    • Very Nice, Very Effective Bluetooth Scanner.
Bought this to help find a problem I'm having with my Olds Intrigue. I have a wired scanner but I wanted something that I could use while I was driving so I could get real time information. This is a very compact unit that I can leave plugged into my car and, due to the mounting position in my car, it doesn't interfere with my driving at all and there's very little to no chance that I'll ever hit it or knock it out of position while entering/exiting the vehicle. Sweet. The On/Off button is a big plus. I can leave it plugged into my car and turn it on when I want to use it and turn it off when I'm done, which is better than having to plug it in and unplug it. It instantly pairs with my Motorola Moto E, using Torque Pro as the software, even after being turned off and back on or being unplugged and plugged back in. I am unable to discern any lag between actually events and the display on my phone. After two uses I've been able to diagnose the problem so I can fix it myself which means this unit has paid for itself in three days. Not bad at all. This is definitely a quality product. Now for some negatives. First, I was a bit amazed that the unit arrived without any instructions at all. I mean "Zero" instructions. Zip, Zilch, Nada. True, it's not a very complicated device, but still it wouldn't have hurt to include maybe a business card sized sheet that at least gives you a remote reference as to the meaning of the three LED's. Also, letting the user know that a very quick press of the power button turns the unit on. Apparently, if you hold the power button down for more than maybe a half second it turns the unit back off again. But, I got it all figured out in a couple of minutes so no harm done. However, I think Ozzy Gear really missed a chance here to exceed their customers' expectations by providing a complete set of instructions that should include recommended apps, etc. Second, while it wasn't noted in any of the ads for the device, it comes with a storage pouch. But it's not much of a pouch. It's made of very thin fabric and, while it will keep the unit free of dust and dirt, it will not protect the device from any form of moisture. In my case, I'll never use it, so, once again, no harm done. Finally, the price. At it's regular Amazon price of just under $50.00, this is one of the more expensive Bluetooth scanners on the market. True, there are similar devices that sell for ~$100, but there are also units that sell for <$20. Fortunately, I was able to snatch this little puppy during the Amazon 50% Labor Day sale and, in my opinion, scored a major bargain. Is it worth the extra bucks if not on sale? I've read some very positive reviews of less expensive units but, there are some very cheap Chinese made knock offs that aren't worth used bubble gum. I'll leave the choice to you. But this is the only device I've found that comes with a "Life Time" warranty. That's got to be worth at least a few extra bucks. ... show more

I bought this for my boyfriend, he says he'd rate it 4.5 out of 5. He was having an issue with his car and he wanted to see if he could fix it himself instead of going to a mechanic. After looking on Amazon, he decided on this one. Pros: + works well, does the job + a lot cheaper than going to a mechanic to get it diagnosed + convenient to have on you + with certain (paid) apps, you can get live data (there might be free ones, though) + small and compact so not in the way when driving + has an on/off switch, so you can leave it in your car without draining the battery Cons: - has to be strictly android - would be nice to have a dedicated app for the product that has the stuff (minimalistic would be nice) He hasn't tried any other similar OBDII Scanners, but he's pretty content with this. ... show more

    • Plug-and-Play and Reliable
Been using this in my supercharged 2004 Buick since December 2015 (ie, over 1 year and 3 months as of the time of this review). Paired with an old prepaid Samsung Galaxy Proclaim phone running the Torque Pro app and mounted on a vent-mounted holder, I've used it regularly to keep an eye on knock retard and O2 sensor voltage, along with fuel trims, injector pulse widths, and the like. For displaying real-time OBD2 data, for me at least, this setup is a better alternative than the Aeroforce Interceptor gauge that's pretty popular with the GM crowd (among others): (1) it's incomparably cheaper, (2) I don't have to permanently mount a diagnostic/performance gauge in a grandpa-mobile, and (3) it's incomparably cheaper. Since I've owned this adapter, I've kept it plugged in to the OBD2 port of the Buick 24/7. Moreover I've literally never bothered to turn it off, and I've never had a problem with it draining the battery (knock on wood), even after the car hadn't been driven for a few days. I've read a number of urban legends about damage or even fires caused by cheap OBD2 BT adapters and have even seen some legitimate service bulletins from car manufacturers about weird transient issues caused by OBD2 devices in general, but the Ozzy Gear adapter hasn't given me a single problem in my year and 3 months of use (knock on wood). It has always auto-connected with my phone each and every time (literally hundreds of times) within 5-10 seconds of opening the Torque Pro app. These two things seem to go well together like steak and another steak. I bought a second Ozzy Gear adapter a couple weeks ago along with an old Samsung Galaxy S phone for $25 for my 2015 Chevrolet SS. I'm using this setup primarily to keep an eye on my oil pressure because the relief valve on LS oil pumps have been known to stick open on rare occasion, and GM neglected to provide any kind of oil pressure display in this car. As with the Buick, there's not a good place to mount a gauge in the SS, so the Ozzy Gear + dedicated old Samsung phone + Torque Pro app + vent-mount phone holder is a good alternative for me. One last thing for what it's worth: I've used this adapter on a 2001 Volkswagen, and it works well on that car, too. Pairs flawlessly each and every time. However, the Torque Pro app is extremely limited in the info it's able to display with the Volkswagen to the point where I've found it to be borderline useless, so you might want to do a bit of research into whether this is the right setup for you if you own a Volkswagen or Audi. ... show more

It is not worth the money. I bought it because I have numerous Honda products. Doesn’t have nearly all the Honda models and nothing new . Won’t pull codes for newer Hondas. I tried it on two motorcycles and ATV and a SXS . It will pull up some of the live data and will clear the check engine light for EFI and ABS but won’t tell you the codes for anything with the DCT. This was advertised as OE level diagnostics. I could have received the sam performance with a differ t scanner at half the price. ... show more

    • Lunch CRP 129 MT Pro - Good tool but limited!

As previously stated, it is a decent tool but limited when it comes to features. I tried resetting oil light service on my 2026 Triumph Trident 800 and it did not work (perhaps motorcycle is too new - but it should not matter). It messed up the date and milage on my instrument cluster with out ability to clear it ( will have to send the ECU to triumph for a factory reset). Wrench light is still on, so take this however you want. However; It does work on my BMW and Yamaha motorcycles. Cleared the DTC codes on both motorcycles since I activated them intentionally. It does work but some features are not compatible with certain brands of motorcycles. If Lunch is listening, please update these feature because this scanner has a lot of potential and please lower your price, it is almost outrageous. ... show more

    • It is definitely a good buy
I got this Creader from amazon and I was going to do a review video on this scan tool. The little cover on the obd2 connector can be removed before you hook this code reader to the car’s obd2 port. When you turn on the ignition, you can see a cool Main Menu interface and it is related to four different selections – Diagnose, DTC Lookup, Tool Setup, and Help. Generally speaking, this code reader is really easy to use, you can select the item that you are interested in and put the OK button to access the according page. From the page of the Diagnose, you’ll see the Monitor Status together with the Diagnostic Menu. All the functions are as same as the instrument on the back of the package. It is interesting that if your car is in a normal condition, you would read no DTC and Freeze Frame Data. However, you can get the live data and know the real time parameters of some sensors. What’s more, by accessing to the I/M Readiness, you can be sure about that your car is ready to pass the emission inspection if you see that the listed items show “OK”. BTW, with the function of DTC Lookup, you can just input the DTC number according to the tips listed at the bottom of the screen to get the codes meaning. And I like the fact that it does give you a little bit of background information on certain things in the Help selection if you don’t know at all about cars. To sum up, The LAUNCH CR319 with various obd2 functions is small and portable, I like it. For the price of $22.39, you cannot go wrong about it. This is definitely a good buy, whether for a beginner or a mechanic like me. " ... show more
