggressive jams and they have held up great so far. If Lekato decided to make a version of 9's with a slightly thicker 6th string (like 46 vs 42)(so it would chug even heavier) I would be hooked for life. That's not any sort of complaint, these strings are surprisingly really good. ... show more

  • Ok for home use/not for gigging
Size: Electric Guirar(10-46) Color: 10 Pack
They're ok in a pinch. They seem pretty stiff out of the package and they feel like they would corrode after a short while. They're not bad but if I was gigging I'd most likely go to my standard Ernie ball or d addario strings which to me feel much better and sound better. But for home use they work just fine. ... show more

  • Bought because they're cheap: stayed because they're decent!
Size: Electric Guirar(10-46) Color: 10 Pack
I have horrible experiences in off-brand guitar strings, but I figured I'd try again: and I was pleasantly surprised. These strings are not going to win any awards for quality and tone, but they could definitely win awards for value: currently using these for my teaching gig but not afraid to put them on my own instrument(s). Not the best strings in the world, but possibly one of the best values. ... show more
