Update: It still works as advertised, but now that winter in here I'm finding out that unless you heat the whole room up, it's not going to be very comfortable just having hot air blowing along the floor. As a fan for cooling it works great, but as a heater, for the amount of power it draws, it's just not enough heat. I just ordered an oil filled design that is supposed to heat a room, not just throw out some spot heat. They seem to be more efficient because you can leave them on all the time 24/7 (they cycle on/off.) On a side note, I noticed that when I make pancakes on my cheapo but large griddle, the whole kitchen quickly gets pretty warm. I set it up in my living room and it doesn't take long to raise the room temp a few degrees. This is pretty much the same principle as those wall mounted heaters. Right off the bat, tower fans/heaters and small kids don’t mix. While it’s pretty stable, some kid is going to want to play with it, followed by yelling parents if it breaks in pieces on the floor, (it is only plastic, not metal.) I like towers over floor models because I don’t sit on the floor. I want to feel it while I’m on a couch or chair. First, the Fan mode. It’s pretty great and moves a narrow vertical beam of air right at you. 4-speeds; the 4th speed is almost too much from 5’ away, which is a good thing on a hot day. You’ll soon want to turn it down. It has an oscillating option, which I never like on fans; a steady flow of air is much better. Now the heater. I didn’t fully test this too much as it’s 82 degrees out. I just wanted to make sure it works. The heat comes out from the lower part, from 5” up to 15” from the floor. While this opposes why I wanted a tower model, it will keep your feet and legs warm. I guess they had to compromise separating the fan and heater, but it does let you run both at the same time. I used to have a smaller tower heater, and always put it in a stand so that the heat was at eye/body level when sitting. I can always put this on a stand too, (no kids). Power draw. At highest heat setting, about 13.6 amps, 1470 watts. Most homes have 15 amp breakers so you’ll probably want this on a separate circuit not shared with other gadgets. Of course, you have lower less power hungry settings, but you know how it is when you’re cold. All electric heaters are going to use a fair amount of power; there’s no “efficiency ratings” for them. All you can do is choose direct radient heat on your skin, or try to heat a whole room (obviously takes more power and a longer run time.) Radiant heat is good for sitting in one spot, watching a movie or reading, and you’re trying to keep your heating bill down. For just the fan, 44 watts to 32 Watts, high to low setting. My ceiling fan uses over twice as much power. Funny how they show a whole family gathered around it. The reality is this is more of a 1 or 2 person fan/heater, at least when it’s really cold (excuse to snuggle up) or really hot (quit hogging the fan.) ... show more

This fan and heater combo has been a great addition to my garage workshop, which doesn’t have built-in heating or AC. It keeps the space comfortably cool during summer, so I can focus on my hobby projects without overheating or constant interruptions. Bonus: it’s quiet enough that I barely notice it running. I’ve only tested the heat function briefly (it’s been a hot summer), but it worked well and seems promising for fall and winter. I’ll be putting it to the real test once the temperature drops. I've had mine for almost 2 years or more. Runs great! Heated my camper all winter. Yes I live in Florida but it still gets cold here! The fan runs all the time, and has 4 speeds, a timer and a remote. Definitely worth the money!

    • Strong steady breeze but blindingly bright display lights

amended review: the fan breeze is excellent. also the heater is great. but i'm having issue with the very very strikingly bright blue display numbers. its so bright it wakes me up and i've had to sleep with a eye pads. there should be some way to dim it down. i also noticed other reviewers noted the same issue. that said, the rest of my initial review stands: . I first purchased the Pelonis FZ10-which I had to return because I couldn’t feel any breeze , it was just so faint it did t make sense. So I ordered this fan - I liked the idea of the fan/heater combo as well as the height because my bed is pretty high and I need air to blow on me. As soon as I turned it on I could feel a great big difference to the Pelonis fan . It blows a strong direct breeze. The heater also works grand warmed up almost immediately. It’s not as quiet as the Pelonis but that’s not to say it’s noisy either. The sound is just white noise which is great for sleeping. It costs more than the Pelonis, but I have to say it’s worth it . Only negative thing I could say is that from the picture I expected it to be much slimmer. But all in all I’m very happy with this fan and highly recommend it. ... show more

So far, the only annoyance is that there is a blue light on the front that is annoyingly bright (when used in a dark room. I covered it with electrical tape and the unit still works as intended (remote even works). I just wish there was a way to simply turn the light off or all the lights would be on a timer and go off automatically (the display stays on all the time as well). The fan works GREAT. Haven't had the chance to try the heater yet but I have high hopes! ... show more

    • It's... OK.... and terrible... but OK

Let's start with - if you care about remote control, look elsewhere. I wanted smart but settled for remote control. This remote is terrible. The display on the remote will lead you to believe that it is doing the thing, but then nothing changes on the tower. I have to get within 2-3ft for the fan to actually register what I'm pressing on the remote. 2-3ft is within arms reach, and not what I would at all consider "remote." Unfortunately, the buttons on the tower are also not super. They work, but I'm a little worried that at some point they will be the buttons you really need to dig your nail into to get to work. The fan itself is OK. It's a little louder and has less settings than a DiffeREnt(O) tower fan, but it has enough power to feel like a nice breeze after a run, which is what I need. The heater is only the bottom couple of feet of the tower. This theoretically should be ok for spot heating since heat rises, just know the element is not very large. I haven't used it extensively yet since it's not that time of year. Overall - This is probably somewhere between 2-3 stars for me. I'd likely pony up the couple $20s extra next time to go with a another brand ... show more
