I've been baking sourdough bread for years and until I bought this pan have been using my dutch oven to bake it in. This pan is a big upgrade and solves all the issues I have using the Dutch oven. My favorite part is the that once you preheat it, you put the bread onto the bottom part of the pan (which is sort of like a tray) and it is sooooo much easier that trying to drop it into a 500 degrees dutch oven. You can center it nicely and there is room around it to be able to add an ice cube before putting the lid on. (I use to struggle getting my dough centered in my dutch oven so sometimes it would brown unevenly.) The lid nestles on top easily - but what is really nice is that the lid has handles on all sides, making it easy to pull it off when the baker is hot. My bread comes out evenly browned with a perfect crispy crust. I have also used just the bottom to make a simple pizza - and because it is cast iron, it cooked it nice and evenly.

Winter is my favorite time to bake in the year and the addition of the Challenger Bread Pan takes it to a whole other level. Nothing better than seeing my breads finally look like they could be on the Great British Baking Show (will need to post some to make Paul Hollywood proud). The pan is so incredibly constructed. You can tell the care taken to create this product that is Made in the USA. I can't wait to try more recipes, especially those on the ChallengerBreadWare website. Great gift for any occasion.

I started baking bread during covid and since then have bought several cookers. This is vastly superior to others I have used. Although i have been happy with my Lodge Cooker and my Le Creuset Dutch oven, I was happily surprised with the bread from this cooker. It cooked faster than my other equipment, browned more evenly, and gave a gorgeous soft bread with an extra crip outside crust. I love that I can make boules, oblong loaves and baguettes in this cooker. Highly recommend!

I’m a retired Home Ec teacher and I love this pan. It’s so versatile. I use it for roasting. A rib roast fits great and I could sear it and then cook it perfectly. It’s also great for baked chicken and lots of other dinners. I’m excited to try other dishes in this.

I bought this pan hoping to up my bread game and it delivered. The pan itself is well made, solid as can be. It feels like something I’ll be using for a long time. It’s cast iron, so not light, but surprisingly easy to manage. It’s like an oven within an oven. The dome keeps the steam in and the temperature constant, which for me gave a beautiful crust on the first try. I’m really looking forward to baking some more complicated loaves.
