    • For basic, quiet, effective air movement this is a solid choice.
This is a large, substantial fan that moves a lot of air -- great air flow. It has adjustment mechanisms that allow you to direct it at pretty much any angle; we found these to be very intuitive and easy to use. The base is sturdy, allowing one to use it with versatility: I would trust it not to fall over up on a table or shelf. It is probably too wide for most window sills. The noise level is good: it's not very loud, though with that amount of air moving, it can't be completely silent (the air is making the noise), but it gets close at the lowest setting. It is light-weight, made of a sturdy plastic, and came well-packaged. The one thing I wish they had done differently was to add a better way to wrap up the power cord on the fan when not in use. If you want a fancier look and finish, you'll want to look at metal fans, but for basic, quiet, effective air movement this is a good fan. ... show more

I am sitting in front of the Lasko WINDMACHINE, set on low, right now. Me and the dog. I am not getting up. Neither is he. I live in Florida, and the inside thermometer says 83 degrees. I have had the AC on this year, but the nights are cool enough still that I am putting it off. So - enter some fans. On low, it is still quiet enough to hear the tv, and puts out enough WIND that we can sit here comfortably. There is a control knob in the back center, where you can choose low, high, and gale force (they aren’t labeled. I made that up, but you get the idea.) The fan is fairly large, 20”, and we sit it on the floor. It is featherlight, and rotates on a center axis, so you can direct airflow pretty much wherever you want. The fan is typical Lasko quality, which is to say, excellent. Since I expect this to last for years, I’d rate it an excellent value for the price. ... show more

I recently got this fan to get some airflow in my garage. The biggest standout is the airflow. This fan really moves the air way more than a typical box fan. On high, it easily cools down the garage and helps circulate the throughout the space. I also like how simple and easy it is to use. Just three speeds with a manual dial. The pivoting head is a nice touch too, letting me direct airflow exactly where I need it unlike a regular box fan. It can be adjusted fully backward if you wanted to by turning the knobs on the side. Another plus is the portability. It’s lightweight with a built-in handle, so moving it from room to room is effortless. And ironically, it is actually less noticeable than the stand-up fan because it isn't at eye-level. The shape is small enough that you won't notice it in the corner. The biggest downside is the noise. On high speed, it’s very loud. But medium is a "decent" volume level. And don’t expect extra features. There’s no remote, timer, or oscillation, just the basics like I said before. 3 Speed options, up/down adjustable. But because the fan is so powerful, I don't mind it because it gets the job done. ... show more

This fan does exactly what it’s supposed to do—move a lot of air—and it does it well. Even on the low setting it pushes a surprising amount of airflow, while staying relatively quiet. On high, you’ll hear it, but it’s more of a steady white noise than anything annoying. The tilt adjustment is simple and effective, using large side knobs that make it easy to dial in the angle. Despite its size, it’s also very lightweight, which makes it easy to move around. Build quality is a bit mixed. The fit and finish aren’t great, and some parts feel a little rough, but the flexible plastic may actually help it hold up better over time. It’s more “functional” than premium. A built-in cord wrap for the 6 ft cord would’ve been a nice addition. Overall, it’s a straightforward, old-school style fan—no extras, just solid airflow and dependable performance at a reasonable price. ... show more

We needed to steam clean a few carpeted rooms and this fan was the best piece of equipment to use and not only for this but for hot summer nights to cool a room it will be great. This floor fan has 3 speeds which make it a ideal companion for a area as a large living room or small bed room. It is quiet on the lower speeds as expected. We love the idea of it being directional with adjustments on each side to move the fan in any horizontal to vertical directions. The fan is light weight and has the power to deliver a nice air flow. The price is a good value for a well built 20 in High velocity floor fan. I would recommend to my friends and neighbors. ... show more

You won't need to study a manual. You won't need to decipher assembly instructions. You just need to plug it in and turn it on. Simplicity at its best. There are three speeds -- 1, 2, and 3. That's all you need to know. But this fan is serious business. Even at its lowest speed it still pumps out a heck of a breeze. It's plastic. Therefore its light weight. Easy to transport. The media could not be loaded. Very trusted brand so when I saw this, I knew I needed to have it. This works great as a fan for a large room or workshop because you can definitely feel this from across the room. It can be angled anyway you need it to be. I keep mine on setting High because we don't have A/C here and we really need the highest setting of this to help keep us cool while we work. This is extremely lightweight- very impressive for it to be as large as it is, I was shocked how easily I can lift it and move it to the room I need it to be in. My only issue is that it doesn't feel as durably made as other Lasko fans I own. Lasko has become my favorite to own in fans but this one feels like it's made of cheaper plastic than usual so I'm not sure how well this would hold up if accidentally kicked or bumped into so I am careful around it. It works great though and the airflow is really nice and helpful. I can definitely recommend it. ... show more
