  • Worth it
Size: 80.8"L x 26.0"W x 44.5"H
It is a “get what you pay for” item, so I didn’t go into this purchase expecting something that would house 300 chickens & last me for 10 years. It was easy to put together. I had no issue with any of the predrilled holes like I read about before I decided to purchase the coop. It looks really cute, and my 9 two-month-old chickens have been enjoying it for a while now. It was only meant to be a temporary coop for them while we build the other coop ourselves, and it is perfect for that. (I will probably use it later to keep one of my roos in if he is being pesky, or as place for a hen that just needs a break from the others.) My only issue was that the pull out tray needed to be significantly sanded down to fit in the slot, and I still have difficulty with it, but I might try some candle-wax or something to see if that helps. Pretty happy with the purchase. I would recommend. ... show more

  • Poor communication and cheap quality
Size: 80.8"L x 26.0"W x 44.5"H
Product came with box damaged, pulled everything out to make sure it was ok only to find that the nesting box, which was actually safely placed in the center of all the other parts and wrapped well, was broken with the aluminum or whatever metal dented in multiple spots and the metal popping in and out of the frame. I promptly called Amazon on the first 12 hours, where they directed me to the third party seller via Amazon messages. I’ve recieved very little communication and explained the urgency with this product and need for updates as everything goes along. It has now been 4 days with no responses so I have had to dispute the product with my bank as it is just a piece of wood sitting in my yard at this point. The directions are also janky and really do kinda suck. Placement of a lot of the screw holes were off as well, making the waterproof areas a lot less useful. Please use caution if buying this product and keep in mind it is pretty cheap material, I kinda regret not just building my own or buying one in a store ... show more

  • Adequate
Size: 80.8"L x 26.0"W x 44.5"H
The "coop" is as pictured. BUT, it is very light-weight and the wood is about one step above "balsa". It would not be suitable for sitting on ground (would rot within 18 months) - so I built a frame (out of 2x6) to put under it. The frame is joined together and attached to the unit as well - which makes it less likely to get "tipped over" by some nosey creature (dog or raccoon). I have small hens in this unit, I don't think a bigger chicken would do well in it. The instructions for assembly were adequate, but not great. Some wood was already broken, some screws were missing and some pre-drilled holes were misplaced and did a bit of damage. The wire is good. I did paint the unit to protect that weak wood from the weather. Overall, it looks nice and is worth the price, but could be even better. (I'm guessing you'll have to improve/strengthen it on your own.) ... show more

  • It is working for temporary Guinea fowl housing
Size: 80.8"L x 26.0"W x 44.5"H
Update: I’ve had the cage a year now. I still think it was worth the money. And I will probably get another winter out of it. After about three months, the screws that attached the pool handle to the sliding coop door pulled out from rot and had to be replaced. The nesting box tilting lid warped I no longer closes properly. I ended up attaching additional latches to the tilting egg box lid, and the doors. They made it a bit more secure. For the Missouri winter, I added extra hay and straw to the roof, and wrapped it with a tarp as a wind barrier. I also covered the coop door with plastic bag and duct tape so that wind wouldn’t blow in on the chickens. They wintered over quite well. Original post: I read all the reviews and they were right. The instructions left off a few things. The pull out tray is cracked across one corner. The roof cap has long cracks in it that I had to caulk. A couple of the frames holding the wire they were broken.. it took about five hours, but we got it together. I added extra latches to help make it more secure from predators. We also had to add roosting perches because they are not included. It is way too small for three adult guineas. It might be OK for four Banty, but they would be crowded. That being said, it is serving the purpose that I purchased it for and providing temporary shelter while I relocate my guineas. the guy who assembled it for me, said that it was not a waste of money, and that having the pre-cut, and assembled parts saved him time and effort because he didn’t have to find other tools and acquire all of the parts to build the cage. ... show more

  • What I expected
Size: 80.8"L x 26.0"W x 44.5"H
If you read the description as to size and materials you won’t be disappointed in what you get. These little coops are perfect for my two pairs of hens. I will go over them with waterproofing and we’ll put tin over the roof and nesting box. Then when the hens get used to being beside each other we are going to hook them together and open the runs and have a wider run for them all. I like that they are coming out with extensions to make the runs longer also. They just need to make them all universal size and make it more clear as to which extension fits with which coop. All in all these are great for the growing population of city chicken farmers. ... show more
