  • Good scanner.
Color: Green
The Launch G700 has genuinely amazed me with its intuitive design. There is no requirement to download an app, set up an account, or struggle with Bluetooth pairing. The moment I connected it to the OBD2 port, it activated immediately, ready to be used. Moving through the menus is effortless, and the F1, F2, and F3 buttons facilitate tasks like reading and erasing codes, as well as checking I/M readiness in an incredibly effective and simple manner. A key highlight for me is the ability to view live data. Rather than just getting a trouble code, I can monitor real-time vehicle metrics as they adjust, even presenting the data in curves for better clarity. The freeze frame functionality adds extra value by contextualizing the vehicle's performance at the time a fault was detected. Furthermore, the integrated battery voltage monitor is a considerate feature. It enables me to quickly check voltage levels and examine waveforms without needing an additional tester, which is particularly useful when diagnosing starting or charging problems. It's crucial to note that the Launch G700 is mainly geared as an OBD2 engine diagnostic device. It does not function as a top-tier scanner capable of managing advanced features like ABS, airbags, bidirectional testing, programming, or service resets. Nevertheless, it excels within its designated purpose. The tool operates quickly, is user-friendly, and delivers considerably more insights than a standard code reader. I find it to be an essential tool to have in my garage or vehicle—especially beneficial for interpreting what a check engine light is indicating before heading to a mechanic. I strongly endorse it for anyone seeking a dependable and effective scanner. I purchased this to have an easy method for inspecting my cars for trouble codes without needing to visit the repair shop every time the check engine light activates. Up to now, I’ve been quite impressed with its ease of use. I connected it to my vehicle, and it promptly hooked up and provided the necessary information. The screen is clear and simple to read, and the live data feature is a great advantage because it allows me to see what's genuinely happening with the car instead of just receiving a generic code. I appreciate the I/M readiness check, particularly when I prepare a vehicle for inspection. It's compact enough to store in the garage or even inside the car, and it feels like a reliable tool. For those who handle their own basic vehicle upkeep or simply want insight into issues before visiting a mechanic, this scanner is exceptionally handy. This OBD2 scanner serves as a practical device to have on hand in the car or garage, particularly if you prefer not to guess each time the check engine light activates. I enjoy the plug-in design of the scanner, eliminating the need for an app, battery, or Bluetooth to get started. You simply plug it into the car’s OBD2 port, and it powers up directly from the vehicle. This makes it feel more dependable for quick checks since I don’t have to fret about charging the scanner or connecting it to my phone. The bright orange casing also makes it easy to locate in a toolbox or glove compartment, and the buttons appear straightforward enough for everyday users. The primary reason I favor this type of scanner is that it provides a clearer understanding of any issues before heading to a mechanic. Occasionally, a check engine light could indicate a minor problem, while at times it might signal something more severe. Having a scanner that reads codes helps eliminate that ambiguity. I find it beneficial to see both stored and pending codes, giving me a better grasp of the situation rather than approaching it entirely uninformed. This tool can also assist in discussions with a repair shop, as I will already possess some fundamental information. Though it doesn't substitute for a professional assessment, it is certainly advantageous for vehicle owners wishing to be better educated. The live data function is quite valuable as well. It allows you to observe real-time data from the vehicle, which is helpful for monitoring how the car is functioning. I appreciate that it does not merely read and erase codes. The battery voltage monitor is another useful feature since weak battery problems can lead to misleading symptoms. Quickly checking the voltage grants added reassurance, especially before winter, lengthy trips, or when a vehicle has been idle for a while. The I/M readiness check is also advantageous, particularly if you need to determine whether the car is prepared for an emissions test. This can save you time and help prevent unnecessary failed attempts. ... show more

  • Good scanner.
Color: Green
For Tesla EVs, this portable EV charger works well. 32 amps is sufficient power for both level 1 and level 2. is compatible with 240V or 110V outlets. The user-friendly design of the Launch G700 has really impressed me. Installing an app, making an account, or fumbling with Bluetooth connections are not necessary. It came to life and was prepared for action as soon as I inserted it into the OBD2 port. The specialized F1, F2, and F3 keys make operations like reading codes, clearing them, and verifying I/M readiness extremely effective and simple, and navigating through the menus is a snap. The live data capabilities is one of the best aspects, in my opinion. Rather than just getting a fault code, I can watch real-time changes in the vehicle's characteristics and even see data visualized as curves for better comprehension. Another level of usefulness is added by the freeze frame data, which gives background information on the vehicle's performance at the time a fault was detected. The integrated battery voltage monitor is another well-considered feature. It is especially useful when dealing with starting or charging problems because it enables me to rapidly evaluate voltage readings and examine waveforms without the trouble of connecting an additional tester. To be clear, the Launch G700 is primarily intended to be an OBD2 engine diagnostic instrument. Advanced features like ABS, airbags, bidirectional testing, coding, and service resets are not supported by this high-end scanner. But it works well within the parameters of its intended use. The gadget works quickly, stays simple. I am really happy with the LAUNCH G700 OBD2 scanner that I ordered from Amazon Vine to store in my SUV. Instead of constantly having to take my car somewhere to figure out what was causing a warning light, I wanted something that would let me check trouble codes on my own. I was able to use the check engine on my SUV when it was acting up, and it was able to identify a code for the problem. I was able to identify the issue and resolve it on my own after realizing the purpose of the code. That in and of itself made this scanner valuable to me and might have prevented me from having to spend time and money traveling to a repair shop. I appreciate the scanner's ease of use as well as its extra capabilities, which include live data, freeze-frame information, battery voltage monitoring, and an integrated DTC library. It is also convenient to be able to review information directly on the unit. Having this in my SUV gives me piece of mind because I can always check a code if something goes wrong. I am really pleased with it because it has already assisted me in identifying and resolving one issue. Five stars out of five. ... show more

  • Good beginner/home user scan tool
Color: Green
Let's face it - if you have a need for a professional OBDII scanner, you probably already have one. Or you have an Innova or a Snap-On or similar on your wish list already. This ain't one of those. But if your check engine light just came on and you would like to start with a hint of what might be wrong, you can do worse than this unit. Did you know that not getting your gas cap tight on many modern cars can trip a check engine light? Maybe you can go to one of the national-chain auto parts stores and have them scan your car and print you a report, but every time I have done that it came with a shake-down (sales pitch). If it's just a P0455, check your cap, clear the code with this guy, and live your best life. A P0300 random misfire code might be a serious problem. Or it might mean that a squirrel has been gnawing on your spark plug wires. Worth popping your hood to look before you commit to a few hundred dollars of diagnostic work at your local mechanic. At this price, nearly everyone should have something like this. Just keep in mind that it is *not* a good idea to use one of these to just clear codes willy-nilly. If there's a code, there is some kind of underlying problem. It ain't gonna fix itself. Also, you can't clear a code in hopes of passing an emissions inspection. Apart from the fact that it's the wrong thing to do, they can tell - and their machine will tell them that a reset was performed and not enough drive cycles have been completed since. And they will send you away. The more you know. ... show more

  • Excellent Standalone OBD2 Scanner for the Price
Color: Green
Excellent Standalone OBD2 Scanner for the Price The LAUNCH G700 is a capable, easy-to-use OBD2 scanner for anyone who wants to diagnose a check-engine light without pairing a Bluetooth adapter or installing an app. It plugs directly into the vehicle’s OBD2 port, powers on automatically and provides the most important emissions-related diagnostic functions on its 2.8-inch screen. Key specifications and functions include: Read and clear stored and pending diagnostic trouble codes Display permanent codes and built-in code definitions Live-data readings with two-parameter graphing Freeze-frame data I/M readiness check for emissions inspections O2-sensor and Mode 6 monitoring Vehicle information and DTC library Battery and charging-system voltage monitoring QR-code report sharing, local report review and cloud printing Dedicated F1, F2 and F3 shortcuts for reading codes, clearing codes and checking emissions readiness Compact 6.3 x 3.54 x 1.1-inch body No batteries, charging, account, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection required Compared with inexpensive Bluetooth OBD2 dongles, the G700 is much more convenient because everything is built into one device. There is no phone pairing, questionable third-party app or subscription to deal with. Compared with entry-level handheld readers such as the LAUNCH CR319 and similar basic models from ANCEL or MOTOPOWER, the G700 offers a more modern interface, useful shortcut buttons, better live-data presentation and more convenient reporting features. It is still important to understand that this is primarily an engine and emissions code reader. It should not be confused with a professional full-system scanner. It generally will not provide comprehensive ABS, airbag, body-control or transmission-module diagnostics, and it does not offer advanced bidirectional controls, battery registration, component coding or extensive service-reset functions. The voltage monitor is also not a replacement for a dedicated battery load tester. For basic check-engine-light diagnosis, viewing live engine data and checking whether a vehicle is ready for an emissions inspection, the G700 provides an excellent balance of features and simplicity. At the coupon price, it offers considerably more convenience than a bare-bones code reader without requiring the expense or complexity of a professional scan tool. ... show more

  • Big time upgrade
Color: Green
The Launch G700 has truly impressed me with its user-friendly design. There’s no need to install an app, create an account, or tangle with Bluetooth connections. As soon as I plugged it into the OBD2 port, it sprang to life, ready for action. Navigating through the menus is a breeze, and the dedicated F1, F2, and F3 buttons make tasks like reading codes, clearing them, and checking I/M readiness incredibly efficient and straightforward. One of the standout features for me is the live data capability. Instead of merely receiving a trouble code, I can observe actual vehicle parameters as they change in real-time, even visualizing data as curves for a clearer understanding. The freeze frame information adds another layer of utility, providing context about the vehicle’s performance at the moment a fault was recorded. Additionally, the built-in battery voltage monitor is a thoughtful inclusion. It allows me to quickly assess voltage readings and analyze waveforms without the hassle of connecting an extra tester, which is particularly handy when addressing starting or charging issues. It's important to clarify that the Launch G700 is designed primarily as an OBD2 engine diagnostic tool. It isn’t a high-end scanner equipped to handle advanced features such as ABS, airbags, bidirectional testing, coding, or service resets. However, within its intended scope, it excels. The device operates swiftly, remains uncomplicated, and offers significantly more insights than a basic code reader. I find it to be an invaluable tool to keep handy in the garage or in my vehicle—especially useful for deciphering what a check engine light is signaling before I visit the repair shop. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient scanner! ... show more

  • A Must-Have for California Commuters & Smog Check Prep!
Color: Green
I drive a Honda Civic for my daily commute in California, and like most drivers, my biggest headache is when the Check Engine Light randomly pops up on the dash. In the past, that meant an immediate panic trip to the mechanic just to see what was wrong. I picked up this G700 scanner, and it has already paid for itself. Here is why it's a game-changer for everyday car owners: Instant Peace of Mind: Plugged it straight into the OBD2 port under the steering wheel, and within seconds, it read the code and displayed the exact code definition on the clear color screen. Being able to check freeze frame data helps me know whether it’s just a loose gas cap or something urgent that needs professional repair. California Smog Check Lifesaver (I/M Readiness): California emissions testing is super strict. The dedicated F3 (I/M Readiness) shortcut is amazing—after clearing a code or doing a quick fix, I can check if all drive cycle monitors are ready before heading to the smog station, saving me time and avoiding failed inspections. Daily Monitoring & Battery Health: I also love the live data stream and battery voltage test. It lets me monitor coolant temp, RPMs, and check if my battery/alternator voltage is running strong (especially useful on cold mornings or long commutes). Super Easy to Use: The physical shortcut buttons (F1/F2/F3) make it fast and intuitive. No confusing menus or lag. The bright orange rugged rubber casing is durable and easy to spot in my glove compartment. Highly recommended for any commuter or DIY car owner who wants to take control of their car's maintenance! ... show more

  • A well-made and fully functional OBED2 Scanner that helped me find and fix a problem on my SUV.
Color: Green
I requested this LAUNCH G700 OBD2 scanner from Amazon Vine to keep in my SUV, and I'm very pleased with it. I wanted something that would allow me to check trouble codes myself instead of always having to take my vehicle somewhere just to find out what was causing a warning light. My SUV was acting up with the check engine on and I was able to put it to use, and it successfully found a code for an issue with my SUV. After seeing what the code was for, I was able to figure out the problem and fix it myself. That alone made this scanner worthwhile for me and potentially saved me the time and expense of a trip to a repair shop. I like how the scanner is easy to use, and I like having additional features such as live data, freeze-frame information, battery voltage monitoring, and the built-in DTC library. Being able to review information directly on the unit is convenient as well. I'm glad to have this in my SUV and like the peace of mind of being able to check a code whenever something comes up. It has already helped me diagnose and fix one problem myself, so I'm very happy with it. 5 out of 5 stars. ... show more

  • Okay for the price. Limited scanning ability. OBD2 Generic
Color: Green
Launch has a reputation as good scanners. This one has limited functionality. At the price it is a decent value. It's capabilities are limited. It reads generic OBD2 only. No other modules. Has no battery to replace or charge. Has no port for updates due to being generic. It's easy to use. Displays codes and data. Has some graphing ability, but is rough due to the small screen and slow update rate. If your needs are basic, this maybe for you. If you want to do much, it is not. ... show more
