Medium size knob is slightly wider than the original, which crumbled when I took it out of a hot oven (after many repeated uses baking bread at 500 degrees). Measures 1-3/4 inch diameter, original was 1-5/8 inches. The rim is also slightly higher than the original. It fits perfectly on my oval Dutch oven, which is my preferred pot for making sourdough bread. Came with a screw (exactly the same as original.) More expensive than some non-brand stainless steel knobs, but I was concerned about the silicone pad (will it hold up to repeated trips to the hot oven?) and need for additional pieces for installation. I am hoping that the Le Creuset knob will last a long time along with the pot. ... show more

Of course, they are stainless steel! So they will get hot, you’ll need oven mitt to handle the lid, but they make my Le Creuset pots look much more classic and most of all oven safe for baking bread at 450!

I purchased these so that I can place my le creuset pot in the oven at 480 degrees. I was very surprised that they were hollow. I guess just didn’t realize it when I purchased. They are light and make the whole pot look so much more legit! The only down side of using these copper knobs now is that cooking over stovetop they get very hot and you’ll need pot holder to lift the lid. With plastic ones you didn’t need pot holder. Guess can’t have it both ways. I recommend these if you need your pot into >425 oven ... show more
