Don't be fooled by the fancy touch screen. It does exactly what my $45 scanner does. However, this does seem to work a little quicker and provide a comprehensive layout of info. I still think it's a little overpriced though.

It has a share button for the report, but i can't send live data anywhere. So you have to view on the small screen only. Also for instance, power balance, looks good hooked to vehicle, but saved it not good. It needs 7 lines, playback only has 4 and their small, and can't email them to me either, so useless

I've used ODB scanners before bu this is the first that was customized to a specific set of makes. I have a Ford F150 and my wife a Mazda CX9 so this is the perfect device to have on hand if one of our vehicles has issues. If you have another vehicle make, the app comes with a "marketplace" where you can likely buy it. One caveat there though is that all of the marketplace ones require a monthly subscription fee. I'd much prefer a flat price. As part of the setup you configure wifi for the device. You can then later update firmware which provides bug fixes and additional diagnostics. I had a bit of an issue with the wifi in that it would occasionally drop out and then come back on. Though I was in the front yard, my phone displayed plenty of wifi signal so I'm not sure what the root of the issue was. Possibly a poor antenna? In the end, aside from delaying the software updates a bit, it didn't have significant impact. In fact, I'm not sure at the moment what else the wifi is for. It mentions reports but I couldn't get one to send via wifi. There are some features that are supposed to be enabled in a future update according the manual, like the SD card slot. There's a slot on the bottom of the device but it's not active currently. The manual says it will be updated later. At least the software updates are free for life. Overall, I'm mostly satisfied with this device. I appreciate that it is customized to my vehicle make. However, I much prefer flat fees over month charges.

If you're driving a Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, or Mazda and need a bi-directional scanner, this tool is worth considering. It worked well for my Ford, helping me diagnose and solve issues efficiently. The ability to perform active tests and use special functions like oil reset and adaptive gearbox was handy. However, once I switched cars, the usefulness dropped unless I wanted to pay for additional subscriptions—common with scanners in this price range. Also, the build quality isn't the sturdiest I've seen but gets the job done. Overall, it's a solid choice if you primarily stick with the compatible brands.
