I got these to replace some plastic, solar post lights that haven't held up well to the weather. At 50 USD these are more expensive than the competition, which is why I took off one star. I do like the solid feel of these and the build is really nice. There are no rough edges or sharp areas that will cut you. These fit perfectly on my 4 x 4 wooden fence posts. The installation was nothing more than screwing on with wood screws. Compared to my last ones, these are 2x taller and have a really nice reflective bottom inside the light, so these are actually brighter. I do love that these are made to fit multiple post sizes, the downside though is that you end up with a lot of extra plastic base pieces. I do like that the battery and the bulb are replaceable, so this is not a disposable light. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. ... show more

Often, fences are dark in the evening and night, lighting can be an issue running power along far lengths. These are ideal for providing a little accent lighting, just enough to provide effect. The solar cell on the top charges a replaceable battery lighting the bulb far into the evening. There are two settings, a warm yellow and a cool white. Either one gives a nice glow. Each one comes with adapters for most size posts, a 4,5 and 6 square mount. Twist off the attached 4 inch and twist on one of the other two for easy install. First these are SOLAR so there is NO WIRING! This makes installation as easy an matching up the base to the size of the post, setting the light mode to WARM or COLD White (I liked the WARM WHITE) and setting the light on top of the post and screwing in the side screw to hold it in position. You can also just set it on top of the post but they might blow off in heave winds. I only had 3 posts for the lights so the 4th light is in the middle of the table on the deck. It provides sufficient light at night to sit around the table and talk with the family or even play a board game. Optimal on these lights is the battery is easily changed in the even it dies after a year or two. There is no difficult thing to unscrew or open up on the bottom. The battery is just inside the cover and has it's own battery cover that unclips and exposes the battery for an easy change process. Also these are Aluminum so there is no worry of rust. You will like these post lights. They will enhance your deck throughout the year. ... show more

For the two years I've lived in this house I've been meaning to put something up on the posts of the large Juliet balcony we have above our front door. But I never got around to it until I came across these. These lights do a decent job for the spots. I wish they were taller though, they were designed more for actual post tops like the similar but inferior white ones I have on my back upper deck, but I think they look good enough up there. I'll probably eventually find some sort of platform to raise them up taller. These lights are a better quality than the white ones I have. I like the exposed Edison LED better too. Unlike many solar products these actually have AA size replaceable batteries. Though any can be replaced if you know how to desolder and solder but these are meant to be easily replaced. That's nice because it's almost always the batteries that goes first in solar lights like this. They only have X amount of charge cycles in them before they go bad. Mounting them was easy with just some liquid nail. All in all I'm happy with these. ... show more

We have a vinyl fence with 5"x5" posts. These lights are a perfect fit for the posts. They come with different mounting brackets for different sizes and types of fence posts. They have two modes - warm white light and cool white light. We've set ours to warm white and I absolutely love the glow they give off at night. They come on automatically once it gets dark. They seem to last a very long time. I'm not exactly sure how long, as they are on when I go to bed, but off again by morning. These were so easy to install. I just took the existing post caps off and put these on instead. I did screw them to the posts, but I don't think you need to (we get high winds occasionally so wanted to make sure they wouldn't blow off). I just love how these look and I'm so pleased I got them. These Solar Post Lights are really nice. They are solar powered, so you don't need any electricity to them. they will also fit on 4X4", 5x5" and 6x6" posts. I really like these lights a lot because most of the ones you see in the stores are plastic, these are made from aluminum and feel very sturdy. I live out in the country and it is pitch black at night.....with these lights, they don't put out a ton of light, but enough to see your way down the path. I am very happy with these! Six stars! I've never been totally happy with post lights that I've gotten in the past - their looks left something to be desired and they never fit quite right without modifying the mount or the post. These, on the other hand, fit both my 4 x4 wood posts and my 5 x5 inch vinyl posts without modification. The tapered plastic windows have vertical linear bubbles and a stylish cage looking like filigreed art glass. I also really like the fact that their are two different color options for the lights, as it's been shown conclusively that yellow night light is much easier on night-flying moths that form an important part of the food web on which birds and other wildlife depend. ... show more
