Good for breaking into learning about more complex features of code readers. Has graphs you can choose to view instead of looking at numbers. It's like a wannabe oscilloscope but more like a graph. So it can graph your battery volts, fuel trims, O2 sensors, can read your RPM's, catalytic convertor, throttle body position sensor, and couple of other things. It's very basic but above the basic other scanners. The graph is not the greatest to view. It can auto identify your VIN and vehicle so that's cool. I used it plenty of times on alot of vehicles. Has free updates via wifi. You can email the screen shots taken to yourself or others. You can buy additional features. I'm not too sure if a bidirectional features can be bought with other packages but the basic package it comes with is not bidirectional. It does clear codes. It has given me good practice and confidence to get into more complex tools. Great starter scanner. Very happy with it. ... show more

This scan tool is perfect for a mid level technician or extreme DIYer. I bought this tool to use both at work, professionally, and at home for personal vehicles, and for side work and I work on all types of vehicles from Hondas to Mercedes. So far, I have enjoyed using this tool for all three of those things. It is easy to set up, easy to use, and has regular updates. It has done every service light and parking break reset light that I have needed. The Launch tool is durable and comes with a nice carry case and a TPMS tool which has been useful. Great little code reader for the price. I am a professional automotive technician with nearly 20 years of experience. The advertisement of the TPMS activation tool may be a little misleading. The TPMS tool is only suitable for GM vehicles. I own launch X431 pad II and a launch Creader VI and I love them both. I'd like to say first, this device is a very good investment to anyone who is attempting to troubleshoot any error codes or issues with their vehicles. I am very pleased with my purchase. I have a very good friend who was experiencing a problem with his 2008 mercedes- benz, I used my LAUNCH OBD2 Scanner to see what the problem was before going to the dealer for a diagnostic, it was able to get the VIN # instantly, give the code of the issue, also with the ability to tell the true problem, what caused the trouble, & how to repair. I was VERY, VERY pleased with the Scanner's ability to accurately give remedy for repair. The device's feature in updating various vehicles is a plus, the tire pressure monitoring/ reset tool, also a +. I would STRONGLY recommend the purchase of this device !!! ... show more

I was kind of skeptical at first as I did read some harsh reviews for this product. I wanted to get an OBD2 unit as the warranty on my 2015 Ram 1500 expired, and the infamous check engine light appeared. I took my truck to the dealer where they charged me $125.00 to diagnose the check engine light, and then tell me that the fault was a $450 part (fuel sensor with fuel rail). Immediately following this event, another car in the household had its check engine light come on (2012 Volvo). It cost another $125.00 diagnose the problem which resulted in changing the oxygen sensor. I finally said to myself, it is time to get on of these scanners as I do most of my own repairs. after careful consideration (between the Foxwell NT644 Elite and the Launch CRP 129E), I ordered the Launch CRP 129E. I think some of the other reviews that mention trouble updating may be due to spotty WiFi, because mine updated very quickly. I then played with it by connecting to my truck, a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, and a 2012 Volvo S60. The tool would quickly connect to each car automatically, and provide the diagnostic report as pictured. I also dabbled with the other sections such as ABS, and the unit performed quickly and satisfactorily. Now I feel like hooking it up to everyone's car in the neighborhood as I want to see more of what it can do. Right now, I am very pleased with the unit and would recommend its purchase to anyone that is looking to bug an OBD2 scanner. Aloha! ... show more

Fantastic so far, works on all 4 of my domestic and import models. A couple of things, 1st, 5V DC power supply is included, but it is only a USB-to-5V cable, not an actual transformer. I was confused as I couldn't find it in the packing, but it's there. 2nd, the recommended hard-shell case doesn't fit the 129E, but I bought this caseling case: Caseling Universal Electronics/Accessories Hard Travel Organizer Carrying Case Bag, 9.8” x 5.6”x 2.8” - Black It was a perfect fit if you cut out the middle flap with some scissors, it holds the device and the cables like a CUSTOM fit. All the self-tests run perfectly, and you can email yourself a copy of the results of the scan via the LAUNCH server, which is an awesome option. ... show more

I have only given this product three stars because it has not functioned up to expectation. I have two automobiles with the SRS light on and this scanner would not reset either. In addition to that it only pulled one vin from my three autos, and would not reset the ABS light on my Pontiac Grand Prix. It did identify a misfire correctly on one vehicle, therefore I'm giving it 3 stars. At this point I would not recommend this scanner. ... show more
