I purchased the X431 Pros Elite for its bidirectional capabilities. This scanner / programmer is full of functionality. The X431 scans all of the vehicle modules quickly and even identifies problems I didn’t expect it to! It has a large screen and is user-friendly. It did take about an hour to install all of the updates after initial startup. Other than that its ready to use out of the box. There is a convenient folding bracket on the back to hang the X431 on the steering wheel. The X431 gives you the ability to configure or calibrate any device you have to replace, it is far more than just a scan tool. I really like the real-time data streaming. The X431 can be used to test actuators, making troubleshooting a breeze. Only limitations I’ve found are A/F mapping and changing transmission shifting characteristics. Other than that, 10/10 would recommend!

This scanner is on the pro level. The first time I used the bi-directional controls to cycle the fuel pump on my Silverado to test pressure, I was really surprised. No more guessing if a relay was bad or running wires to test things manually. The relearn and reset functions actually work – I have successfully done an electronic parking brake service mode on a SUV and a throttle body adaptation on my neighbor's VW. The live data graphing is smooth and really helps spot intermittent issues. The build quality is solid. It feels professional, not like a toy. The 8-inch screen is bright and responsive, even with greasy fingers. The included case is actually useful. Now, the real talk: 1. It's a wired connection. I knew this when buying it, and it's stable, but it does mean you're anchored to the driver's seat. If you absolutely need to walk around the engine bay with the tablet, this isn't the model for you. 2. Manage your expectations on "programming." For basic adaptations and resets, it's fantastic. But for true ECU flashing or key programming, you're looking at expensive add-ons. The description is clear about this. So, all in all, it meets all my needs as a DIY home repair enthusiast and can even handle most of the tasks a professional repair shop would handle. 100% worth the money!!

Very nice car scanner. Has a ton of features that I am still learning... I have used it on multiple vehicles for reading codes, reading live data, resetting codes, and bi-directional testing of various systems. So far it has done all of these very well. This is a great tool that rivals the competition, at a much more reasonable price. I would recommend to anyone in the market for a scanner.

Scanner is top notch with the ability to deep dive into adaptive memory in the PCM and ECU. After cleaning my throttle body and putting everything back the way it was, the truck entered into limp mode “the flashing lighting bolt and esp”. I tried to pinpoint the problem without a scanner but couldn’t. This scanner was able to reset the codes but indicated the fault was still there. Special functions allows to look at real time voltages on the butterfly, tps1 and tps2 signals. Scanner showed live data of tps2 no signal voltage fluctuation when accelerating which meant the wire was loose. Giggled pin 5 in the throttlebody connector and problem fixed. Was also able to relearn throttlebody, clear adaptive memory in the PCM and reset the ECM. I’m a DIYer not a mechanic and scanner was easy to use after watching utube videos. It’s a bit pricey but it’s a professional scanner and you will need a AutoAuth account (separate) if you have a 2018 or newer jeep to get through the FCA system gateway SGW ( firewall) to have bidirectional controls. Powerful tool to have if you work on vehicles. I tried a foxwell nt710 scanner but it did not work (the bidirectional special functions would not allow me the access). Hope this was useful.

I bought one unit from launch and could not get it up and running even after using an autel for five years this company is hard to deal with you have to write your complaint and wait for an answer well the first went back I purchased a new and better used it for the first month no problems then I went to use it after a month and 2 days just outside amazon return policy and someone from launch accessed my unit and put the configuration back to my first computer and now this one does not work so I am back to step one . Why they did this I still don't no I'm in the process of an attorney so this can be resolved
