A good tool for the home mechanic.
This tool took a bit to update all of the features, but that was more than likely a function of my home internet speed, and not the product. I was able to plug this into my 9-year-old car and perform a complete diagnosis without any glitches or problems. It seems like a very good product for the money. Will it do as much as a Snap-On or Mac Tools scanner? No. But it's also a fraction of the cost. It seems like it will be durable enough, but only time will tell. Additionally, I haven't had it long enough to comment on the battery life, and length of service between recharges. Hopefully it won't be a disappointment in that area. This is definitely leaps and bounds better than the Harbor Freight scanner/code reader I had been using. If you're a home mechanic that just needs to keep the family car/grocery-getter running well during this time of insane car markets without putting the local mechanic's kids through college, this tool would be an excellent choice.

The Launch was successful.
I’m upgrading my review to a 4-star. This little jewel found the exact problem on a 2016 Buick Encore(my mother-in-laws) car. Nice fit for any DIY toolbox and feels solid when gripping it. The cable could be longer to allow for testing under the hood vs. in the car. If you like to read the manual for in-depth information this one misses the point of what a manual is. The manual is laughable and only takes 5-10 minutes at the most to read. 1. Very limited on its functioinality/compatability list and what it can actually do. Apparently an engine balance check can be accomplished on my 2012 Ram, but the only problem is I get a "condition for test cannot be met" error. I get this whether the engine is on or off. 2. Comes up with the trouble codes which is great. The bad is you can't click on the code to get and explanation. You can go to home select DTC code lookup and type it in and it will chrome you to the code description. 3. The touch screen is awesome or you can use buttons pushing and arrow up, down, left and right, hit the home button again and go back to where you started. 4. WiFi connection is great and connecting to a hotspot is easy as well. I do find the WiFi will not auto connect using a hotspot. 5. The live data feed is awesome. You can use “combine” option your selection to see every check box you select to see. Would I recommend it? Yes, but they should have an easy step by step method for the check you need. I went to return it and in return Amazon offered me 75ish$ to keep it so I did. I took a refund and still have it and used it to fix my in-laws car.

For Diy use it looks OK!
Got 919x 2 weeks ago.It competes directly with XTO0L D7. This tool featuresbidirectional control consisting of resets, actuation tests and special functions. You canview all live data PIDS from all modules in the vehicle in either text form, or graph form.This tool with also record selected live data PIDS and it will allow for playback at up to 4Xspeed. lt is also compatible with the newer protocols of CAN FD and DolP. The toolphysically reminds me of the many Snap-on scanners because of its red body with blacktrim around the edges and especially its physical buttons. lt's VERY Snap on ish... Themechanical buttons are really nice for when your fingers are covered in grease and thescreen won't respond to their touch. lt also has an "automatically connect" feature thatcan be toggles on/off in the setting menu. This features makes the tool automaticallyauto-vin the vehicle and intimately start a full system scan when the data cable isconnected to a vehicle. All this happens by simply plugging in the data cable to the DLCport in the vehicle. This is the only tablet style of scan tool that l have reviewed on myYouTube channel to have physical buttons, and the "auto connect option. Those are twofeatures that no other scanners have.... at least that l know of anyway.

Soy ingeniero electrónico y cuento con más de 20 años de experiencia trabajando con equipos médicos, incluyendo labores de microelectrónica y manipulación segura de equipos sensibles durante su apertura e inspección técnica. Por lo mismo, puedo afirmar que el daño observado no fue provocado por una manipulación incorrecta de mi parte. El equipo llegó en estas condiciones, nunca funcionó correctamente y presenta claros rastros de sulfatación y deterioro previo. Esto evidencia que el producto fue vendido de esta forma y que aparentemente nunca fue revisado ni probado antes de su envío.

Perfect for the DIY or small shop
The Launch 919x is a great value for the price. This scanner has many of the same options as high end “Tool truck scanners”. Will it have everything a $7000-10000 Snap-on? No it will not. But most diy or small shops will be able to diagnose 95% of issues with this scanner. It is very easy to navigate through the menus and find the PIDs, Tests ,and resets related to the module with the malfunction code. One thing I was pleased with not related to the device itself is the storage case has been downsized to still hold all the accessories just in a much smaller size.

Buy at your own risk!!
The scanner worked well up to the two year mark when the warranty expired, go figure. Obviously I didn’t expect it to last forever but I was hoping to get at least 5-7 years out of it. It was time to upgrade my previous scanner (12 year old Innova scanner) for a new one. The other one still works by the way just wanted one that has more capabilities for the newer vehicles. Bought this one and it did well except for the occasional glitch or need for upgrade. Come the 2 year mark it is constantly glitching and freezing up and restarting itself. It is completely unusable. I reached out to the manufacturer first to see if I could pay to send it in and get it repaired. They told me since I bought it off of amazon they would not help me at all. So I reached out to the Amazon seller seeking a repair as well and was told that I might be able to send it off to China to see if they could possibly fix it but they were not sure and didn’t really know what to do. They offered a small discount if I were to repurchase another one from them. Ummm no thanks. This one was $500 and I absolutely do not want to buy another one for it to only last another two years if I’m lucky. I understand this is not a top of the line scanner but I did expect it to last longer than it did. Not the quality I was hoping for. So future buyer beware!! I certainly don’t like spending my hard earned money on something that I will only get a few uses out of before it breaks and there is no real way to get it repaired.
