Pros: I love the lamp! Base is very heavy and sturdy. Won’t just fall down. Too heavy. Easy to assemble. Tip: lamp shade - once secure the actually shade material and you have to put the brace on - set shade on hard non slip surface upright (as of you would be looking at it as it normally hangs on base. ) Then slip bottom all the way down and you just have to easily and gently snap them into place. Then same with top. The instructions same to me he little confusing. (could be that I was overly tired) LOL Cons: The very edges bottom of the lampshade I just ever so frayed. It’s not a big deal easily fixable. Problem solved. I would buy again. I’m not normally used to the step click on lamp (1st time for me) and to me if this breaks for some reason lamp is not usable-so I bought Insusnce.     • There ought to be a law about that fake lamp shade.
The lamp base and pole seem okay, but the foot switch is attached to the cord in an awkward manner. As for the lamp shade— trash! I’ve had to order a lamp shade to use. Before I even began snapping the plastic stays around the metal upper and lower wires to the shade some of the clips were detached (torn out of the shade). As I tried to make due with what few were left more became detached and the task of holding the shade in place became impossible. I don’t think I have ever had such a negative experience with a lamp. As far as using the lamp and finding out how well it works, well, I’ll have to wait until I get a lampshade. ... show more

I had no issues assembling the base part of the lamp, however as soon as I tried to assemble the lamp shade it immediately started breaking. The plastic clips flew off one by one as I tried to snap them onto the metal rings. I've already had to purchase a replacement lamp shade, which has cost about half of what I spent initially on this lamp (since I had to purchase a new harp adapter as well). Enough to light a working room of at least 300 sqft, and this one does not disappoint at all! Great look as well, and the foot switch is super convenient to operate. One note is that it does NOT come with a bulb, and I went with the Philips 60W equivalent to 100W. Great white lamp shade.

    • Pretty good lamp for the money
Honestly the only things I have an issue with are the packaging and the lamp shade, everything else was perfect. The packaging was styrofoam with sheets of cardboard ducttaped around it. It was a real pain getting the parts out since bits and pieces of styrofoam kept breaking off and getting my floor dirty. If you want to open this, do it outside so you don't have to sweep afterwards. The lampshade is filmsy and cheaplooking, but I got used to it after a while. To be fair, at this price all these complaints are just nickpicking on a great product that does what it needs to do, which is light up my room and not be a complete eyesore. ... show more

The wife had a little trouble screwing the three pipes together but not a big deal. The lamp shade dims the light bulb pretty good, so you need a strong bulb if you need a lot of light.

My 90 yr. old mom needed another reading light. Why did I pick this one? 1. It can handle up to a 100W bulb. 2. Price wasn't stupid, ridiculous. 3. Foot switch is a great idea and built fairly well. It would be better if they gave a longer cord, but the one they give is adequate. Assembly? Not too bad. Packing? Well packed. No broken parts. The foot switch is the ONLY switch. Pure garbage. The lamp shade of you can even call it that doesn’t even fit around the metal. The plastic pieces inside the lamp shade that the metal snaps into break off. I was excited to order this because the price was great but this is just ridiculous. The only good thing about this lamp is at the poles were easy to attach. ... show more
