This tool took a bit to update all of the features, but that was more than likely a function of my home internet speed, and not the product. I was able to plug this into my 9-year-old car and perform a complete diagnosis without any glitches or problems. It seems like a very good product for the money. Will it do as much as a Snap-On or Mac Tools scanner? No. But it's also a fraction of the cost. It seems like it will be durable enough, but only time will tell. Additionally, I haven't had it long enough to comment on the battery life, and length of service between recharges. Hopefully it won't be a disappointment in that area. This is definitely leaps and bounds better than the Harbor Freight scanner/code reader I had been using. If you're a home mechanic that just needs to keep the family car/grocery-getter running well during this time of insane car markets without putting the local mechanic's kids through college, this tool would be an excellent choice.

This is a very nice unit other than the fact that after you plug it into the first vehicle, any other vehicle information has to be downloaded off the Internet and there are sometimes fees associated with this so be careful research this tool very carefully before you buy it to make sure it is personal and has the data you’re looking for already built in Other than that this unit fixed about a $5000 problem on my truck and I was able to repair it for less than $1000

DO NOT BUY A LAUNCH SCANNER!!!! I have tried to get support for this Launch 919x that I bought last spring. I used it 6 times it did an update and the next day it said “corrupted shutdown in 5sec” did that twice and now won’t turn on at all. I’m out hundreds of dollars and need a new scanner thanks Launch!! Also USLaunch will not help since bought on Amazon and overseas support returns emails with no content.

I’m upgrading my review to a 4-star. This little jewel found the exact problem on a 2016 Buick Encore(my mother-in-laws) car. Nice fit for any DIY toolbox and feels solid when gripping it. The cable could be longer to allow for testing under the hood vs. in the car. If you like to read the manual for in-depth information this one misses the point of what a manual is. The manual is laughable and only takes 5-10 minutes at the most to read. 1. Very limited on its functioinality/compatability list and what it can actually do. Apparently an engine balance check can be accomplished on my 2012 Ram, but the only problem is I get a "condition for test cannot be met" error. I get this whether the engine is on or off. 2. Comes up with the trouble codes which is great. The bad is you can't click on the code to get and explanation. You can go to home select DTC code lookup and type it in and it will chrome you to the code description. 3. The touch screen is awesome or you can use buttons pushing and arrow up, down, left and right, hit the home button again and go back to where you started. 4. WiFi connection is great and connecting to a hotspot is easy as well. I do find the WiFi will not auto connect using a hotspot. 5. The live data feed is awesome. You can use “combine” option your selection to see every check box you select to see. Would I recommend it? Yes, but they should have an easy step by step method for the check you need. I went to return it and in return Amazon offered me 75ish$ to keep it so I did. I took a refund and still have it and used it to fix my in-laws car.
