I have used this cutter and it preformed well. Problem was that the size of the holder was between the sizes thar I had to mount the cutter. When I looked for a cutter holder that would work I could not find one. Therefore I had to make my own. Check that there is a holder available that works for you. ... show more

Parting is a rough process. This tool is good for being very gentle with, but it bent trying to part steel. I straightened up the bit holder in the vise, and I’ve been using it sparingly from then on.

I have a Haas CNC lathe which I use once every 2-3 weeks to cut bushings from DOM tubing. This parting tool works fine for the loose tolerance parts that I cut with it. I'd definitely buy better tooling if I needed precision.
