For a recent major repair (replacing a faulty ABS module), I needed to initialize the new part to the vehicle's computer. The Launch handled this complex process flawlessly, turning a potentially frustrating, multi-hour ordeal into a simple, 15-minute job. The instructions displayed on the unit made the process totally approachable, even for someone who isn't a professional technician. The CRP919XBT is a great scanner. I’ve only had it a short time and used it on 3 vehicles so far. It easily found my issues. Easily cleared out my codes. The X431 has so many features usually only found is very expensive analyzers. It would be nice to have a manual that covers all the features but it’s not hard to use. It’s all menu driven so easy to find what you need. The X431 has the same program as the more expensive versions.

This is good well built scanner. Designed for a shop or advanced DIYer. It performs all the usual functions of a code reader with the additional capabilities of bi-directional communication, data streaming as well as ECU coding. Interface is easy to use. Setup and updating was straight forward. I selected this unit for its ability to ECU code as well as all the typical service reset and diagnostics. ECU coding allows the modification, activation or defeat of certain vehicle systems (e.g. Auto Start/Stop). I debated whether to spend the additional money for the Bluetooth version, however I am glad that I did. I appreciate the ability to use the device while not needing to physically be the vehicle, tethered by a cable. There are cheaper devices out there, but not that I found that will also do ECU coding. If that is a capability that is useful to you, I recommend this device.

Great tool for the price. Very impressed by all the features this unit has at this price point. Quickly identifies vehicle automatically. Provides tons of bidirectional controls and service resets, which are required for working on any newer vehicle. User interface is intuitive and pretty simple to grasp. The Bluetooth vci is also a huge plus, as is the 2 years of updates. Being able to charge it via usb c and its long battery life are nice features. Using not as a professional I have been impressed. Highly recommended.

If you are in the market for an obd2 scanner tool, you know how many different options there are and how difficult it is to decide which one to spend your hard earned money on. These units aren't cheap, and I was pretty concerned about the compatibility with my particular vehicle as it is right when Mercedes-Benz switched between K-line and OBD2, and it has a mix of both. Well, after a couple months of looking everywhere and getting sick of it I went for it and bought this unit and WOW IT WORKS! The tablet boots up in under a minute and automatically connects to the reader, opens the x431 software and starts scanning the vehicle. The tablet is very beefy and professional feeling, and should survive a work environment no problem. It comes with a screen protector preapplied, very cool. The battery lasts forever! like, multiple days of all day use no problem. And best of all, it totally worked with my car! I was able to reset my SRS light, read a ton of hidden codes, and view more stuff than I know what to do with. Overall, I am so glad I went for this one. I've already used it on a bunch of cars and it works great with each one. Every car has different capabilities to interact with, but always has the core functions of all system diagnostics and resets. If there was one thing I would improve on, it would be the printable reports. They are all one long list of modules the car has, and the error codes listed among them. It is at least obvious which ones are errors, but a nicer layout with explanations would really take it to another level.
