Unfortunately too many Lego kits are so wedded to plans that there’s no room for kids to use their imagination and build something new and unique. Happily this kit provided steps in the right direction. There is information and diagrams about how to build the “monsters”” — but there’s also plenty of extra pieces so the young builder can create his own (and better!) figures. I thinks that by providing all the extra pieces Lego Itself is granting young builders permission to imagine beyond the Lego horizon and create outside the official cannon. This was a great little kit to stick in my son's Easter basket. It has pieces to make all the little monsters separately, which is nice compared to some kits where you have to take something apart to make the next design.
