I bought this Mega Bloks First Builders 80-piece Big Building Bag for my 2-year-old (just starting with building toys), and here’s how it’s worked out: What we like: The blocks are just the right size for little hands — easy to pick up, stack, and knock down without being frustrating. The colours are bright, the shapes varied, and the kids (both my 2-year-old and our visiting 4-year-old cousin) both had fun making towers, houses and “garages” for toy cars. Cleanup is easier than expected — the sets come in a bag and it’s simple to dump them in at the end of play. For the price I paid, the value seems really good. What could be better: The blocks don’t interlock super tightly — if your toddler builds a tall tower, it sometimes collapses with the slightest knock. So if you were expecting super stable structures, you may be a bit disappointed. Some pieces are large and basic (which is good for young toddlers), but may be less engaging for older kids who want more variety or smaller detail. Final verdict: If you’re looking for a toy for a toddler (ages ~1-3) that helps with creative play, fine motor skills, and stacking/knocking down fun, this set is a very good pick. It won’t replace more advanced building toy sets when your child gets older, but for right now, it fits the bill. Kids ended up loving it and love making ‘castles’ or little homes. Great gift and helps with creativity. I said it’s quite durable due to how many times they knock the towers down or throw it onto the floor. Good for all ages and big enough to not have to worry about saftey issues.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These blocks are GREAT. They are large, colorful and easy for my 2 year old to build independently with. They don’t cause him any frustration when playing with them which leads to longer play time and less time being upset. The bag they come in has a zipper that my kids can manage easily by themselves. So far product has been good. Both of my kids (1&3 yrs old) have been enjoying playing them together. The pieces are big enough to be safe with our 1 yr old to play with, granted he chews on it.
