I have used a Launch diagnostic scan tool in the past and I own a Creader elite for my Land Rover that has been a great help with diagnosing its many modules. I upgraded to the CRP919EBT because my mobile repair side-hustle business has grown and I needed an affordable scan tool that had compatibility with more manufacturers than the code reader I had. This scan tool is amazing! I have the ability to scan pretty much all systems for every car that I come across now. The bi-directional features are on par with other scanners that cost far more than this one. Also, the renewal for updates is affordable for the DIY-er and technicians that side-hustle like myself. The wireless DLC that comes with this tool makes it so convenient when scanning modules and you need to be under the hood to see things. The ability to search trouble codes online on the tool is another great feature. The build quality is great and it comes in a great case for protection and storage. I would highly recommend this scan tool for advanced do-it-yourself-ers and professional technicians alike that need the ability to delve deeper into vehicle systems than a generic code reader.

The X431 comes in a robust case that includes the tablet and all necessary cables/charger. I like the fact that the OBD II adapter is Bluetooth, so I can walk around the car and perform actuation tests without needing to sit in the drivers seat. I was quickly able to diagnose some fault codes in the ECU of my 2000 ML55 AMG, it even auto-detected the VIN. This scanner is bidirectional so you also have the ability to do some coding on certain cars. I was surprised to find this scanner had the ability to perform adaptation resets or teach-in processes that I’ve only seen Mercedes dealer specific software do. I noticed even more functionality with my 2002 BMW 530i where it was able to do even more advanced coding such as changing the vehicle order (VO). Can safely say this scanner should work great with any vehicle that has an OBD II port, which is pretty much everything since the late 90s. If you have an older German car such as a BMW or Mercedes, some of the late 90s and very early 2000s cars have an OBD II port, but they also have a diagnostic port under the hood. In this case, the OBD II port really only works for emissions, you'd have to get an adapter (not included) for those cars. I do have some of those adapters lying around, so I was able to try it out with an E36 3 series (1999) and an R129 SL (1997), and it worked like a charm. This would be useful when retrofitting/upgrading various components. Overall the scanner seems very capable especially for the price. The ability to observe live data and graph it is nice to have as well. The size of this scanner is pretty much perfect as well. I have used other Launch scanners in the past specific for certain makes of vehicles, this seems like a considerable upgrade over those, especially being the latest model. There are features in the software that would make this scanner great for a mobile mechanic or small shop as well, as it has the ability to make vehicle profiles and send reports including error codes to customers.

Im a Master Technician and having a good solid reliable scantool is a MUST especially when working with alot of different Brand vehicles. From scanning Full complete reports, to printing wirelessly and sending my customer a detailed report via email of all their dtc’s, this tool can do. Maint resets, Parking Brake Retract, even chasing misifires on a Bmw and Mercedes no problem. Diagnosing Hondas Fuel trim issues with their AF Test is perfect! Using the live data with 8 multiple graphs, I was also able to determine the state and condemn a bad Hybrid Battery on a late model Ford Fusion. I have an Autel Ultra that i use everyday. And is Big Scan Tool. And sometimes not so practical. This scanner is built tough, and the perfect size to carry around the shop when working on multiple cars. Everything i have used it for is worked flawlessly with no issues. The Scan tool is very easy to use. Im also very impressed with the battery life. My Autel Ultra, in one day i may be 50% life left on my battery. The CRP919EBT, i used it for 6 days, did not charge it, on the last day i still had a 20% battery life left. So i was impressed! If you’re a technician looking for a good scan tool, at a good price this is it!

Background- ford senior master technician, in the industry for 20 years. I wanted an additional backup, and already have the x431 pro v 4.0+. I wanted something almost as capable, smaller but still great for all makes and models, and that’s where this CRP919 comes in. Excellent little scantool, very easy to set up. If you’re new to Launch, create an account for free with a user name and password, pair VCI and you’re good to go. You can put in user name, shop address, shop phone number and email, and it saves it to all reports. Very nice for customers. I wanted to note here- this scantool feels beefy. The case is thick, with extra padding on the corners and raised sections to protect the screen. It feels even more rugged than my other one, and I’m SUPER happy with how it feels. Connecting is quick. Connect VCI to the vehicles DLC, hit intelligent diagnose and you’re off. Pulls VIN, decodes everything for you. Takes maybe 10 seconds to connect and decode, very quick. Takes maybe 30 seconds to scan all modules. Yes, if there’s a module that’s communicating, it will pull codes from it. This one pulled RCM codes from my truck no problem. I went in to check data logger, and see it’s the same as other Launch scantools. Value, graph, data, they’re all there. You can display 8 graphs, and combine 4 of them. Data speed performance is fast, no noticeable lagging. The scantool also has power balance and relative compression for my truck, which is awesome in a scanner in this price range. Completely shocked by that, and super impressed. Support is spot on with these Launch scantools. Seller is quick to respond to questions and help with setup if necessary, be it simple settings or tech support. If you need support in any way, they’re there to help. Scantool comes with an automatic 2 years of updates. Updates are downloaded via WiFi, easy as clicking the update section, update all, and ok. This is a global scantool, so there will be updates you might not need or use, I download ‘em anyways. Mine showed error on two of them, reclicking them downloaded them no problem. Scantool is fast, covers a ton of vehicles, is in depth, has great support, portable and easy to use. 10/10 Launch, excellent job

Powerful scan tool feature proof it supports, not only traditional protocols older vehicles, but also newer vehicles new systems that are coming out like CANFD and other new protocols and it has advanced ECU coding it is a full system scanner as well scan the entire system everything motor transmission, body control, module whatever your car has. It will scan the entire system. Unlike other cheap scanners out there launch is premium and powerful advance and easy to use. It also has immobilizer which I programmed the key amazingly very easy save so much money instead of paying a locksmith hundreds of dollars I did it myself and It has most popular special function, resets, and action test as well by directional support so I’m able to check and activate radiator fans I can roll down the windows from the scanner. I can unlock and unlock the car with the scanner. I can check the blinker lights, the brake lights. I can check everything related to the body control module like the instrument cluster I can activate the transmission solenoids as well I can see if they are functioning and run test with the ABS as well. I can run test with the ABS brakes transmission motor you name it. This scanner is amazing. I originally bought the X tool D7 and was extremely disappointed, and then I found the launch 919 elite hardwire then I got the Bluetooth version and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. You won’t regret it. This is incredible value for your money once you have a scanner you’ll understand.

You get the product with a serial number and then you make an account. After doing that, yes, the scanner seemed to scan correctly, but then the features like manual Regen on a diesel doesn't start when you go into function. In the end before I decided to send it back the system logged me out and wouldn't log back in with my username and password. Kept saying that the password was incorrect. When trying to retrieve password it asks for you to enter your s/n and tells you that username and email are automatically obtained, but as soon as I put in the last digit of the number it says network failure which is impossible when I'm in my house and have the scanner connected to my home network which is working perfect with everything else. Seems like a scam to me. I would not purchase this again from this seller. Also, before deciding to return this scanner I called the launch company. They said they could not help me because the scanner was not purchased through them, so I'm returning it and I will be purchasing another one through them since I could not contact customer service through any avenue the scanner tablet gives you. Not at all happy with this scanner.

I purchased the LAUNCH X431 CRP919EBT Elite OBD2 Scanner and overall, the tool performed very well at first. It delivered solid functionality and did exactly what I needed. After some use, the screen developed an issue with fading lines that appear and disappear intermittently, even though there was no physical damage. This was concerning, especially for a tool at this price point. I reached out to Launch Tech USA and was informed that my unit is not a North American version, meaning they cannot provide support, repairs, or updates. This is something buyers should be aware of, as some units sold on Amazon may be overseas models. That said, I want to highlight that the seller provided excellent customer service. They responded quickly and sent a replacement unit without hassle, which I have already received. I have not tested it yet since I am currently on vacation, but I truly appreciate how smoothly they handled the situation. Key takeaway: • The tool works well when functioning properly • Seller support was responsive and helpful • Be sure to confirm region compatibility and support options before purchasing I will update this review after testing the replacement unit.

Launch X431 CRP919EBT Elite This wireless scan tool is a blessing. I was skeptical as to the battery length but after using the tester for 2 days on 6 vehicle scans and diagnostic test and after repair retest the battery meter still indicate 48%. The ability to be under the hood or at the rear of the vehicle during test or actuation function is extremely helpful especially in a noisy shop environment. The functionality is pretty much industry standard with all bidirectional tester with the ability to not only test and diagnose the vehicle but to reset service light reminder intervals. You can also program a multitude of functions such as fuel lever, TPS monitors, ECM’s, and program vehicle keys. The scanner is first rate and up to any professional shop but cost is low enough for the serious hobbyist. The data readings in specifications or graphic form are extremely easy to read. And the data retrieval is very quick. For those that believe the wireless testers are slower than a wired scanner you will be mildly surprised at the speed of this machine. I would give this test a 4.5 out of 5 rating with the only thing lacking is the ability to hang the tester in a steering wheel or under the hood. “This tester is a keeper.”
