For a recent major repair (replacing a faulty ABS module), I needed to initialize the new part to the vehicle's computer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Launch Scan Tool – Reliable, Fast, and Worth Every Penny I’ve been using Launch products for about 30 years now, and it’s hard for me to say anything bad about them — this scan tool is no exception. It absolutely does not let me down. Pros: Ridiculously fast: Boot-up, scanning, and data refresh are all quick and smooth. Excellent build quality: Feels solid in your hands and holds up to shop use. Insane battery life: Easily lasts all day in the shop without reaching for the charger. IMMO capability: It does have add-ons for immobilizer functions if that’s something you’re interested in. DOIP support: Once I got the DOIP cable, it handled JLR (Jaguar/Land Rover) beautifully. My Autel Elite (which I still like) was starting to struggle with DOIP connections, but the Launch handled it without a hiccup. Cons: No kickstand: It would be nice if it had one for easier viewing on the bench. No DOIP cable included: You’ll have to order that separately (about $60). Setup was painless through AutoAuth. I’ve been using this thing almost every day for three weeks, and it’s been rock-solid. For the money, it punches way above its weight, just like most Launch tools do. Bottom line — if you’re a professional tech or even a serious DIYer, this tool is worth every cent.

This is good well built scanner. Designed for a shop or advanced DIYer. It performs all the usual functions of a code reader with the additional capabilities of bi-directional communication, data streaming as well as ECU coding. Interface is easy to use. Setup and updating was straight forward. I selected this unit for its ability to ECU code as well as all the typical service reset and diagnostics. ECU coding allows the modification, activation or defeat of certain vehicle systems (e.g. Auto Start/Stop). I debated whether to spend the additional money for the Bluetooth version, however I am glad that I did. I appreciate the ability to use the device while not needing to physically be the vehicle, tethered by a cable. There are cheaper devices out there, but not that I found that will also do ECU coding. If that is a capability that is useful to you, I recommend this device.

For a professional automotive technician this scanner does exactly what i need. Before i bought it, my friends suggested checking out brands like Foxwell, Ancel, Xtool and ThinkCar. But man, I'm glad i went with this launch instead. It works flawlessly from the first use. Tried it on a 2002 Ford F-350, a 2019 BMW 5 Series, a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 and a few other vehicles. Read VIN automatically and pretty quick, without me having to search through menus. Using the bi-directional control, i could send commands directly to the car's systems to pinpoint the bad spark plug. It speeds up troubleshooting big time. It also has like 30+ service resets build-in. I haven't messed with the coding yet, but overall, it is super reliable and covers everything i need. For the price? Total bang for your buck.

If you are in the market for an obd2 scanner tool, you know how many different options there are and how difficult it is to decide which one to spend your hard earned money on. These units aren't cheap, and I was pretty concerned about the compatibility with my particular vehicle as it is right when Mercedes-Benz switched between K-line and OBD2, and it has a mix of both. Well, after a couple months of looking everywhere and getting sick of it I went for it and bought this unit and WOW IT WORKS! The tablet boots up in under a minute and automatically connects to the reader, opens the x431 software and starts scanning the vehicle. The tablet is very beefy and professional feeling, and should survive a work environment no problem. It comes with a screen protector preapplied, very cool. The battery lasts forever! like, multiple days of all day use no problem. And best of all, it totally worked with my car! I was able to reset my SRS light, read a ton of hidden codes, and view more stuff than I know what to do with. Overall, I am so glad I went for this one. I've already used it on a bunch of cars and it works great with each one. Every car has different capabilities to interact with, but always has the core functions of all system diagnostics and resets. If there was one thing I would improve on, it would be the printable reports. They are all one long list of modules the car has, and the error codes listed among them. It is at least obvious which ones are errors, but a nicer layout with explanations would really take it to another level.

I bought this Launch with a lot of good expectations, since I searched a lot on this and other car scan tools. This tool sounds very capable, but in reality it is not. My 2010 Mercedes E350 have an air suspension and needed height adjustment. This Launch has that option, however it doesnot work. When you go to the adjustment section, the controllers donot do anything, and in contrast reduces the height to a dangerously low level. I tried to fix it many times, it simply doesnot function. I am returning it, and will buy an Autel for the air suspension jheight adjustment. Maybe this toll didnot function since its a budget version of the more advanced Launch tools. Some of the other advertised function again donot work. The special functions tab doesnot have much options or not work for many items. I will give it another try with the higher evek tool, but this specific version is no good,

I have waited to offer a review of this scanner until I was able to use it on multiple diagnoses. I have used it on several occasions with the most helpful results being a fuel injector replacement diagnosis. While conducting this last diagnosis other factors such as MAF readings, fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, etc. were eliminated as a reason for the lean code and for the excessive fuel trim that I was chasing which concluded that the fuel injectors needed cleaning or replacing. The live data capability and live graphing capability showed the fuel delivery in real time during a test drive cycle which pinpointed the cause and subsequent remedy. In addition, the wireless connectivity is an excellent safety feature during a drive cycle because there are not any cables to interfere with the vehicle controls. The data refresh seems instantaneous because there is not any lag time to refresh the data. I have not had an opportunity to use any of the reset functions but based on the capability that I have experienced so far, I do not anticipate any problems with the reset functions. I am very pleased with this Launch scanner, and I would recommend it as an addition to any mechanics tool repertoire. The low price makes it an excellent tool value, and the reasonable annual update fee keeps the scanner up to date for newer vehicles.
